We recommend still bringing them into CLO (as FBX or OBJ). So you can then adjust the positioning as needed to match with the CLO avatar foot position. Then follow the steps in Blender and back to CLO as normal
I am working on the shoes in clo3D but I am struggling so much with the fabric for heels and soles, could you tell me what is the catch, what are the physical properties you use or is there some other setting that helps making them rigid and in place? How would you register shoes if you did not create the shoe in CLO3D? I keep getting the error "The position doesn't match the avatar." Despite me lining the shoes up well in blender on an imported avatar and ensuring the transform is all set to 0 and scale to 1.

I managed to make a .zacs file but the positioning of the avatar v. the shoe becomes wrong ( the avatar is slightly higher above ground and therefor a bit of the toes show). What can I do to fix this? I exported in Daz cm in clo3d and changed the blender cordinates to 0,0, and 0,010 for scale.
Hi Gigja. Are you using a Custom Avatar from Daz? You may need to the change the scale or position of the shoes in Blender first before you export and register them in CLO

Hi! I created a leather like texture in blender shading and when I export the shoes to clo the texture does not follow even thought I export fbs path copy and embed the textures. How can I make the texture of the shoe follow to clo?

@@CLO3D Thanks! Yes I've followed the export and import options and several videos but Blender textures become flat in Clo. Does anyone else have this problem?
Thank you for this excellent tutorial! I'm struggling with registering a pair of flat platform shoes I've made in Clo. When I initially built them I made the mistake(?) of moving the whole avatar up a few inches so that the bottom of the tall platform shoe could touch the grid. I was getting the "position doesn't match the avatar" error. I have since repositioned my shoes to match FeiFei's default pose when she's standing with her feet flat on the grid, with my shoes clipping down through the grid, but I'm still getting the same error. Any thoughts on what i might be doing wrong? *Also, to add a potentially relevant detail, the shoe also has straps that wind up around her calf. Not sure if that could also be causing a problem.
Make sure that when you line up the shoes in CLO your Avatar HAS flat shoes on. If the Avatar does not have shoes on you may still get the position error.

Hi Jim Thanks for this was a long-term question for sure, Nice Job! Question, What if you do not have blender? is there a way to do all steps in CLO and then import them back to CLo without the help of blender?
You need a 3rd party app to help; as long as you can set up the file in the same way you could also use Maya, 3DS Max, etc.. As Blender is free, that is why we suggest it.
hi! when I try to register the shoes I get this error message: "Failed to make a shoes file. Not all meshes matching the name found." The shoes are named correctly (shoes_l and shoes_r) how can I solve this? thanks!
Is there the same feature in Marvelous designer ? I can't find the equivalent in the avatar menu. If I want to add hair or shoe to a custom avatar, should I set my bones with the same naming convention as Clo/marvelous or is it possible to specify the bone attachment ?
Hi. This is because the designer later shows how to register the proper UV Maps for color as seen in the video. For shoes is is recommended to use UV maps
Hello Good Afternoon would there be any video tutorial or video course - explaining how to create these same: tennis shoes and high heels from the beginning, as well as the design or the molds of your application so that we can download and study at Clo? Creating anything in CLO starts with patterns applied around an avatar. The partner video that covers Tips & Techniques for shoes covers specific techniques to apply to the patterns for success with creating shoes.

How can I bring in shoes from Daz? For example if I bring in a Daz Avatar, convert to avatar and then register the shoes. This way I can use custom avatars in avatar and switch the shoes. This would be great to know for hair too.
If you can export just the shoes out of DAZ, there is a chance you can follow the Registering Shoes video that was posted just a couple days ago. As DAZ is a third party application we are unsure of the ability to export like this or if it will work with CLO.
Sorry you are struggling with this... the process works as long as you follow it exactly. If the issue is in Blender, you might need to work further in that application to sort out the issue.
