I used to live in Roswell, NM and one thing people generally don't know about NM is that there is rampant untreated schizoaffective disorders and psychosis in that state. When I lived there it felt like everyone had at least one person in their family suffering from obvious psychosis. Part of it is a result of the American government treating NM like a bomb testing playpen (causing environmental factors that make people physically and mentally sick through generations), but a lot of it is a lack of adequate treatment resources (and a lot of people therefore just... living with untreated psychosis). So whilst I am saying "the bodies reported at the Roswell crash 100% could've been manifestations of schizoaffective telephone," I'm saying it with a degree of seriousness asking people to look at the situation with empathy instead of the usual response--which is "oh, if you said you saw something in NM, what were you smoking and how much did you drink with it?"
Anyway, sorry to bring the mood down a bit, but I really loved this ep! Honestly the crash really impacted the culture in Roswell, so any video talking about it brings back happy memories.

also a new mexican, born and raised. this is a really empathetic response & it's really lovely to see someone note it. there's such bad mental illness here (as well as drug use & the whole downwinder mess as you noted) that i think it really affects the culture and attitude, including the roswell crash. i do kinda wanna point out, too, that the proximity to the bases also fucks w everyone's heads, as i'm sure you know. it's like oooh what IS the air force doing down there? (and don't get me started on those fuckers at white sands lol) there's all this weird shit the government gets up to that most of us just don't know about. so add that paranoia to the pre-exisiting rates of mental illness et cetera & it's really primed for that sort of deal.
also -- utterly off topic here, but s/o to roswell for unironically having one of the most kickass municipal art museums i've seen! 10/10 would go again

I have a ton of family in Roswell, been down there quite but over the years, it's definitely a strange little town with some quirky people for sure!
While there is certainly a case for the treatment of mental illness down there, I think the reason Roswell comes up so much isn't really from the residents as much as it's the government's initial response and reports that were later completely denied/covered up that people still hang onto. Like they didn't really do a good job of getting their story straight in the beginning, and so it will forever be the thing people point to.
Also fun fact, while it's always listed as the Roswell incident(because it was the closest real town), it was actually about 70 miles away as the crow (or ufo) flies 😅

the pentagon doesn't get to decide when hearings to investigate them are held or on what topic.
Instead, consider if you will that one of the witnesses of said hearing testified that a considerable amount of money was being misappropriated to fund UFO acquisition and reverse-engineering programs. Perhaps it's not the distraction, it's the cause.

She worked there during the 60s, 70s and 80s, so she helped to make sure everything went from physical documents to the government’s actual records database. I say all that just to say that, without actually telling me, she pretty much confirmed that Area 51 was nothing more than a tech and weapons testing and development facility. It’s just a factor of time though. Give us a million years of societal and technological evolution, and we’re definitely going to be spread far across the galaxy, and just like we have nature preserves, it’s not inconceivable that we’d have sanctuary planets that we could go to as long as we don’t try to mess around too much and don’t leave much of a trace.

@@derp195 You are aware that the nearest star, let alone any discussion of planets suitable for life, is over 25T miles away, right? It took four days to get to the moon. To put that in perspective, traveling at that same speed, it would take nearly 17,000 _years_ to make it just to the nearest star outside of our solar system, let alone across another galaxy. Since Ryan quoted Carl Sagan, I'll also point out that he argued that any society that has the technology to travel across galaxies is also highly likely to destroy itself. Considering that we're pretty close to it with the technology we have, I don't have the optimism that a million years from now that Earth as we know it will have life.

Even just with the technology we’re working on today, we could reach a significant amount of the galaxy in that timeframe.

This was actually a far more respectful and wonderfully made video than I expected from the topic of aliens. Unfortunately, one of my favourite UA-camrs recently made a video about aliens, and it went down the same typical pipeline I've seen before of "the ancient non-white people couldn't do anything for themselves, it was all aliens" that I've seen time and time again from other channels, and I didn't at all expect that behaviour from him, so I was genuinely nervous and worried about watching this one because of how betrayed I felt by that video.
All in all, this was very well-made, covered a lot of alien proof and did it all without having to bring down the accomplishments of ancient people of colour. I can't say I'm shocked, because I knew Ryan was a better and more intelligent person than that, and even if something slipped through, Shane would immediately tell Ryan about how that's the wrong way of thinking (that's what best friends are for), but it was still a pleasant reminder that there are still great people on this site who just have differing beliefs.

Y’all should really listen to the “it’s probably not aliens” podcast, it debunks a LOT of these sightings

YES, I love that show! That and another podcast, "Spooky Science Sisters," has really taught me a lot and made me extremely skeptical of alien conspiracies. They're both extremely entertaining to listen to though, so it's a good trade-off to lose a little whimsy in order to be more informed, lol

Ryan seems to think he asked Shane if Shane thinks Aliens have flown to Earth. All Ryan asked was if Shane thinks Aliens fly ships.

Yeah, it was a question without sufficient clarification, so Shane really took advantage of that ambiguity.

Great video! But there is a minor mistake in your reporting: Nimitz incident "the tictac" took place 2004 near the pacific ocean. The two videos you showed, gimbal and go fast, declassified by the DoD took place in 2014-2015 near the Atlantic ocean.

Absolutely need a Mystery Files (or podcast!) episode on Skinwalker Ranch. Head investigator (Dr. Travis Taylor) was the chief scientist for the UAP Task Force (during the first couple of years of research on the ranch in secret), possibly finding initial scientific evidence of a Lorentzian traversable wormhole, mass amounts of documented UAPs-the kind of research that could change our perception of the universe as we know it.

I have been a longtime viewer and I love every second of this channel that I watch. The content is so creative and thoughtfully planned, the skits are great, and these two have been a major influence and inspiration for me during these tough times. I both value and appreciate their channel and all the hard work they put into it.
    Thank you Ryan and Shane!
