will be adding the gelly roll pens & winsor newton inks to my supply list. thank you. gouache is a water soluble medium - once dry it will rewet. ACRY-gouache is the mix of acrylic & gouache that once dry will not rewet/ lift. these are 2 different products and have caused bad feelings towards gouache.
I hope you like them! I use just the gouache because I'm usually mixing it with watercolors or putting it over watercolors but that's a good thing to point out. I've tried the acrylic gouache and didn't particularly like it because it would dry so fast. Do you think people prefer the acrylic gouache?
You probably know this by know, but that cheaper Winsor and Newton palette is from their Cottman range, which is their student grade line of paints, while the expensive version you bought is from their professional line which is why it's so much more expensive. That being said, the cottman watercolors are actually really good quality for the price and are lightfast which is rare for student grade paints. They are usually the number 1 reccomended watercolors to buy for a beginner to intermediate, so it's still a good reccomendation haha Just figured I'd comment this in case you weren't already aware and for any new viewers so they have accurate information.

I really want paint because I wanna paint my wall. my wall has like little “planks” on one wall like it has hooks at the top and the rest is like wood over the wall that is like “textured” and I wanna make different things on each plank but I have no paint so im looking forward to buying some from this video
I'm not even american but I love videos like this with art supplies recommendations. Some are inaccessible in my country (Brazil) but I can buy some of these locally (microns and the pentel pens, as well as cotmans). I just wanted to add a little informaation to your video: finetec is a german brand that once was just a family manufacturing the paints, but then it grew and the brand split into finetec and coliro. If you look at some old youtube vdeos, you'll see the word "finetec" on nowaday's coliro sets. That's why they are of a same good quality. Finetec nowadays seems to prefer selling more specialty shimmer or pearlescent colors while coliro sells the more basic colours like silver and gold and so on. (btw: gouache is easily rewettable and liftable like watercolours. the "gouache" that dries and "seals" th painting and cant be liftable are the acrylic goauche)
That's really interesting about finetec and coliro. I'll have to look into that more as I start to explore the Finetec metallic I have. Thanks for the info!
Just as a tip to make finding those bruses that you like easier to find, they are golden taklon bristles, but nylon bristles are very similar, and the shape is "filbert". These are the ones that I use from Michaels: pin.it/7uHjoiH
girl those pencils are refillable! you just take out the eraser or put it in through the tip. it’s just so wasteful to throw them away after one use :( i’ve had some for over 5 years
Sharpwriters are not meant to be refilled. I have some nicer mechanical pencils that I have had for years, but the sharpwriters are for on the go. That's cool that it works for you but since I carry them around in my bags and use them pretty aggressively they typically crack, the tops break, the twist tap doesn't work and the eraser gets completely used up. Once those things happen it's useless for me.
The prices shown in the video are the individual prices, so every individual supply is under $20. There are many that can be combined and still be under $20, but not all of the items listed together. Someone else suggested doing a second one with everything under $20 but typically that's tough for Amazon. I may try it in the future but, if you're looking for a bunch of supplies for $20 I'd recommend my dollar store videos which might have more ideas for you.
Maybe I'll try that for next time! That would be a bit of a challenge on Amazon, but I've done it at the dollar store before with my dollar store videos. :)
