1:40. It is so ironic how much I relate to you, and how I have grown into myself and evolved by watching your videos. I am extroverted, the life of the party, loud AND boisterous. Yet in so many ways, I feel you're psychologically my twin. We're both film buffs, deep thinkers, candid & I'm also a realism portrait artist!
Hey Maggie, hope you don’t mind me commenting on an older video… Congrats on the 50K subs!! (Since you haven’t done a 50K video yet, I admit I probably joined round about that point, as I only discovered your channel recently) Congrats, also, on having one of the most profoundly interesting channels which I’ve come across. I’ve never actually spent a huge amount of time watching movies, but only because I haven’t tended to have that much spare time for watching them - but I do really enjoy them. I especially love movies from the 1940s/50s/60s and think they have a special kind of magical quality. Seeing your review videos here, I noticed that you’ve reviewed some of my favourites, including Fantasia. I’ve always loved Art, including Photography, and I’ve always been a huge fan of music, so coming across this channel has really felt like unearthing a hidden gem. There are so many videos here which feel really relatable! I’m really looking forward to watching more new videos as you post them. Big respect! 👏
i have seen these milestone videos at different points and whenever a new one comes up I look back and think about where was I in my life at that time ... never stop keep goin we love you, Maggie
After several samplings of your commentary--nice and simple format, dig that, no flashing lights or wacky effects --I am about to smash the SUBSCRIBE gizmo! Good stuff!
You are the only film review UA-cam channel that I watch now and you’ve definitely turned me on to movies and filmmakers that I didn’t know were always there, so thank you and congratulations on 40k! You deserve it.
Although 40k is an amazing achievement, you really deserve so many more. I’ve spend days watching your reviews and cannot get enough! I relate to you on so many levels; film school drop out, grew up drawing and still do, introverted, lover of nature and has struggled with mental illness. Thank you and all the best going forward. ❤️
great job!!! everytime me and my dad watch a new release or old classic I always check to see if you've reviewed it after we watch. You have a very unique voice and perspective that feels fresh compared to most of the movie reviews on UA-cam. Congratulations 🎉
Hearing that you majored in writing helps explain your remarkable ability to express your thoughts in the reviews you post. Combined with your verbal ability, subject knowledge and PASSION, it all makes for an effective presentation. Particularly since you don't rely on illustrating your points by showing clips from the films you discuss, as is the practice with most reviewers. Anyway, congrats on the 40k milestone! You earned it!
Congrats on 40k. I wanted to say that I like the way you shoot your videos. I think a lot of people feel the need to go crazy with production value but I always prefer simpler approaches. From a creator standpoint it keeps it really simple to setup and record but as a viewer I gravitate towards creators that don’t do too much crazy backgrounds and edits and all this stuff.
Congrats Maggie on 40k subs. I've been watching for a while and your reviews are insightful and have always broadened the way I not only view film but types of media. I know you cover film almost exclusively and have heard from some videos here and there about your opinions on other TV shows such as The Sopranos or Breaking Bad, but what has absolutely captivated me and hit all the right notes as of late has been Better Call Saul. It's undoubtedly a more nuanced, richer in visual storytelling, and more mature series than Breaking Bad. It'd be so great to not only have you enjoy what it has to offer but for you to share one day your thoughts on arguably the best TV series on right now.
The first question that you answered was very helpful, I know exactly how you feel regarding overcoming insecurities, and it’s nice to know that I’m not alone.
Hello Maggie, good evening! A lots congratulations 👏🎉🥳 for reaching 40 K subscribers for your channel. For the last year, I have seen many videos of yours. I remember the first recommendation of UA-cam to watch a video of yours, early October 2020, "The Dark Night (2008)". Ever since, I always watch any new video edited for you. I send you a hug 🤗, with respect and affection. Greetings from Sonora, México 🇲🇽🥰👍, which is a border state with Arizona, USA 🇺🇲. Blessings 🙏💕, take care, bye-bye 👋.
Maggie! It’s great that you’ve come this far. I remember a video of yours popping up on my recommend and I’ve never looked back since. I’ve watched most of your stuff during quarantine along with rlm. It’s so great when there are people that know more than you so that you can learn more, and that’s what you’ve done for me with films! Thank you and I hope your community keeps on growing. Also, have you seen Don’t look up? If you have, I’d love to hear your input on it. If not, don’t. It’s terrible and a waste of time.
congratulations!!! i have learned of so many amazing movies from ur videos. after i see you posted a review on something i immediately add it to my watchlist and i probably wouldnt be so much into older or arthousey movies without u. persona is my fav btw, have u seen Funeral Parade of Roses? its a very surreal and experimental film with a lot of freudian ideas so i thought u might like it.
She's pretty. She has an elegant/sophisticated vibe about her. Almost what I imagine a victorian would be like if brought to modern times. But most of all she's NOT: another dude-bro movie reviewer.
To the guy who posted the first question, I am also very introverted and when I started my UA-cam channel I was worried about becoming the laughing stock of the internet. But I soon realised that the vast majority of videos get hardly any views, the hard part is getting anyone to watch them in the first place. So you can just make fun videos to entertain yourself and build up your skills, and by the time you do start getting negative comments you should have built up enough confidence that it won't bother you so much.
I had a very similar film school experience! I love the medium and naturally gravitated to studying it in college, but I never had a specific specialty that I wanted to pursue in the industry. I have a degree in film and use those skills in general on this platform, but have no intention on ever making a feature.
Thanks for the journey you've taken us all on so far, with more to come... Also, did you not review "The Lobster" yet??? Shame!!! :) (Honestly given your tastes expressed on this channel I think you would FALL IN LOVE with The Lobster... It was a game changer for me)
Hey DFL: If you like the music from Carousel, you might like Roland Kirk's famous jazz version of If I Loved You, which he performed in 1973: ua-cam.com/video/vlcpPvXIbD8/v-deo.html
Congrats, Maggie, may you keep growing! Also RIP to Ray Liotta, a terrific actor.
Yes sad inspired to watch GoodFellas again.
You’re the only reviewer that discusses movies today like Roger Ebert once did
Agreed i loved Rog and i love Maggie shes amazing.
Wow. That's a compliment right there.
That’s interesting. Personally I think Maggie expresses her opinion way more like Gene Siskel did. In a good way.
If you like Ebert and Maggie. Try Mark Kermode. He's fantastic.
@@michaeldeery9014 I LOVED his Kermode Uncut segment he used to do. Very similar to how Maggie interacts with her audience
Here's to 40k more and beyond. Congrats, Maggie. You earned it.
What's her full name?
Found you after seeing Climax. Think you were sub 5k back then. Glad my favourite review channel is growing :D

Well Done! Here's to 401K. A Little Extra can't Hurt. Wishing You Continued Success!
You're the only reviewer I watch anymore. You deserve way more subscribers.

Love your site. When is your next q and a?
Here's a question for the next q&a; which celebrities do you think secretly watch your show?

love ya maggie!
Congrats Maggie on 40K! Just curious if you have seen any films from India, and if so, do you have any favourites?
It's so enjoyable listening to you ramble on about nothingness. You could totally do a weekly podcast or something.
Thanks for the journey you've taken us all on so far, with more to come... Also, did you not review "The Lobster" yet??? Shame!!! :) (Honestly given your tastes expressed on this channel I think you would FALL IN LOVE with The Lobster... It was a game changer for me)
