unreal scenery, that's essentially what E-mtbs get you. range, steadier sustained effort and not blowing out for descending. awesome video. i'm a total convert. they take a little training to get used to the additional weight but some of the extra features that you can climb makes it so much fun! and they do handle amazing once you're used to them. i love the extra weight.
I have very mixed feelings about eMTBs. Part of the attraction of mountain biking is knowing I got there under my own power. But then I am restricting my own range and could double the miles I cover. And yet I'd happily explore those trails on a powered bike. They do have a place and can basically be a low-profile off-road powered bike, that doesn't attract any attention. What bike is that and how heavy? What's the range like? If you haven't already, you should do a video on it.
We ride “normal” bikes too. There’s a wealth of information on the topic already so it’s not really worth me doing a review of this bike. The bike is a Canyon Strive:On with a Bosch full power motor and a 750wh battery, it weighs roughy 23kg but it rides quite light for an eBike. Range is a tricky one as it depends on a variety of factors such as elevation gain, type of terrain, rider weight, how fast you ride, etc. but easily 25-30 miles with about 1500m of elevation gain. There are also “SL” (superlight) ebikes with less power and smaller batteries that come in at 18-19kg. These are a good compromise for some people/conditions. Your best bet is to just do some research online or get yourself booked onto a demo day and have a go. 👍🏻
E-mtb is so much fun. Just look at that scenery. From S Wales and have never been around Snowdonia. Planning to fix that very soon.

Both have their merits. A full fat eBike on really steep tech is a handful! 🙂
