There are others out there who offer CBG building techniques, and still others who present CBG playing lessons, but you’re the best single source I know of who does both-with lots of style, expertise, and humour thrown in for good measure.     Just found ya, I've been playing cbg for years. I love your channel. My Dad started w 3 string sliders and some fretted. Now he's making Tele's and such that rival American Fenders. It's such a great art. But I always get happily married lost in 3 strings. Great channel!!!

    Hello Dale off subject here a little bit I'm having troubles with my humbucker pickup. There are so many colors and the package did not have a diagram on where to wire it. White, green with silver black and red wires what goes to what please help.

    I'm surprised you didn't bring out one with a bass string for the lowest string. I've seen them done by Mike Snowden (Mr. Evil) and Chickenbone John. I'm thinking of building a 2 string bass and running it through a psycho knob if I ever have the time to build again.

    Hi Dale. Love your videos. I am currently building a number of CBGs to demonstrate some of the different options also shown in your video. Where can I find the "template" for setting up a fret board with just intonation (as shown on your CBG at about 4min 30 in video). I usually build to scale length of 630mm (about 24 3/4") but can adapt to anything close to that.

    Maybe try making a turkish microtunal guitar?? My favourite band King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard recently tried their hand with it, around 2 years ago, and I was wondering if it might be something you might want to try to adapt to your Cigar Box Guitars.

      2 yrs late but check out "disoriented ghost" (it shows up first if ya search it) u might dig it, its got a conistent nylon fretless cigar box that plays along with microtonal guitars and such inspired by king gizz, one of my solo projects but based on yourcomment i figured id share as its both microtonal and cigar box haha

      i just put a nail thru the round end of the string and then thread the string thru the hole on the hinge

      The Fretless slider is strung with .044 .034 and .026 all wound. Corresponding to the A D and G strings

    If you dont think you can do it with 6 strings try 3, if that dont work for you gotto one string!
    If you ain't got rythem or timing, try snapping your toes, to the beat & hopefully it will come to you! ( "the jerk" movie reference)
    If you dont think one string will work, check out, Bushy One String's "Chicken in the corn!" LoL
