    What you have to keep in mind about being spring loaded is yes it'll help you going up but on the way down you'll be fighting the spring and hits will be weaker

      It could be easier for people who aren't strong enough to use an axe for a very long time.

  • @matthewgardner3259
    @matthewgardner3259 7 років тому +29

    Y'all have to remember too, this gives extreme precision allowing to get precise cuts on wood size. Also it's a lot easier to push that down then to swing an ax.

    • @stevewildeagle965
      @stevewildeagle965 7 років тому +2

      Matthew Gardner Kinda agree after years ago seeing someone split their leg, rather than the log with an axe, what a mess that axe made 😵, this tool while more tiring defiantly has a use.

  • @stephendeinema9259

    I could see this being useful in situations where you didn't have space to swing an axe

  • @mistertoad5286

    The Chopper 1 Splitting Axe is the best splitting maul I have used. It is a unique looking maul. I think you would like using it as you like innovative and different types of "gadgets"

  • @Herbert04
    @Herbert04 7 років тому +1

    Taras I am a bit older. What I like to use on that wood that doesn't split easy. Soft wood. I use a wedge and a hammer. I always keep an extra wedge for those times when it just doesn't want to split and then your wedge is in the wood. Than you grab the second one and follow the crack. But for hard wood stick to the splitting mall. And most pine you can use a big ax.

    It's a good concept, but it would be better if it was built more like a t-post driver, where most of the weight is at the top giving more leverage. 2 handles on the sides would also make it a lot easier to use

  • @urix8864
    @urix8864 7 років тому +1

    It's quite an interesting tool to have, I guess it's advantage would be that you have more control and accuracy of where you want to cut.

  • @Dunki113
    @Dunki113 7 років тому +1

    I guess it's good to use as a back up in case your maul breaks or is misplaced, like an emergency splitter, i can see it being useful if you took it camping and you chop your own wood for the campfire or something but that's my guess

  • @Cheerok
    @Cheerok 7 років тому

    Thats like a splitting wedge...but complicated.
    Hit the wedge with the backside of a heavy axe or a maul. Less energy needed,
    less strength needed.
    The thing from the video only makes sense if you want to combine exercise (as in doing more than needed) with splitting...
