Proper footie! I grew up learning lots of these dances 'walking' as taught by the wonderful Cecil Sharp a century ago. Then I started dancing them with historical groups like this one and found the steps added a whole new dimension. Fits much better with everything Shakespeare and other Elizabethans said about dancing -- really brought them to life.
I remember doing this at school in the 50s - at breakneck speed . But I loved English Country Dancing .
Really good footwork ,I loved the dancing so very refreshing to see good playford danced well ,and the music so delightfully played, thankyou HDS !
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it!
Never seen Gathering Peascods with such fancy footwork!
