Honestly, they said themselves previously that they don't play their old songs anymore because they've changed, and that they wouldn't be able to play it the same way if they did. But everyone wanted them to do the old songs so they did it the way they do now. I don't see what's so unacceptable about the slower tempo etc. It's literally their vibe right now, based on the new album.
I love thay they meander through their songs and jusy enjoy the gig and the music. Its not a race to the end of the song. I loved this gig, most songs were played normal but some parts were lingered on and savoured with the crowd and it was wonderful ti share the moment with everyone there. Lots of live music ive seen is super speed mode and to me thise gigs seems rushed and cringe.
while i dont mind this version search for the reading 2006 version its like 38mins in to the set, there no comparison there a reason why these songs were brillent back in the day it was the attitude and delivery of it thats whats missing here

With 505 and Whyd you only call me i can understand complaints over speed or singing speed coz they play it often But with mardy bum is it not good enough that theyre actually playing it? Like first time on a tour in near enough two decades. And they look to be having lots of fun with it too. Don't take this tune for granted people.
Frankly, it’s not enough. As an artist on tour , you have the right to Play the newer songs all you want , but when you play the songs that put you on that massive stage in the first place, fucking play it right , the way we fell in love with it to begin with. it’s a prickly gesture.
People who complain about tempo changes an slight lyrical changes in live music don understand live music, if you want it to be exactly the same as the recorded track then you might as well just listen to that song really loud instead of being a Mardy bum and grumbling about the live version

I’m not loving it, he seems disconnected and that accent makes me cringe 😬 feel like his alter ego seems to have taken over . seemed so honest and pure in the early days. Not my bag but still incredibly talented.
Alex Turner is an out and out genius but some of his transitions do my head in. I first saw this band when they were very young lads and they deserved the fame that came their way. The more famous AT got he went through that Elvis and LA accent thing for a few years and it was cringe and I know he must of realised or was pointed in the right direction. His vocals are awful at this concert for me.
I get what you mean but 1. He’s getting older and might need to take it down a bit 2. He’s played these songs enough times that he might be bored and changing it up for funzies and to sound more like his newest album. I think it’s ok that he’s changing it up but I do agree it gets to be annoying when the song is dragged out unnecessarily.
@@DRUMAdam91 it takes a lot of energy to constantly perform on stage. Michael Jackson (of course he was using a ton of energy by dancing) started lip syncing his tours at age 37.

Too many people underestimate how tiring live performing is for your vocal cords, it's not that he can't sing at the original tempo, he very likely still can, he just can't do it consistently show to show anymore at 100%.
The way everyone in the crowd stays silent and the secind the riff comee in they all go mental gives me chills. Cant wait for this dublin gig
