  • How I Paint Landscape Just By 4 Colors Oil Painting Landscape Step By Step 61 By Yasser Fayad
Apparently, we only use the three primary colors (blue, yellow, and red) in addition to white, which is a neutral color, but we give them four colors metaphorically so that the novice trainees can understand the matter.
But in fact, you can create an infinite number of colors by mixing these three colors together and obtaining beautiful oil paintings
Primary colors are the basic colors that cannot be created by mixing other colors. In art, the primary colors are red, blue, and yellow. These colors are important in oil painting because they can be mixed to create all other colors on the color wheel.
Oil paints are a popular medium for artists because they offer a wide range of colors, are easy to blend, and have a long drying time, which allows for more flexibility in the painting process. When it comes to oil paints, there are many brands and types of paint available, each with their own unique characteristics.
White and black are important colors in oil painting, as they are used to adjust the value and tone of other colors. White oil paint is often used to create tints, which are lighter versions of a color. For example, mixing white with blue will create a lighter blue color. White can also be used to lighten other colors without significantly changing their hue.
Black oil paint, on the other hand, is often used to create shades, which are darker versions of a color. For example, mixing black with blue will create a darker blue color. Black can also be used to darken other colors without significantly changing their hue.
It's important to note that not all white and black oil paints are created equal. There are many different types of white and black pigments, each with their own unique properties. For example, titanium white is a popular white pigment that is very opaque and has a high tinting strength, while zinc white is a more transparent white pigment that is often used in glazes. Similarly, ivory black is a popular black pigment that is very opaque and has a high tinting strength, while lamp black is a more transparent black pigment that is often used in underpainting.
When selecting white and black oil colors, it's important to consider the pigment properties and choose colors that are compatible with the other colors you are using. It's also a good idea to experiment with different types of white and black pigments to find the ones that work best for your particular painting style and techniques.
It's worth noting that some artists prefer not to use black paint in their oil paintings and instead create shades by mixing complementary colors together. Complementary colors are colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel, such as red and green, blue and orange, or yellow and purple. Mixing these colors together can create a darker hue without the use of black paint.
In addition to white and black, oil paints also come in a range of other colors, including earth tones, greens, blues, reds, and yellows, among others. Many artists also mix their own colors to create custom shades and hues.
The colors used are: Titanium White, Cadmium Yellow Deep,
Cobalt Blue and Azo Red Deep.

👋Good evening, dear Yasser. - At this moment, we are looking at a sun-drenched rural area that slopes slightly from upper left to lower right. The sky is pale blue and interspersed with fair weather clouds that shimmer a little yellowish and light pink in some places. The sun is shining on the scene from the left, and the timing appears to be early morning in, say, late summer, as the shadow cast is longer. The impression of warmth sets in, but in the depths of the landscape, individual wisps of mist still waft over the meadows and partially veil the deciduous trees that appear on the horizon. As the sun rises, the haze will soon dissipate and we will be able to gaze unhindered into the distance and discover more than just a large flock of birds circling in the sky. For the time being, however, we have to make do with what is offered to us. We recognize extensive meadows on both sides of a path, that leads slightly uphill here, and deciduous trees as well as higher bushes that border the meadows on the right. The grass appears short-stalked, perhaps it has been mowed, perhaps cattle grazed here until recently and plucked it off. In some places, brownish soil shimmers through, some parts of the land appearing more lush green than others, which appear more lightly sun-bleached. Only directly along the path, which seems to us being a natural one because it is uneven and the ground is interspersed with small and larger stones, grow tall flowering grasses and also blooming flowers. On the right, in the field of vision, the plant growth appears standing taller and protruding above the fence that someone has erected at this very spot and of which we can make out two wooden posts and three boards, it continues to the right and out of our sight. In addition, behind the fence thin sticks rise from the ground, perhaps they are the dry remains of a low bush or someone is thinking of cultivating a garden here. We don't know. Making short work of it, we set off along the trail, following a lady who has obviously already gotten up with the chickens, because she seems to have been out early for shopping. And since she was out so early when the air was fresher, she is of course still wearing her white jacket or a fluffy sweater over her bright blue long skirt. This lady is a bit ahead of us and, this may be due to the bright light, seems to have reddish-blond hair that shines in the sun or to be wearing a headscarf of similar colour. Light-footed she strides uphill, the movement of her body strikes us as elegant and distinguished. Her destination seems to be the homestead, built directly ahead on a hilltop. It consists of three buildings, the two-story main house, a modest annex and, slightly below and to the right of these two, a small one-story house which we reach first. It is built of wood, painted light brown and has a gable roof made of wood, which apparently received a protective coating that appears blue in the sunlight. Towards the front gable we see a brick chimney, and parterre, there is an entrance door also on the gable end. We recognize two small window openings on the main side, which faces the path. The head house, located further up, is separated from this one by an extensive light-green shrubbery that also surrounds the annex facing the path. Two white window crosses catch our eye directly, one of them on the upper floor, we do not see a front door from here; it seems to be hidden by the bushes or is located in another outer wall. This building, together with the small annex that has a door and supports a flat roof, was also built of wood. The main house, in turn, carries a saddle roof and a chimney on the left side. Majestic, beautifully grown deciduous trees protect the buildings from the back. The foliage already seems to be turning a bit autumnal, some leaves are already yellow, others still green, but all crowns are still abundant and not thinned. To the left, in the misty background of this hill, two more tall foliage trees with still-green leaves rise out of the haze and take a lower tree, or one growing even farther back, into their midst. - Dear Yasser, this painting, like all your others, is absolutely marvelous, but on top of that, the beautiful soft gradations of color have an effect here once again. The bolder, more vibrant colors appear in focus, in the center of the painting, drawing the eye as if magnetically. The nicely rendered path, lit by the sun, runs directly towards it and it is as if the figure is leading us in and up the hill. Simply ingenious ! Thank you, this was very helpful in terms of composing the details of the painting and how to properly use colors to get the maximum effect desired. Good night, be blessed.💖

    • @YasserFayad

I just want each of the brush strokes and touches to be intentional, meaning that I have a decision and I want to implement it as it is, so there is no room for artistic effects that are generated by chance or randomness due to the large brush as some other artists do.
