One easy improvement they could make is to put a simple brake on the shaft with the lever at the end of one of the handles. That would make repositioning easier.

Taras nice video. I'm more of a maul or wedge and sledge guy. But that last one with the maul bouncing and the slide hammer actually splitting the round was pretty convincing.

You can use a bigger tire instead of a chain which you would put on top of a bigger round as your base. A splitting spike and a sledgehammer will do the same to start those 20” rounds then a splitting maul works fine and is satisfyingly fun

It's made for 2 foot wide and 2 foot long GREEN logs right after you fell the tree. A chiropractors preferred option. Enjoy.

I absolutely loved how you describe about gym....i kno alot of guys who had a freak body without going to gym..
A rubber gasket where it hits should work just as well to reduce noise.
It probably would also absorb some of the force and prolong the impact.
There is a nylon washer as a shock and noise reduction, but rubber, as said above reduces the effectness of the hammer.
Works well on soft pine, how about you bring it out to Australia and test it on some hard gum trees

It certainly looks cool and the color choice is nice but Its just that this thing is heavier and "slower" than a splitting maul which gets you exhausted quicker.

ByeHai I go thru three loads of logs most winters! I saw the logs and spit them on a hydraulic log splitter. Much easier 😉
I am cutting and splitting wood for more then 20 years, nothing is faster then a good splitting hammer and a brain.

This definitely piqued my interest. I chop a lot of wood, but I have a hard time with some logs. If I could at least get them started with something like this it could save me a lot of frustration and agony. I will be looking into this. It is one of the best looking one's you have tried. Btw, I know you do it all the time, but I always chop on a chopping block, I'm sure it's easier that way, especially because of your height.
