Tips:
- South African passport holders don’t need a visa for Thailand
- Cash is king in Thailand so make sure you withdraw some cash at the airport when you arrive
- Most hotels will ask for a 1000THB deposit when you check in (they prefer cash)
- If you don’t book your activities online you can always book them when you arrive in Thailand. Just compare the prices.
- My travel dates were 27 January- 3 February 2024
- With the group trips you’ll be required to pay an extra fee (200THB) if your hotel is outside of the central beach areas
- Everyone in Thailand was nice and friendly and it’s easy to get around and do things even when you’re alone.

Phuket is full of SA tourists. So much fun. A home away from home. I am going back in October
It was really fun.
@emilyboitumelo if you ever go back consider staying at The Nature in Patong. We paid R1300 per room with a sea view and balcony including a huge buffet breakfast. It was sooo luxurious. Met a lot of Saffas who were staying there as well and the staff were so friendly and helpful 😀
