Hey! I recognize myself alot in the little we just saw of you so I have a few questions here. I usually lose interest after a few games into ranked every season. Always place in high bronze and climb from like B2 to B1 before I quit in favour of QP cause I want to just be able to leave a game if I dont find it interesting though Im always left with the feeling that I could climb if I just stuck with it :P . Looks to me like you could climb which is why Im curious, are you playing consistently or are you in and out like me?
Trying to figure out if my low placing is due to it being normal for someone with limited comp play in the last 15 seasons or if its due to me being worse than I think I am xD

My assumption was just that you don't use projectile often, Your accuracy on soldier was more than fine, The projectiles seemed to throw you off.
If I was to guess tho I'd have assumed Ball was either console or just very low sens, they seemed to struggle with tracking a few times

I didn't guess Ying, but my reasoning for thinking it was Edwardhyde was that their team didn't have as much time left at cap and I felt it was due to a lack of pressure from the ball making space.
In terms of hampter, I knew pretty clearly near the beginning. He died several times within the opening part of the match, never using adaptive shield, mobility was alright but definitely could have been better, and his ult wasn't ever on the enemy or zoning. Then he also doesn't roll aggressively, which is crucial for damage and ult charge. From how the DPS were playing, I was pretty confident I wouldn't be dying nearly as much and I'm probably about silver (I don't play comp much).
Andrew was playing corners and especially when we first spectate his echo notice how he peak shoots. Probably doesn't play echo hence why he wasn't that good first round. That first bit alone made me confident he wasn't bronze and was probably just on a bad hero.
The Ashe? No clue. Dude's leagues above me and my DPS rank is gold rn. Only thing I noticed is not unscoping when shooting hampter for faster shots, but if I could play like that I'd be chilling.
I’m the ball! I do try to use adaptive as much as possible but I’m still pretty bad at figuring out cooldowns (I’m learning tho!!) which could’ve probs been the issue, Ty for the slight tips tho!! Will definitely be using

The only reason I didn't think ball was he could've picked a tank he's not good with. I'm terrible at ball and doom. Pretty sure if I played either in comp I'd be considered the bronze 😅
Spoilers to after the final reveal:
I think part of the reason Ashe hit so many dynamites is that when you don’t adjust your aim after throwing one, you will always hit it. When you look back at the gameplay, all of those dynamite hits were as soon as the Ashe could shoot so there was no long range dynamites. It still is good to explode it, but it’s not hard. So with Emongg using that almost life hack as reasoning to not suspect it was her was throwing him off. But overall, I think both teams had good coverups to confuse everyone. Well played.
well there's also timing that goes into it, and the ashe was pretty decent at actually following up and killing people, even if it was mostly body shots. Tbh I was surprised lol

I think what he meant by the Ashe hit their dynamites was that they put them in good enough positions that they hit enemies with the dynamites, I don’t think he was surprised by them shooting the dynamite

prior to final reveal I think its andrew and ghostpants, andrew seems obvious. for ghost pants, it kind of seemed they used cooldowns at the first opportunity and they happened to work out some times, they missed lots of primary shots, and were dead first or late to a lot of engagements
That ball moment at the start of the match solidified Edward for me instantly.
I had Ender for the red team tho. Mostly because their names are so similar and I thought it would be funny...

Seeing the grapple usage of Edwardhyde, I was pretty sure it was him, but Ying was a huge surprise!
I got Edward right. At first I thought he was trolling (as in faking being bronze) because of his overwhelming crab mode usage and because he was the frontline. He always approached from the front. But his movement was pretty bad and as a ball player, it really isn't easy to fake it. You go for grapples intuitively and bonking into walls on purpose would be difficult I think. That said, I dont mean to say hes bad, just clearly not platinum. The ashe however? She better get boosted to plat with the SR reset this season

People forget.. its annoyingly hard to push ranks as teammates especially in bronze- silver sometimes be braindead.. ive played with godly teammates and ive also played with people who end the game with 300 dmg as a dps

For the other team I thought it’d be Nightwarrior as everyone got crossed off the list because of how good they were playing and I didn’t pay attention to what this person was doing

For the "ghostpants" name, 99% of names that are a word and then the word pants, it's most likely one of the automatic names. One of the other automatic names is Aventurier

Would love this concept even more if you kept pitting different ranks against eachother if they were not allowed to be fake bad. Id love to be able to really compare different ranks.
Edward I could see, though he wasn't my first guess (I was split between the dps on his team). But Ying was the bronze for the other team? YING? I play at plat-masters level and would have been happy to have someone playing at his level on my team. Endersaltz was my guess for Ying's team, and honestly if hes silver he might be a bit boosted. Moira doesn't have much in regards to mechanics and he was failing at that pretty bad. No orb before ults. No jump out of fade. No strategic bouncing of the orbs. Questionable positioning constantly as well.
What this series has taught me is that .. Gold really does have a wide variety of "skill" in it.

Red team was hard I thought ender because of a moira ult first point when everyone was dead and some questionable fades, but Ying was the one I was most confident it was not, good dynamites, decent aim, good shotgun movement
Blue team Andrew gave me troll vibes on echo, but I had no better guesses. Ball had some good slams and shield usage but that one play after the reveal might have made it a little more obvious.

There's like no way the ashe is *actually* bronze. Maybe unlucky placement matches plus throwing or not playing enough, but frankly the aim and ability usage is just too good for bronze.
The ball I can understand but the ashe? No way.
I was suspecting the Ana in the first game, a plat Ana would know when to scope in and when to hip fire, this Ana was scoping in for people right in front of them.
The onky reason i knew it wasnt andrew was him reacting to rein shatter... theres no way a bronze has the awareness to know its coming and to react to it
Damn the Ashe is definitely not bronze. If he was on my team I would be pretty happy and Im consistently gold on all roles. The consistency in made shots are way better than any bronze player should have. As for the ball, it feels like a silver player tbh. Its rare to even see a ball player that can piledrive decently in bronze ranks. It makes me think that both bronze players do not play rank and are quick play warriors.

Edit: 1 outta 2. Damn that ball was playing correctly to be bronze imo. The first time you spectated ying you said "those are good shots and way to hold onto ur ult". I felt the exact opposite. The shots were shaky and bob can contest point right there and get your team a whole nother team fight.... Great video as always.

Also this lobby was full of trolls and people throwing or playing bad on purpose, so of course a bronze player trying to actually win will look good. That was my thought process to figure out that the ashe was the bronze, at least.
I wasn't surprised by the Hammond, ball isn't super complex that a bronze would just be terrible at it. On the other hand Edward, while appearing very bad, was like... TOO bad. And my suspicious when confirmed when they managed to dodge that shatter. Ain't no way a player who's playing floor echo has the reaction times to fly at that specific instance.
As for the Ashe... Yeah nah i call bullshit, there ain't no way lmao

Just by the name Andrew, I went with the Echo and saw the gameplay plays how you would think a 10 year old would play TBH. I have no experience with ball but just using that hero correctly should be better than bronze. By the 20:00 view you can see him unload an entire clip on the roadhog's crotch area.

The thing about Overwatch is some players are really good individually, but terrible as a team. They'll be able to 1v1 pretty much anybody, but when it comes to helping their team in a teamfight, they'll be near useless. They have all of the necessary skills, but don't know how to utilize those skills to actually help their team get the W, and they don't realize this, so they get hard stuck in a low rank.
OR they got a low rank initially, and just got hard stuck there because they never got good teams and kept losing. In this case the Ashe did have a good team, so they did well. In bronze games, their tank is probably off on their own fighting the whole team, their supports are diving in with them and dying, and he's just left in the backlines helpless.
I was in this same position as DPS, I was doing well individually, but my team was seriously lacking most of the time, and it didn't matter how many elims I got if I never had a tank to push the other team back or some supports to save me. It is only because I started queueing with other people I knew were good that I was eventually able to climb out of the low ranks, and at that point, when I could just solo queue and know my team was at least going to be decent, my rank never went back down, it just kept going back up.
If your rank was based solely off of your own performance, so many people hard stuck in lower ranks would be well out of them by now.
This is false. Blaming your team doesn't make any sense. You've probably just improved without even realising, which means you're going to be stuck sooner or later again. And btw, Overwatch actually does have performance based ranking up until Diamond. Hard stuck, as a term, quite literally refers to the PERSON PLAYING not being GOOD ENOUGH to CLIMB.
If communication also helps if they have that. Ult placements could be call outs.

My guess for bronze on red team is the widow/torb/soldier (nightwarriors) because he didn’t use widow mine really at all

The lesson no one wants to aknowledge: ow2 matchmaking is highly fucked, and while the chances are small (not so small with blizzard games), you can have enough bad luck to be stuck in bronze even though you could win half of the plat vs plat games.

An easy cheat is that the bronze are using their best heros and are not likely to change because they won't be as good and it is likely to give them away if they do.

That ash was a huge surprise... his hits are too good.
Ball was questionable as he was grapple slamming pretty good and using shields. I did think it was weird that he was just staying on point and not zipping off for health packs. I really thought it was the bap. I didn't agree with the positioning. He was playing like an ana from super far range. It is hard to get dps and healing value consistently from that far back and you can't use your quick saves as well from there. I thought he could have used corners more and jiggle peaked as well as doing some jump shots on the corner to heal over the payload when people were low.

i knew i was way better then my rank of bronze 5 as wrecking ball if booping people into your ult is high rank type shit then damn you would love my swing as high as possble ult release that spreads across the whole map. Only thing is i learned the hard way that ball is only good for defense push cart mode and the robot one and that's it cause ball is honorable at creating space and if your team isn't good you loose and they get mad at you lol

I knew it was Ying at least
