- An accessible budget Irish has its proof cranked to 124 and becomes miles more interesting as a result.
Big thanks to Patron Saint Rob Halla for the bottle. Praise be.

Well good sirs, now that you've flipped a bottle on camera we have to have a bottle flip off. That's the legality of our trademark... But for real thank you for the mention guys, appreciate it! Cheers!
There are those who dare to flip bottles... and those who "flip" bottles to price gouge people... 😆
Love them BJ's! So fun to see the vault and tribe mentioning other channels and sharing the love!
Must happen.
Whelp. We now have a Whiskey Tribe video in the making....
I demand satisfaction! And a trip to Michigan for those Texans. A certain gas station whiskey comes to mind.
Jameson now have a Barrell Proof here in Ireland. It's cask strength black barrel as far as I know, pot still and grain blend 50% abv
Unlike Dan from Bourbon Junkies, Daniel has never flipped and dropped an Angel's Envy Mizunara on camera
Oh no!
I watch every morning, and get really sad when the episode is over. Mostly because that means it’s time to go to work.
West Cork are one of those distilleries that have quietly been putting out some really drinkable whiskeys, and this is right up there with some of their best
Jameson don't have a cask strength version of their regular whiskey, but they do have the standard 'Black Barrel' at 40%, 'Black Barrel Proof' at 50%, and 'Black Barrel Cask Strength' at ~60% (but the CS is a distillery exclusive)
I'm loving the love and ball busting y'all are showing other whiskey channels lately!
My father was from Dunmanway West cork so my son purchased me a few bottles last Christmas. What a brilliant surprise. The Stout addition is fantastic and the Bourbon cask is not a bad sip. I would recommend both .
My sister is buried in Dunmanway. We lived in Clashbredane when I was tiny. Discovering the West Cork Distillery was like finding the taste of home.
Good Morning Magnificent Bastards!
West Cork is a fantastic distillery and has become my go-to for Irish Whiskey.
Really excited hopefully I can find this one.
Man I love the whiskey community! You all are great!
Just scored the Redbreast Iberian Series volume 1!
Fell in love at 1st sip. Found this in a little country packages store on a table of odds and ends. Didn't look gimmicky and it was a great price. This will make a great summer sip on the rocks. Hope I can find the rest of the collection.
West Cork rock! Never expected to like this so much.
Received my janky box of suspicious liquids the other day and I gotta say loving the hell out of it so far, yall have chosen wisely! Im sure it'd be even more work for Daniel but you guys should make a video going over the whiskeys or make a playlist
Good morning Gentlemen.
I love almost everything from West Cork. The Bourbon Cask is their most basic and is basically a budget bottle. They make an 8yr Single Malt that's around $30-35 where I am and is great. Hope you guys get to that one at some point too. Cheers!
Now I must find West Cork whiskey near me. I've wanted to expand my Irish whiskey collection. This sounds like a fantastic bottle.
A really good review 🥃
Tullamore DEW Phoenix was bottled at 55% ABV but was a limited release. It was very good and I wish they would bring it back.
Good morning you mb calling from central Florida have never seen that stuff here would love to try it through
GOOD MORNING YOU MB'S.... 🥃
Living 10 mins from the West Cork Distillery, it's new and there's some good things coming out from there. Well worth buying a few specials now because given time they're going to be a dam good investment for the future. Well done all at Marsh Rd!
At the Jameson Distillery (museum/original site in Dublin) they have a Jameson Black Barrel single barrel Cask Strength that you self pour and then purchase, mine was around 62% abv. Great Chad it was magnificent!
I have a West Cork Black Cask and it's very cheap, you can get it in recycled bottle as well.
I have West Cork Cask Strength, also 62%. Not sure if these two are the same. Initially I didn't quite like it - not a lot of flavors and a lot of bitterness, which suggested exhausted barrels were used. After a few months I started to get tropical fruit notes - mango & pineapple, plus vanilla. Not complaining though since I got it for $29 only.
Cool
Easily available in Ireland 😉
Cask whiskey in Ireland from the same brand I had at a bar in Galway(?), I seem to recall I liked it
I used to be a wine drinker, and my husband was only used to beer and despised wine.
I was searching for something we could both enjoy and became curious about whiskey.
Found your channels and started watching to learn more about this strange new world.
We went out to buy some whiskey, and while we were in the store my husbands curiosity was peeked by whiskey liqueurs
more then the whiskey itself.
Came home with an Irish mist, a Glayva, and a bottle of Jura Journey. While I have indeed have gone on a whiskey journey,
from Jura, to Tamnavulin, Monkeyshoulder, Oban 14, Dalwhinnie 15, Glenkinchie 12, Four Roses straight bourbon,
Woodford Reserve straight bourbon, Scarabus, and my latest discovery West Cork cask strength, my husband has been
discovering the world of whiskey liqueurs, from Irish mist, Glayva, Jack Daniels honey and cinnamon spice, southern comfort and fireball whiskey.
What ever the future may hold, we both have found a new world to delve into.
Thank you for all the good information, we look forward to your videos.
Try some Irish pot still whiskey too 😁👍
@@kennethhickey2823 Thank you for the tip, i think i will do that :-)
I've been drinking these Irish middle shelf blends lately and I often get a sugar cane note. Its kind of overpowering on the palate. Normal?
Jameson Bow Street 18 yr cask strength is an amazing pour.
Only 3 bottles here in New Hampshire
I love Iwish Riskey!
West Cork Barrel Proof is available in several US states.
They have a jameson 18 cask strength and they just released a limited 21 year jameson cask strength
To my knowledge the Jameson 18yr Bowstreet edition is the only cask strength Jameson. I haven't seen in in the states though
I have the exactly same jacket as Rex.....my life is complete......
I want so badly to see you guys science whether it's possible to seperate some of the water from whiskey using methods other than heat or distillation, maybe using a centrifuge machine or some form of flash freezing to get the ABV to higher levels and see if it improves the whiskey. For Science!
May the whisky gods shine on you all. I feel like America needs to step up there triple distilled game. I know there’s a couple (Andalusia ). But it makes a magical dram.
How many other people rewatched that just to see the flip?
They now have a cask strength version of the Jameson Black barrel and it’s very nice. It’s the most “bourbon” irish I’ve ever had
Oh word? I’ll have to try that
@@SanskarWagley yeah! I think it might an irish and airport only release right now but with plans to expand out
I thought it was 100 proof rather than actually cask strength?
I filled my own bottle of Black in Ireland. Cask strength and fabulous. Ruined me for regular strength. Would love to get higher ABV again
The 50% bottling is such an addition.
And a tip if you’re ever visiting Ireland - if you do the museum tour in Dublin, you can fill your own Black Barrel bottle and it’s at 62%! Lovely.
For the price I think it's excellent.
But does the cliche also specify the jeans need to be stretch jeans in particular?
Jameson makes a couple of cask strengths. Black Barrel cask strength and Bow Street 18 year old cask strength.
I have yet to see a Texas distiller without a beard, excluding Milam and Greene.
I know people talk about freezing the bottle or adding ice, but what about freezing the glass? I’ve been doing it for neat pours for months. I think it works great.
Wouldn't that inherently introduce a bit of water to the whiskey [frozen concentration on glass]? Less than adding ice, but more than freezing the whiskey. Or is it negligible?
@@kanagawakenji7 I find it pretty negligible. I always make sure to dry my glasses well before putting it in there, and it never sweats once I pour and hold onto it while drinking. I’m not actually putting it in the ice or anything. Just in the freezer. From what I’ve seen the cold air isn’t leaving any noticeable water inside or out.
Would TTB approve Jimmy's Sons Whiskey?
Whiskey Vault's out here picking fights with ALL the whiskey tubers. What's next, Rex reviewing whiskey in a bubble bath?
That's something I'd pay NOT to see.
THE JACKET!!!!
Now they are doing a new ‘Thin Lizzy’ Whiskey 😋
There's a higher ABV James Black Barrell just released a little while ago. I believe it's a USA release only :(.
+ I agree with Ralfy on Irish whiskey. Youngness isn't really a bad thing for Irish whiskey. The typical Irish notes often don't need to be smoothened out too much. Older Redbreasts and Spots lose a lot of their drama and complexity.
The hay note might be wheat. I believe West Cork has more wheat in their mash bill.
It certainly feels like it's lacking in the appropriate pageantry when Daniel no longer spins for patron saints
2 Shots at the Bourbon Junkies in this episode
Looks like I am not the first to comment, but would love for you guys to review Paul Johns Bold....I would love to send you the $$$ so you can buy on my behalf...Love the videos...
Also I would prefer that you do that before you turn 60.... :-;
Don't forget the wearing of the beanie/hat inside...or is that just Hipster ??
I’m guessing the good news is he got a new jacket???
Anybody else noticed that Rex got a lot more fun to watch roughly around the time delta 8 became available? Coincidence? Perhaps ;)
SO I have decided that If I am in line at the liquor store and someone is giving me the hairy eyeball for that amount that I am purchasing, I am just going to look at them and say "it's for my pet hamster."
There's funny limited edition of Jameson Black Barrel called "Jameson Black Barrel Proof" that is actually shy of barrel proof but they can call it that because it's technically "Jameson Black Barrel: Proof" and not "Jameson Black: Barrel Proof". Following suit I think I'm going to name a cheap blended chill filtered added colour 3 y/o 30% whiskey liqueur after my dog, Islay25YearOldSingleMalt.
I visited the Jameson Distillery and you could bottle your own Jameson Black Barrel right out of the barrel. It was phenomenal
@@ChadWinters yes it truly was. Miss that bottle. Empty but not forgotten
Rex looks like the Irish hitman
2ndish
Been a fan of the videos for 2 years I'm 23 and absolutely adore most whiskey(favorite at the moment is compass box orchard house) smoke is not my preferred not but I'm open minded always willing to try all things so I find a smoke note in the orchard house that comes from coal lila . I would love to send you guys some compas box and a few others send information to send gifts. Cheers you magnificent BASTARDS !
Jameson Black Barrel Proof
Jameson Bow Street 18 Years Cask Strength
Thankfully I review whiskey on UA-cam, have a handlebar mustache and goatee, wear t-shirts.... and no pants. Because I'm a professional damn it! 🖖😎🥃
Rob's a good guy, but his brother Val is legendary!
If I could only have one whiskey for the rest of my like, it would be one from West Cork.
This stuff is good but my god is it young as all fuck. To say it’s lively is a massive understatement. Try this next to Blue Spot for example. It’s chalk and cheese. As I say I like it but be warned it’s not an aged complex barrel proof whiskey. It’s yooooung
8:10 -- neither Bourbon Junkies nor ADHD Whiskey nor the folks from Bourbon Night wear those things! Rex is just jelly coz Daniel found the perfect look.
Bottle filp off! Please bring back zippity zum please for whiskey tribe
Wait. Was this an actual review? What has happened here Sirs?
Hello Rex. Please let me work for you. Just give me a change
West cork Come in plastic bottles in sweden
There is a whiskey channel on UA-cam that when the guy has a beard, it’s a good show. Without, he doesn’t seem trustworthy.
And I don’t know why. 😳
If I passed Rex on the side walk after a day of filming dressed like he is I would mistake him for a hobo or a homeless drunk...
Oh. I thought he was.
Yall seen the horse kick tree fart on dog video?
Keep it up dude!! I think that it could be of use to research a service such as P r o m o S M!!
thirst
If you wanna be a cliché…. Wear an I’ll fitting beanie indoors…… ;-)
I'll never touch the West Cork Irish whisky line again. Black Reserve tasted like RAID ant spray.
That stuff is nasty its like drinking gasoline. Was not a fan of that stuff. With water or ice it didn't help.
