Almost embarrassed to say that Yellowstone brought me to these guys....lifelong rock n roll fan that is just now finding GOOD country and expanding my listening preferences. Better late than never!
I dare you to listen to townes van zandt then. That's a deep rabbit hole. Townes is the greatest songwriter you've probably never heard of but guaranteed you've heard other ppl cover his music. Whiskey Myers is from about 20 mins from where I grew up and Time out is a real place in Tyler Texas and was a great strip club but it never reopened after lockdown.
@@codykalb2596I really dig his version of two girls . It was on another tribute record to townes. Steve is my cousin so he laced me up on tvz at a young age. Introduced me to him the same night I met Dylan. Sucks bc I was a kid and couldn't possibly grasp who or what that night would mean to me but still ....
I accidentally walked into their small live set in a music festival just before they played this song, i got to watch them so close and it was the best accident I ever had. They are unbelievable🥹
Great story in these lyrics. Song’s like this are the reason we love honkytonk and southern rock. Blue collar shit that us blue collar slaves can relate to in all our lives. Stories of the working class. Great job Whiskey Myers! Why do us Americans spell whiskey with an E in it?!
Listening in Ireland ..... resonates with everyone, we all know those people destined for greatness.....one reason or another it all fell apart. Recently heard of the passing of a girl everybody fancied when we were In school .... she was a vision, untouchable to us mere mortals....ended up destroyed with drink & drugs....
I heard this song first time back in like 2016. I was working as a welder with some big wigs in Pampa TX. Now I serve the US Army. Hahahaha what happened. Good ole days good ole times
I was mesmerized by this song and his voice. Totally amazing. I listened intently, afraid to move because I didn't want to miss a second of the performance!
Ive been a hard alt rock n metal muaic fan for many years and i saw this song covered by another band who malgamated the 1st verse of alice n chains song nutshell and it blew me away, what an amazing song
I was a baby born and raised in the early 80s!!!! My daddy was also a truck driver and I grew up in a Peterbuilt!!!! Best time of my life. Roniie Van Zant is MY HERO!!!! Whiskey Myers brings me back to Skynyrd!!!!! The most amazing band , now!!!!
He was probably really drunk he's singing with his eyes closed I play a lot drunk and when I start singing with my eyes closed I can truly feel the music and you tend to play it slower lol
He seems completely off in this version. Like he can't remember the song properly. He's missing a down stroke on his rhythm and it's throwing off his lyric timing. You can see it at points where he has to stop and then keep singing because he's missed the timing. His harmonica is also played differently. His bandmates notice as well.
It's live music homie. There will be inconsistencies. Plus it looks like they've been sipping the juice. Give em some grace. Live music is a different beast.

Whiskey with an e is form the correct spelling of Irish Whiskey, as opposed to Scotch Whisky.

Love how they are passing out beers in the middle of the song. Classic. Won't ever see them in this setting again.

He lives pretty close to where they are from. Bout an hour
HELL,
THE DRUMMER HAS IT MADE!!!
MORE LYNYRD THAN SKNYRD
Carla Thrift I said the same thing. Like a modern day Lynard Skynard. I had my picture taken with the band

This is how I go to sleep .
It will be nice if they play at our restaurant

i aint got no money
It seems like he was messing up a little to me. Or he’s playing it slower for some reason.
