  • I finally caved in, bought a van and am starting the #vanlife. I bought a 1982 air-cooled Vanagon Westfalia. I spent quarantine rigging it out to live in with Goal Zero yeti 1000 solar, Dometic CFF 35 cooler, foot pump sink and more! Please subscribe if you'd like to see more!

    cool to see someone else rocking an aircooled vanagon. They get so much hate for no reason.

    It's clear a lot of time was put into this build to give it those personal and practical touches. Beautiful setup dude!

    So stoked to see this! I'm looking at a 1981 Westfalia on Sunday. Looking to get it so I can go camping with my son. We live in Ocean City, MD.

    Nice idea to put a cutting board on the forward table! I'll have to do that! I have the mount from the rear table where I added a Rocky Mountain drawer.

    I wonder what kind of gas mileage did he get with it?

    • @jakekuick
      @jakekuick  3 місяці тому

      this Air-cooled van got 11-14mpg depending on how you drive it. I would pay close attention to gas mileage as it was usually how I determined when to refill (the fuel gauge didn't work most of the time). It got 19mpg for a bit when I was in the high mountains.
