Instead of sanding the tubes on the mask, you can also heat the plastic tube on the filter, which should make it expand a bit, and slide it in while it is hot and malleable. As it cools down it will shrink and seal tightly.

A dab of vaseline or silicone would help it go all the way in, come back out in the case of the vaseline, and help it seal better too.

You could also use hoses, clamp them to the tubes on the mask, then an adapter to a bigger hose and clamp *that* to the outside of the filter tube (or a RD40 filter cap with a hole in the middle)

hello, can you tell me how long is the diameter of the direct port of the mask and the elbow?... dou you have or know any proyect to 3D print a connector for that snorkel to 3M cartidges? (because those filters you are using are hard to find here in Peru)
