Im 31, still remember fishing for catfish with my uncle and dad at 5. Your nephew might not remember the fish itself, but he will remember you and your love for him.
That’s awesome man love you’re vids, that’s cool he caught a bass as his first fish
I was 6 and me and my dad went to our cabin during the spring when the large mouth bass were spawning and I caught one and it almost pulled me out of our boat it was a pretty big bass to
😂 that had to be fun reminds me of the time my 7 year old brother caught a 35 pound striped bass he litterally almost fell in

Dude you’re such a freaking awesome uncle you need to keep teaching him !
Lil guy looks so happy
The little man sounds so cute❤
Good job sir keep outdoors and learning to enjoy the world outside.
I remember my first day of kinder. My 4th bday when my mom got me a small cake and some cheap Ninja toys from the dollar store that I loved. So innocent. It’s crazy how much we remember and forget.
My son caught his first walleye last year and talks about all the time they remember and they will always love you for the moment an for showing them love
Aww what a cutie .. fun times . My son loves playing with the fish we catch lol
Keep on fishing and inspiring more people🎣🐟🎣🐟👍👍
When I was 5 I was fishing with my grandmas sister husband everyday and teaching me how to fish and sadly he passed away couple years ago from cancer. I want to thank him for getting me so far.
Fish: swims slowy away knowing that he made a child happy
Making memories that will last a lifetime
At least you have it on video so even if not u can always show him and hopefully everything goes right in life and you don't ever lose contact with him and at your funeral you know he will talking about this day and it will always be one of his fondest moments with you
Love your videos man. You have a good narrative voice. Keep up the good work amigo 🎣
My 5 yr old caught his first fish last week. It was a small Rudd out the canal in Leicester, England. He put the bait on (bread), flipped the bail arm, did a small gentle cast, and flipped the bail arm back and wound in some slack. He sat n watched the float for about 2mins(amazing concentration for a 5yr old), then ‘boop………..BOOOP!’ He struck into to it and landed it. I was soo proud
Such a good uncle! I wish my uncle or even dad would’ve put this much work into my first fish, mine was a 3inch bluegill
Same
I’m not sure how well she remembers it…but I definitely remember when my niece was 4, and caught her first bass. I remember the exact spot it was and what direction she casted toward…and that it was 1lb 9oz and she caught it using a purple Quantum rod and reel with a Rapala DT Fat1 in Chartreuse Purple Shiner(the one with the scale pattern, not the more common version of that color).
So whether she’ll remember it when she’s grown or not, memories were definitely made!! Pretty sure her dad still has the lure tucked away somewhere with a pic from her catch, and it was about 11 years ago!!
I just took my 2 boys on their first fishing trip a few days ago. Great memories!
Yes I remember when my dad took me fishing at night, when I was 4-5 and threw a…(i just translated it says its called european bullhead) into my boot and I was crying as he was jumping around in there and my stupid dad was hysterically laughing and did nothing about it for..Well it felt like an eternity. So yes, I remember my first time fishing very well.
Your dad was enjoying the time with you bud! He wasn’t laughing at you. He was laughing about the experience you shared. If that ever happened with your son or even your nephew you would be laughing as well. Cherrish that memory.
His smile though 😇
I’ll bet $5 he still remembers this when he’s your age dude, this is how you wind up being the favorite uncle 😉
More videos with him plz!🤗
That was the cutest thing
“We’re using shiners” shows minows
Little dude catches bigger fish then me haha. So awesome💯🎣
This is a wholesome moment
Definitely don't remember what I was doing when i was 5 but I definitely remember catching my first fish. I guarantee that little man will remember this forever.
Some of my earliest memories were fishing with my uncle, these memories will stick with him forever!
LMAO “but who knows I don’t remember what I was doing when I was 5”
Shoutout to you for spending time with your nephew!!
Love it!!!
God bless you and your family.
He’ll be hooked for the rest of his life
And there's another core memory
I took my nephew fishing when he was 5 he's gone now I wish he was still here missing you Danny
Another angler enters the fold. Most people don't remember a lot of their early childhood, but things like this will stick with you forever.
Nah he will remember that for sure. I even remember getting scared from watching a clown show from when I was 3-4
So cute!
These memory’s are the best my dad took me to the cabin over summer and we went to a dam and I caught my pb “my pf picture” that was last summer I will remember that for the rest of my life
Good stuff my guy. 👍🏻
Great job nephew
GreAt to see you takin out the kiddo
I caught a 53 pound blue catfish when I was 6. The memories… I haven’t caught a fish that big since. 😂
I’m 19 now by the way.
Nice little bass
I remember my first fish. I was 5 or 6 at inverhuron prov park at the boat launch
Great job Uncle!!! I'm 49 and usually don't hookup with Bass that large. I've caught my dream Bass almost five years ago, pregnancy fishing!
The fish and my kid at two weeks old were the same weight, lmao!!!! #Twins
I like the FishingLife background music
Your awesome man great job
So thoughtful my dad took me fishing when i was three and I caught a trout im now 14 and i still love fishing
Similar my family loves fishing and my uncle bought me my first zebco when I was 3 I don’t remember what my first fish was but I still love it and try to fish as much as I can
I can tell his gonna be a big kid.
He’s so cute
He will remember.
Awesome man!
She let the fish free that nice
For real, one of my first memories was from when my grandparents, aunt's, and my own family going pumpkin picking and pulling our little siblings in some dumb toys r us wagon when I was 5ish. It's the only reason I feel any sentiment towards pumpkin picking so
Tldr please continue to make memories like that, not all of them stay but the ones that do are irreplaceable
"today im taking my 5 year old nephew out to catch his first fish."
Him: "Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii-"
"and to guarantee-"
I remember when my dad took me fishing when i was five i had a cheap spongebob rod and he brought with us some night crawlers and we fished off the dock i don’t remember if I caught anything other than a catfish but it was still memorable
This is what it's all about, I was 13 when I caught my first fish and when I finally caught it, it made me obsessed with fishing, now I'm 18 and I work at a sporting goods store that gives me 25% off on everything.....including fishing tackle!
Heart warming
When I was 5 I would help my dad dig for crawler's or look for them in the wet grass at night.
I'd also sneak his rod and go down to the lake and fish.
I read new nephew I was like that’s a weird phrasing
Oh man this reminds me of teaching my nephew how to fish and hunt
I remember fishing with my grandpa when I was 6 with a pick Barbie doll fishing rod. Ended up loading it in the lake, but a while later my grandpa managed to retrieve the rod and kept it with him. God I miss him
I was learning to play golf when I was 5
He did it!! I don’t remember my first fish, but I remember my early years fishing
Life bait is so brutal
I remember when I was 5, i was opening black widow spider egg sacks in the backyard of a neighbor
When I was 5. We had went to our cabin and me my dad and my 2 uncles where all on a boat fishing. I was playing of corse and not fishing. One of my uncles had asked me to hold his pole while he gets a drink. But he had a little bluegill on their. And when I grabbed the pole it freaked out and then I knew their was a fish on the pole. And that’s why I go fishing every day like him
I like how somehow im a sunny magnet and only catch huge sunnies with the occasional Bass
Lol, when i was at a hotel i caught a medium sized catfish with my grandpa, thats my first catfish catch.
Lol I remember seeing a double digit when I was a kid but it got away great memories I wish fish still got that big around my way gotta travel out of state to get them results
Ya never know what they will remember, ill bet he talks about that bass for a while
That’s so sweet
try fishing on some rapids, using something simple like a size 4 octo hook and a fathead
This is the dream
I have vivid memories from before the age of 5. Taking pictures and reliving the event with those pictures will cement the memory for a lifetime. You are a good man to give your nephew such a good time to remember.
When I was five I was out catching Croppie
caught my first fish when I was 3 and I still remember it
Pretty sure my first was a little bluegill on a bobber with a worm on a little jig. I’ve improved since
today is an important day, ive been humbled by a 5 year old out fishing me
I remember one time I was fishing when I was little and hooked like a four pound bass off a dock with a worm and bobber. Sadly it snapped off right at the dock.
I was 5 when I caught my first fish
Yes I do
Trust me my friend he’ll never forget that I still remember when I was little catching my first with my grandpa and dad they even took pictures of me:) I keep to this day
His first corona fish
I remember when I was literally 2
As a 30 year old man i cant remember the first fish my dad helped me catch as a kid but im sure we have a picture of it somewhere
But i can remember this day exactly, it was one of our relatives sons birthday a kid who was about my age 7 8 but never met or knew, and he had some kinda BBQ on some public part of lake geneva wisconsin with a a few docks to fish off of
My dad only brang spinning rod which only had a plastic worm on it and i didnt even know how to use either, my dad fished off the docks for an hour and went back to the table to sit with his friends
I asked for the pole he said fine just try not to break it or drop it in the water, he assumed i wasnt gonna know how to use it and for the most part i didnt so me my girl cousin was taking turns using it 2 casts a piece with the plastic worm and the birthday kid and a few of his friends was fishing about 20 30 feet away
I was a shy kid and didnt always know how to make new friends, well after my cousin went i had 2 casts coming 1st one i thought i felt a bite and i threw it back in for my 2nd cast 3 seconds later all u hear is the line pulling drag and this 3 4 pound largemouth bass jumped into the air like a tarpon
After about 20 30 seconds of fighting everyone on the dock came to see me lift the bass 7 8 feet out of the water on the dock, we really didnt know how to safely take em off the hook and release em and my whole life we never kept our fish unless they died
I cared alot about letting it go safely so i just started screaming dad we need help, the rest of the party came running down out of fear and eveeyone seen the fosh and was so hyped
Then my dad walked through the group and said wow very nice fish who caught it, they said your son did he was like whatttt no way he lifted me up and said u caught that monster by yourself
So i said take the hook put or hes gonna die he didnt do it, he said u caught it you release it grab the inside of the mouth grip with your thumb hard to lock the jaw (he didnt swallow the lure thank god so i didnt have to cut the line) took the hook out my dad told me walk him to the shallow part hold his mouth and push him back and forth slow to push the water through his gills
Did that for 10 15 seconds and dad said when you feel hes got his strength back just let him go and hell flip his tail and swim away
I remember one time I was on a camping trip and they had a fishing trip I caught three fish! Everyone asked me if I’ve been before and I said no because I haven’t every one else Chatham either zero or less than be but I was a good sport about it to cut to the chase fishing is very amazing if you have nevefe been fishing befor you need to it’s so much fun also you are going to have to be patient sometimes
When I was five years old, called Australian salmon in the east of Australia at the cost of the pier now. I am 10 years old.
When I was 5 I caught my first fish ever it was a mosquito fish but it still counts I was like so freaking happy casuei used to watch alot of river monsters throughout the age of 2 to still now
I been hardcore bass fishing since I was 2-3 and I’m 11 now and when I was about 4 (all I was doing was throwing curly tails senkos craws the beginner stuff) I was slinging those curlys like Tom Mann I caught a 3-4 pounder and thought it was a whale but it was still pretty big haha
I do remember what I was doing when i was 5, and that’s really cool of you brohams!
Thanks man
I love fishing but I have a fear of touching fish… the first time I went fishing I caught a little bluegill and as I grabbed it I got stabbed by its spines, idk why but I can’t get over my fear of touching any fish.
Caught the biggest fish of my life a 4 foot sturgeon at 5 years old by the Wisconsin River caught it on a bobber and worm
Best part is no license necessary for the kid
+100 uncle points
