And is mine good?
I can’t believe Savard is making stuff again. The legend of the Crazy painter started with some Savard Hq 12’s in a band pass box he pulled from the “creek” repainted it and turned the abduction van into a production van.
Hands down the next audio purchase I'll be making. They were already high on my list but after seeing how well they nailed the old school attention to detail, I want a pair of my own. The frequency response curve sheet that they include with all the q specs is so helpful. Their drivers are so professionally executed. Savard is such a breathe of fresh air in today's ho hum car audio market. Thanks for the video Big D.
I had the pleasure of running 4 Savard Hi-Q 8s in a bandpass box that was designed by Bill Savard himself back in the late 90s. Was in a '95 Dodge Neon and was set up as a SQ system. Had the most wonderful, musical and smooth sound I've ever heard. Miss that box. :(
If you competed back then, do you remember Doug D. with the Slayer truck from Florida? (He went everywhere.) Before he went with Orion, he would stomp me with his 16 15" Savard Hi Qs in a V wall in that little Nissan minitruck. (I was in his same cheater-amp power class with 4 18" Punch in an Escort GT.) Eventually he built Slayer 2 which, was his newer body style S10 when they cam eout in ~'94. He put 12 Orion 15s in that and jumped up a couple of dB.
Thanks for the video Big D!!!! I have had my eyes on these subs for my next build. I had some back in the day that came in a isobaric wedge-shaped box and it slammed along with the Autotek 7300 I had hooked up to it. Old school love!

You would NEVER think he had 8’s back there. He previously had 3 10” w7’s back there but wanted a different setup from everything else out there and it did not disappoint. Savard was the first subs I had way back in 1996 and I had them til 99 or 2000 and they were great. Those subs were hand me downs from my godfathers son who had them in his big Chevy Blazer back in 1991 to 1994 and then he gave them to me when I got my license and my car. I just might buy myself some new Savards.

Nice looking unit but I have to ask what's with so many companies going to foam surrounds instead of rubber? I see foam turning to dust on home audio systems in 10 - 20 years but butyl rubber holding up well after 40 years of abuse. How will they hold up in the heat / cold of a car?
@@lukasbekcic… yes, I can see where the foam is light weight and more pliable, therefore easier to control movement, but they need to consider how sturdy it will be in the long run. After all, a speaker needs to flex billions of times in it's life and wear is a major consideration when you think about it. I have a pair of B&O speakers that are 45 years old and the butyl rubber is still fine. Likewise on a pair of KLH units with rubberized cloth surrounds. Have thrown away several sets of speakers with the foam that didn't go 20 years.
So true. I have Jamo D8 Subwoofer which is supposed to be a very high end Sub. It has that foam surrounds, and gone bad (crumbles to dust) thrice in less than ten years.

Awesome big D! I just bought a new car, Chevy Spark. Anyway it's a small car and 2 of these 8's would be nice. But if I wanted a lot more bump, what would you suggest?
I gotta decide what sub and how I'm gonna do this, but I wanna put a sub in the rear deck of my 2013 impala and I'm not sure what the best away to go is. Should I do a free air/infinite baffle type thing, or build some type of slim type enclosure and maybe use a shallow sub. The enclosure I wanna build on the underside of the rear deck if I go that way. What are your thoughts on which would be better? What sub might work best? I'm thinking no bigger than 12" but most likely more like 8 or 10. Thanks in advance.

Awesome big D! I just bought a new car, Chevy Spark. Anyway it's a small car and 2 of these 8's would be nice. But if I wanted a lot more bump, what would you suggest?
I know you mainly just do car audio, but one thing I would love to see on that dyno is the SMSL AD18.
Open the box up and add slot port. If I had to guess I would say 15 or 16 inches x 1 spacing across the bottom or so would do the trick.
I'm from Da BOOT and i didn't know we had homegrown audio companies I'm definitely gonna support the home team!...not the Aint's tho I'm a die hard BEARS man!...Im also a Chevy guy but that '37 is a beaut!
Go check out brutal sounds their also a home grown Louisiana based sub’s and amp’s. Both savard and brutal make some bad ass subs.
@@Tony-WhoDat seriously!...i heard about brutal sounds and another i think from Gretna,La. D'Wiz did a show about. Man Louisiana is on the audio map!...so proud!
Soundqubed hds208 next? I’ve read good things about it. Keep it up Big D! Love the channel!
I’d love to put together a clamshell loaded isobaric enclosure with four 8’s in 2.5 - 3 cu ft.
Should I get the 8" HiQ and build a slide ported box or just get the rap series 10" and replace my JL 10w3? Price is about same but I want smallest footprint for most sound?
Cool little 8. Should do more in car tests with the 37!
Would you pick this or the American bass hd8
Is this savard 8 inch sub a duel 4 ohm sub? Im looking for a small 8 or 10 inch duel 2 ohm that will perform with 200 watts! which speaker would you recomend again I think I need a duel 2 ohm 10 that will perform at 200 watt I plan on using a jenky kicker XP 200.1 powered with an X box cord and to make a home subwoofer !
Awsome man that ford is on 🔥

Dayton Audio DS175-8 6.5" Designer

Would one of these be good to replace the factory 8 in the rear deck of my infiniti g35?
Will it..lol..smh all day bro👍😎
Thankyou this video was the best yet awesome man!!!
I bet they would take 1000 watts all day. That surround and voice coil are no joke.
That’s a sweeeeet sub there!
I'd agree...so much I bought 4 of them!
Awe man I can’t wait to see what you do with 4 of them!!!!

Nicest box I’ve seen 👍
Just can't beat DJ Magik mike
Think I could drop that in the rear deck of an 06 MGM?? Or should I just go with 6x8 components instead?
When take a closer look the screen shakes 💥🔥🔥5:58
I got a JL 8" W3 and it blows.
My buddy has the 8" W7's and they BOOM.
I wonder how other 8"s compare.
Hey man. What's music was played in 3:58? Hear some good lovely miami bass that didn't recognize :)
Quick question if I may: I have to two 31bands audio control EQ’s & 3-way Xover & Epic- the instructions for epic says to connect RCA from radio to epic before all other devices for bass restoration- but I wonder if in my situation if that is ideal? I felt that going radio-EQ-Xover-Epic -- any input?? Or reasoning why I should Run to Epic first? Thanks
Yes, Radio to Epic first
Man that sounds so amazing no box no nothing to sit it out on the desk and play that music man it sounds like a person putting it in a 1970 Caprice and the trunks and the doors rattling all over the place
i can clearly see you mounted that sub in a hurry. Be gentle with sub-woofers.
Dj magic mike!!
DROOOOOOOPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!
adaboy4z it's called feel the bass by dj magic mike
Fun fact (since I knew him back then):
When he got big, he moved his mom into a nice house out of the hood and then took over his mom's place in the hood that he grew up in and made it his own.
That was so long ago.
I wonder if he's still living there.
Cuts the record...
