Mission 104: Submarine Carrier Defense Operation

The submarine carrier Pandora was attacked by Scylla.
She was damaged and had to surface urgently.
She is anchored near the coast while receiving support from land.
A Guard Team that was formed to protect the Pandora is already en route.
You're to join the Guard Team with a follow-up unit.
Please assist the Pandora.

Note: I'm not native speaker so the translation might not be 100% correct. I also didn't translate all the random lines the soldiers sometimes spout during battle, only the main dialogue!
It's still useful for anyone who doesn't want to wait for a western release.

You cannot believe how much joy this one statement brought me. Humanity is fighting back! EDF! EDF! EDF!
Okay, this is the best mission so far, huge potential for farming, chaotic battle, can see the submarine for the first time and a mothership encounter all in one. just awesome!

Ngl the song at the end made me tear up a little. After all the shit Storm 1 and the professor went through, not only in this game but also in EDF 5, seeing them destroy one of the primer's motherships was downright glorious. Also the new song symbolizes this huge turn really well. It wasn't the usual signs of victory theme that represents storm 1's rousing determination or hype but instead a theme that represents him feeling hope. After so many missions where he was fighting a losing battle to repel them or struggling just to survive, this time it was a genuine victory. At long last, storm 1 finally feels hopeful about being able to save the EDF and humanity as a whole.
Maybe I'm just overanalyzing this too much but I really love the way EDF handles its storytelling.
They nailed it this time. Time travel, I didn't expect that. It's still a cheesy series though but that's fine. (LOL 🤣)It's still pure fun. :)
According to the developer's interview, it seems that he was worried about whether to put the submarine further offshore or closer to the front.
In reality, the submarine would run aground if it was in the foreground, but it seems to have been placed in the foreground in order to give priority to making it easier to see.
This is the best mission so far, you can see the submarine battling againts the mothership and then saw it submerged into the ocean
A mother ship down, a sub carrier saved, and edf has learned how to take down teleportation ships five months early. It seems the alien time travel plot may be backfiring
Finally able to see our handy dandy Submarine.
Though it sad to see that it's cannons are just for cosmetic purposes only on this mission.
Doesn't seem like it's hitting anything or dealing any damage.

well hot damn, thats the submarine carrier. Although.... it does not look like a carrier, more like a battleship, or battlecruiser or something that can submerge. One that doesnt have any secondary guns for the matter, seem relying entirely on missiles but becomes almost defenseless with the launchers damaged.
From what I heard, this Submarine carrier is escorted by submarines fleet when it goes on an op in the deep sea. But once it needs repair, it doesnt go to dock or anything, it exposes itself on the surface and had to rely on land army support to defend itself. Looked like it consist of mostly the Gepard AA and some Blacker/Gigante/Leopard tank in this mission, could be more than that though.
Speaking of..... those AA vehicle, imagine if most mission EDF deployed those, they seem more useful than the usual tank. It just too bad we don't see vehicle getting better and stronger the higher difficulty we chose, or further down the line. They all come standard despite the description saying there is better version of it, and there is more of those.
Aaaaaa Those AA are more good against Air target. For ground you really need Tank for splash damage

Well aleast there are mods that you can mess around and make them use stronger vehicles. (Although it ended up making the game easier)
With higher difficulty, the vehicles only comes with more HP. Just it, no better AI, better guns, or anything else.

From interview with director of developer, in fact Submarine carrier have ability of launch fighter plane. however it wasn't show off and didn’t explained in EDF5&6.

With the box saved from the Mothership, the seeds inside it can be opened in the future to blossom into beautiful flowers
Stay tuned for the next mission, it will be epic even though it's not the epic mission in EDF6

Damn, that submarine carrier is MASSIVE!!! After destroying the Mothership I was under the impression we were playing a Final Fantasy game there for a moment, the BGM certainly sounded like it at least XD
The Submarine, is so big and those primary canon it's using automatic mode, it's like ultimate ammo lol.
Well aleast it's useful for taking out swarms of enemies.
About time they showed the carrier when it was relegated to radio chatter in the last game.
Now, imagine if they can get their hands on Primer engine tech, The submarine carriers become airborne! XD

It was an accident. I'm out with friends tonight so I made _two_ vids yesterday, uploaded one and "scheduled" the other for today (there's an option here to upload a video but make it public at a later time). Seems like either I messed up or UA-cam did but either way, it's out there now so enjoy some early EDF today 😉

You let all the NPCs die! Obviously you waited too long to kill the teleportation ships. Also, I bet the devs were tempted to require a bit of speed in this mission, meaning the cannon has to be destroyed before it can nuke the carriers. But alas, no matter how long you wait, the carrier always survives.
Imagine if there is "Destroy the cannon before the carrier completely destroy" in this game. It will be a new type of frustration for the players and this mission will remembered as the most hardest mission in all EDF games😂
@@linkersjacken8032 EDF World Brothers already tried the bit with defending an objective. It just doesn't feel like an EDF game if you have to do that.

Ceno, the edf army should let our hero storm team 1 ranger do one man army solo missions, since our hero has the knowledge of the alien invaders 🤣😂
Nah that will be boring if you ask me since there are so many one man army types of games out there. Allowing you to interference the battlefield and making your allies survive or victory is one of the unique charm about this game. (Also the reason why I'm not a big fan of IR😄)

11:01 YES!!!!!! TAKE THAT YOU SON OF BITCH!!!!!! (For story reason, I'm pretty sure you suppose to destroy that cannon within 3 or less shots before the submarine carrier destroyed. Luckily it doesn't have that kind of mechanic in this game 😆)

@@cenorexia Yep, not surprising. This franchise isn't exactly Mass Effect after all.
And obviously if they'd let you import all your old classes' weapons and/or armor it would take most of the fun & challenge out of EDF 6. But given how intricately tied EDF 6 is to EDF 5, it feels like a missed opportunity. Maybe if you beat EDF 5 you could get some nifty bonus gear, or like a 10% boost to weapons & armor so you really do play more like a badass from the future who's more ready than everyone else.
How that submarine house the Tempest cruise missile ?? Also the Mothership have zero loot :(
