Have you thought of looking at areas further south? We have a house in a little vacation village about 500 meters right above Scilla. There was a little recreational hotel that closed in the area and I've noticed a number of really spacious very nice vacation villas on the market there now. The views of the Mediterranean are to die for - you can see the straight of Messina, Sicily, Eolian islands - even Stromboli many days. Seriously beautiful sunsets everyday. There is a village about 2 kilometers away and It's a 15 drive down to the beach in Scilla and others in the area.
Scilla is a really beautiful town, and we are indeed looking to expand our network of agents farther south to hopefully cover that area as well.

It's really a nice property. The asking price is 98,000€. You can get a mortgage if you want, but like anywhere else, unless the seller takes back their own financing, they will expect cash upon closing.
