Weird...im Persian and never experienced that. We had a LOT of gatherings and unexpected visits...but we were always prepared. And Ive never experienced any guests or especially family behaving in such an ungrateful manner. Its unheard of in our culture. The guests do TOO much and want to help with everything. Interesting none the less.
@@thedarkknight2221 We have a saying, "tarroff".....its a tough one to translate but it stems from being TOO polite. Persians have a tendency to be over polite in social situations. For example if you're out eating, everyone INSISTS that they will cover the bill, or they INSIST that they will help with the cleaning etc.... and that goes for everything.....any type of inconvenience, people will insist on helping. When it comes to who will have the first or last bite, everyone stops and insist that "no no please, YOU go ahead".... we make fun of it ourselves yet we still do it (especially older people).

I gave my brother a place to stay while he was looking for a job. All I asked while he was looking for a job was to clean. He made a mess. Ate a months worth of food in a week. It was so bad. After about a few months, I called my mother and told her to take him back because I couldn't stand it.

Haha! I can relate to Nevi, because to this day I’m that single uncle that has a home and what not but when it comes to my cousins. I cleaned the whole house for them and told them, you can stay as long as you want’ and I just let it go, I let their kids draw on the walls and break some mirrors and just walk around like I don’t give a f*ck! Then when they call my parents or their parents saying ‘cousin’ doesn’t take care of himself and he smokes and drinks and only takes a shower once a week! And they tell them ‘Well, that’s your cousins house and that’s how he lives he pays his own bills, what are you doing?’ I grew up ghetto, but I worked my ass for my own house, and I seriously let my nieces and nephews bring in a pony and their favorite chicks. To this day I’m always told ‘They don’t want to invite you’ but I’m like, whatever you wanna have a bonfire in my back yard?! 😂
I actually lived in with my cousins while my house was being fumigated and worked on, it was cramped and I could tell they wanted us out, so while we did do our part and helped out we still left early and lived in my current house with no AC and electricity for a 2 months, In Florida. We now made sure we’d never live like that again, reinforced house and a gas powered generator, now they come to us when they have no electricity during hurricane season.
