impressive hard work! the decisions to slide forward instead of both them sideways to go faster, to die to take damage in the fall instead of explode in the bosses.. thats tough.. I imagine it recquires a full game planning, mapping stage by stage, area by area before even start the TAS, not just start the game and try to get faster not getting hit. Today I can beat my super ghouls and ghosts for my snes without lose 1 life, in the console itself, but it took me time (since the 90's lol) to memorize all the areas, parts of the game, enemies and bosses patterns, I imagine you gotta do the same but seeing the whole game as a puzzle!
I like how Rocky can turn into a statue, which is kinda similar to Tanooki Mario from SMB3. There's a LOT to love about this game! Thanks for the upload =)

So is there some kind of cheat your using because i beat this game many times and there’s no way the bosses are just dying from one explosion shot like that
TAS author here. No cheats involved. The bombs are highly damaging (200 damage every few frames when most bosses have 2048 health or less) but their time and area of effect are very limited. By keeping Rocky's bomb animation (which is the better of the two) and boss sprite overlapped for as long as possible, it can can very nearly, if not completely kill many bosses. However, reaching that maximum overlap can involve frame-perfect timing, sub-pixel-perfect positioning, and the blessings of RNGeesus. If even just one of those things don't work out in a "live" player's favor, they're now 200+ damage short by comparison, and forced to make it up with their regular 16 damage shots.

The effort you went to to plan out and mess around during downtime kept me both pleased and thoroughly impressed.

It's true, when I played with Rocky at level 4, the boss died from 2 super attacks, something that surprised me
