Sacrilegious Crown (Italy) - Observances of the Apophatic Ordeal (Album 2024)

The third full-length from this Italian wizard, the third in his discography, 5 years following the great "Chenosi" full-length, and once again blending ritualistic, dragging Doom-influenced Black Metal with Dark Ambient esotericism, again binding themes of alchemy and occultism with underground cults and secret practiotioners of dismal sorcery.
Albeit actually recorded between 2020 and 2021, this release is certainly more close sonically to Sacrilegious Crown's last EP, "Forbidden Vestiges of Veneratio" , combining the dragging and haunting laments, reminiscent with projects like Defuntos, and the excellent, ominous Dark Ambient passages, with some more frequent use of witching dissonance.
