I've been wanting to try my hand at bible rebinding.. But here in the tropics where i live, i cannot easily buy leather working tools unless i order in. BUT... I can buy whole full grain cowhides for just over a $100 per hide so .... Seeing these Paul's bibles i can see that i can do it.. I'd leave it full rough grain as it but add in a liner to edgeline the bible.. So totally doable !!
I have the NLT thinline and I absolutely love it! I fully plan on getting both the NASB and ESV thinline as well I can assure you the they are well worth the pricetag
Talk about scratching up the cover..I took some very fine sand paper to my brand new Schuyler marbled calfskin. I sanded the edges and the spine hubs..very lightly..and it turned out amazing!! Makes this bible look more antique. I agree with you about the floppy covers..I wish they'd make one with a stiffer cover. May even check out this dude! Depends on the $$
Hey Jason! Awesome video! I'm definitely looking at purchasing a Bible from them as well! If I may ask, what font did you use when you engraved the name into that Bible?
I'd love to have him do one on a cheapy bible! So it'd be premium cover but I won't have to worry about babying the text blocks. Coffee stains would be a plus over time! 😎
From the video, it sounds like Paul's rebinds as well. Otherwise, I've been really happy with Post Tenebras Lux. They do fantastic rebind work, and repairs if needed. ptlbiblerebinding.com/
This Bible did not double in price. Turning an edge lined Bible into a paste down destroys the dollar value. If you want a true edgelined rebind talk to 'post tenebras lux" or "cherry hill bibles"
@@TearUpYourBible I don't understand how I am wrong. PLC Bibles are great for paste down, but ripping edgelined goatskin off of a bible and gluing a chunk of full grain on in its place doesn't balance it out. I appreciate your channel, your content, and your enthusiasm, but if you really wanted to double the value, you should have given David Dalfino a ring.
@@dgates1555 He's not talking about doubling the resale value, he's talking about doubling the money you put into the bible. In terms of resale value, you are right. But if you spend $200+ on a bible, then spend $200+ on rebinding it, you have doubled your expenditure on that one bible.
I live to fold my bible back and forth back and forth to make the (imitation leather 6$) imitation leather feel better
9:18 that's a really nice touch. The font is super clean too. -Dan- Paul does really great stuff.
I think it's the CLASSIEST "name imprint" I've ever seen. And it's so different from the norm that it just pops!
I have two Paul's Bibles. I love them both. The leather smells great as well.
praise the Lord and God bless you

I think I may send them a Bible I have to be rebound. That looks awesome!

So beautiful 🤩
Dan: do you know of any Bible re-binders? Who can take an old Bible and rebind it, make minor repairs to pages etc?

I’m a CSB user but I’ve been flirting so much with the ESV

I think he means you spent alot on the original and then paid even more to have it recovered 😊
Derek... Math wants to be your friend.
