And it's not like near realistic VR games don't exist, this game just got the Quest/Mobile game treatment because that's where the players are. Current day VR doesn't have to look like this, it just that brown nosing Meta while nerfing PC too is the by far the most profitable way to make VR games right now.
I think the key to keep VR alive is coop, more than anything. Real interaction with real people. I'm not a VRchat player but damn, playing single player games in VR feels lonely.
Pvp in vr almost always turns into a slog fest of exploits as well (guardian exploits)
Coop games with an emphasis on cooperative actions, makes VR so much fun!
Facts
I agree! VR really elevates co-op by bringing in a level of "in person" interaction between friends that just isn't possible in flat games. The gaming industry doesn't seem to have much realized this yet. They're continuing on with the assumption that the kinds of games that are most popular in flat will also be the most popular in VR. But I expect that co-op games will become much more popular in VR than they ever were in flat. Possibly even becoming the dominant kind of VR game.
But right now, VR co-op games are few and far between. It's really an untapped genre.

I totally agree... for its low poly look, the gameplay "feels" amazing... the simplicity of it all is just fun
The graphics also make it easy to play without having a cable linked to you, allowing more freedom of movement.

This game is awesome. You should also look into Geronimo. It's not out yet but it's what you talked about at the start of the video. More realistic looking, high poly, think it'll be a contender for sure. Such a good year for VR Ghosts of Tabor, Tactical Assault, Breachers, and Geronimo. Hopefully we see Project ARES come out too.

Such an amazing game for such an amazing price. Without a doubt, everyone with a quest 2 or pcvr should purchase this game. Its a lot of fun and its definitely an experience needed to be...well, experienced, in VR. fantastic video aswell man!
My favorite game hands down. Great CQB simulation training. Tacticool advice: when in dark spaces, it’s a good idea to “spot flash” your lights so you’re not constantly giving away your position.

I got this game like 2-3 days ago and I’m already saying it’s better than onward
Onward 1.7 was nearly like Tactical Assault VR in terms of gameplay - much better graphics of course.
Unfortunately, selling out to Meta seems to come with the consequence of selling the very soul of your game. The 1.8 update for Quest compatibility destroyed everything I loved about Onward, and it's really only gone downhill from there, sadly.

Can’t wait until vr doesn’t cost as much as a new gaming setup, but it is amazing with the right setup. Saw Linus tech doing a review on the ps5 vr, and as a Sony hater, I was blown away

Graphics make something pretty but they don’t make them fun. Cant wait to get my hands on this game, just a couple months till I’ll have room for VR

Tactical Assault VR has a much slower movement speed than the other VR FPS games out there currently.
Not saying it will fix you, but maybe you could start with that game for 10 to 15 minutes at a time, stop when you feel the slightest bit of discomfort, and then try again the next day? I know some people who were able to slowly increase their playtime over weeks and months of incremental increases until they got where they were comfortable doing it every day for a couple hours eventually.
In the past I would have recommended Onward for a slow movement speed game, but they sped it up quite a bit since the early days. Tactical Assault VR is now officially the slowest - and my personal favourite since it more directly resembles real life movement speed, rather than running around like a cartoon character as in the other games.
For me it took a solid week or so using VR everyday to get over the motion sickness. It fades with use. I recommend playing until the first signs appear then quit for the day. Do that again over and over and watch the playtime increase

Same - it's everything I've dreamed of since playing my 1st FPS back on N64!
I hope Twisted Barrel keeps their commitment to bringing a true tactical experience to life, and doesn't get distracted by noisy community members who want to turn it into another CoD VR.
if their faces have around 16 or 12 hexagons on them its probably a good game

Everytime someone throws Tarkov in for "Immersive" I die a bit inside. Yeah, it's Immersive to have enemies take 20 shots to the chest and you take 1 and die. Either way, proof that graphics don't mean shit in the end. If you got what you wanted, the game wouldn't run on just the headset, let alone being streamed from your PC

I figure you meant “realistic looking in the title. It’s a shame many people judge these games by their style alone. Especially in indie projects, utilising low poly styles can enable a larger scale vision, stable frame rates, and an increased ability to focus more on the functionality rather than the appearance. If you take a quick look around, it’s clear most people base their impressions exclusively on graphical components. Not a one way street however, I see too many lazy demos with ray tracing receive an overwhelming reception. Nothing you can do about it I guess…just a shame.
I just picked this up on quest 2. Really digging it so far. Definitely not perfect, walls eating guns and equipment.

Too bad its absolutely broken on Windows Mixed Reality. Can't aim properly, can even open menus, mag drops when fire mode is changed.. etc
I’ve been playing it and haven’t had any mag dropping issues my only issue mainly has been just getting 1 tapped

What makes you think that? Not all vr games are low poly.
I wouldn't consider it "gate keeping" when you are trying to keep people from winging it and acting like kids or movie stars in what are life and death situations for you and those around you.... people calling out crap from role players pretending to be SF guys should be encouraged not labeled "gate keeping" lol. That's right up there with that Detroit survival tactics guy, that shit will straight up get you AND your loved ones dead 11 out of 10 times lol. That being said, anything can be used as a practice tool if you practice RIGHT, video games included (we've been dabbling with video games in the army for a while now)
