Thanks Minesh n Adwait! I looked up about the trek to Phalut & it seems great. I m damn excited to go for this. Is it compulsary there to take guides along with you to Sandakhpu as I would like to do this trek on my own?!
Be with your guide during the beginning because there are few buddhist temples just 4-5 kms from Maneybhanjan, which you might miss if you're walking ahead of your guide, nd he would also suggest you with some shortcuts to trek up. You'll also find plenty of Red Pandas & few wild yaks. nd if you have enough days, then i would recommend you to carry on your trek to Phalut, which is about 21 kms easy way ahead of Sandakphu.
hey avijit...i wud recommend u to carry minimum necessary things for 3-4 days trek like enough clothing (as weather will be pleasantly cool), good sport shoes, glucon-d, some sweets & most importantly a big torch... Also learn some photography tips if u r carrying a good camera, coz this place has a mesmerizing scenic beauty... And yaa...U r set 2 go...!!!
it is mandatory to take a guide with each group. Taking a porter is at your own wish or need. This is just to provide employment to local youths. Guide in this route is not necessary

we stayed at shikhar lodge (tumling) and sunrise lodge at sandakphu....namo buddha @ sandakphu is also good option..
