I have klx150, it's the closest type to the klx140 but for the road legal in Indonesia. When I choose to replace the stock muffler with the aftermarket one, it's the best choice to have change the carburetor to the kx85 carb's (PWK28 KX85) .jetting PJ 40, MJ 110/112. Needle jet with JJH type and the nozzle from pwk28 sudco carbs. That's the best carb for the klx 140/150. Also the intake manifold need to adapt.
We are running a tusk jet kit, slip on and a 170 big bore on the wife’s bike and it’s running perfect. The 170 kit makes more difference than any other mod you can do. If I had it to do again I’d add a big bore first and go from there.
@@FullSpeedImpulse No just the big bore and slip on for the most part and with the stock carb the intake velocity is so high it makes gobs of low end. It’s perfect for trail riding. Installing a Rekluse clutch in the morning hopefully she will like it even more out on the trails.
Also, it’s running good right now with stock exhaust. If I add a slip on only do you think stock jetting would be fine? My son is 14 and trail riding. Nothing too crazy. 🤘
I'm 14. I need to rejet this thing pretty badly. Up here in the mountains it kinda hates starting up when it's -10 degrees. Also I could use like a little more HP. What size jets do you think I should use if all I do to the bike is removing the snorkel?
Thanks!! They are stock wheels. Monster Energy Editions came with black wheels. Our buddy just bought a BBR exhaust for his 140 so we will be doing a review on that soon. Kinda Jealous.
Hey! Thanks for the video. I was wondering if your plastics have a black wrap on them or if they're actually black. I'm asking because I cant find different color plastics for my 140 to save my life. Thanks!
Yea and I can’t remember what idle is but I would think it would be about the same of 1.5 turned out. Then tune it in wear it runs best. I ran stock jetting with my stock exhaust slightly modified. But it was a smudge on the lean side. Also depends on what your elevation is too
Ooo and if you end up looking for jets. It’s sometimes easier to look up klx110 jets instead of 140. They use the same jets. Both kiehen carbs. Ones a 18mm and your 140 is a 20mm. Prolly could try a 42 pilot with a 100 main as long as your elevation is around 600ft
@Full Speed Impulse I just recieved my 48 and 105 and threw them in. I have a full pc t6 system and it seems to run real good with no lag and real snappy. I was gonna put some 1 inch uni filter plugs in the side and run it. Mines a 2022 and has never wanted to run right since i got it and put the t6 kit in. Real hard cold start and stall on a stop.
have u bought the rev box? ive also got a fmf powercore 4 its on the way anyway and was also thinking about getting a rev box but im not sure if there worth it and i also dont wanna mess up my motor with the higher rpms the rev box adds
I did some air intake mods and I was so tired of being limited in wet conditions I went back to stock. I’d personally leave it alone you won’t notice hardly any power gains. It just sounds neater. I had the air intake mods with modified stock exhaust on stock jets and it ran find to answer your question.
I would say closer to a 42/100 might be a little better for you. But I could be wrong. I rode mine from 600ft to about 1800ft on 48/100 and it was pretty good. But when I get a chance I’m either putting a bigger jet in or was thinking about installing a mikuni 22mm carb on it.

I really want to got the suspension dialed in on this. It’s a little soft for me. Did you do the cam also

Great vid by the way. Showing the idle mixture adjustment was perfect. People need to see stuff like that.
@@MikesProjectsandHobbiesMC Thanks I appreciate you saying that!!!
Good Luck with the Rekluse clutch. Always wanted to install one of those but never got around to it.

Do you have the link for the D socket?
Sounds awesome man, just curious what wheels are you running on that guy?

Can you buy them from a dealer? I’m sure it be priced spicy but at this point what you going to do?
@@FullSpeedImpulse I've only looked online, but I suppose a dealer might have em. Thanks!
Let us know what you find out!!! I’m gonna look too
Did anyone find an Amazon assortment kit that fits the stock KLX 140 Carb?
Upgrade that carb to a 22mm mikuni. You won’t regret it. Plug and play.
Is your fuel mixture “d” 1.5 times turned out when you start your tuning? How many turns is your idle screw when you start?

Did you ever pull that 48 pilot and go down a size?
I literally just got my 45/105 in the mail today 😂. I did buy a new air box cover and even with it sealed up it seems to run pretty good.

@Full Speed Impulse I have tryed a 100 main and 40 pilot and that made no difference
But your saying it runs good now with the 48/105
Make sure your adjusting your air/fuel screw too
What size is the D socket? I found a 6MM and a 8MM.
If I was a guessing man. I’d say 6mm. Just because it is pretty small.
I’m buying a 100main jet and a 40 pilot because I have a Fmf power core 4 and I’m gonna buy springs with a rev box
Sweet!!! You gonna run 15wt in the forks?

@Feet_King I do have it. I don’t think it’s necessary at all until you get into more mods.
@@FullSpeedImpulse I got it jetted now and I definitely need one you can buy stage one boxes for jets and cranks and stuff
Oh my
where do you buy the plastics???
Stock plastics. You would have to buy from a dealer if they were even available. The monster energy editions came in black.
can i do the airbox mod without re jetting? will it improve it at all?

Those are the stock plastics.
45/105 or 45/110 what works best?
I think the 110 would be to rich. What’s your elevation?
@@FullSpeedImpulse where I ride it’s about 3,100 ft
@@FullSpeedImpulse yea I think I’ll go with the 45/105
That may be a little on the rich side at that elevation. That’s pretty high up.

I’ll sell you this one for 220 plus shipping. I’ve only ran it a few times on the bike. Want to try other brands out.
