Looks great, like the random pattern design! I'll have to use the system you use for locating the mounts etc. Where I am from it's not easy to get the nice epoxy systems, prepreg etc so I use West System for most of my work. Learn alot from your videos I have watched the last 2 days! :)
I didn't like the patchwork pattern when you were putting it into the mould, but the end result is beautiful and now I think I want that pattern for my engine cover 😂 I began making my first mould tonight and hope to have my first CF prototype next week 😁 your videos have been really helpful, thank you

How did you lay up the mounting tabs? In the video you were cleaning snapped off resin from the mold, and jump straight to the stainless steel latch. Also, wouldn't it have been easier to just make one part?

I have to do nearly the same part !!!!
Hey man Sorry about that. Lost some footage of that part. Basically I made moulds of the supports as you can see in the video. When you vacuum bag it, are you using additional resin that seeps into the bag, or, since it’s pre preg do you just wait for the carbon fiber to cure on its own? How does it stick together so well? Is that what the vacuuming is for?

The question is for how long can this carbon fiber craze be sustained. It is very taxing on environment and takes a lot of time and effort. Just increase engine power and it would be more sustainable. Imaging the amount of energy spent on making all those supplies and then most are thrown in the trash

I used masking tape to take the size off the mold. Than I placed the masking tape on to the carbon fibre and cut the shape out by a scissor.

With a cloth I apply 5 layers.
