Fellow hikers like you are appreciated for sacrificing the dexterity needed to complete or even get into a good rhythm of a hike/climb because you are sharing that experience w/ your recorder. That scree field looks long, exhausting and frustrating before you start your death defying climb. It's only then are you a free man.
Actually, I would rate the most difficult parts of Cabezon as Class 4, but I had no trouble climbing it solo. It's steep, but the rock is very solid. Needless to say, the views from the top are great.
I've ridden my motorcycle in that vicinity, but now have an excuse to go back to find your geocache. I'm sure by now you have a Garmin or equivalent device with communications capability, for places just like this.
Nothing wrong with wimping out - I got stuck in a bad pass today and came back down, found the right trail, but by then was too late in the day to give it another go! Will be going back! Hope you did!

I had no idea you could get that close. Going back out there when I get the chance. Awesome video! Howdy from Rio Rancho.
kevin fitzgerald I know your comment is five years old, however you can get even closer by hiking/climbing to the summit of Cabezon Peak.

Very nice views. What camera did you use for the trip?
