My exact thoughts!! In the strokes the really cool vocals, melodies, and badass rhythms and riffs take a lot of the focus, but once you strip it down acoustically, the lyrics are so filled with emotion and care.. Julian is truly a gifted songwriter

Fabulous! I never hear anyone sing this song (except by Julian of course), and to hear it sung so beautifully, what a treat! And it's one of my fave songs by the Strokes. I even remember buying the album - as a CD, at a Sam Goody (bet you've never heard of those, they used to be at a place called a "mall") - and playing this song over and over. So long ago, I was a kid then...thanks for the memories!!!

The strokes , great band I never listened to when they were “around” . Sure do now . Cover was good but you’re voice , god damn ! (Parton my French). You inspired me to try and cover this song myself . With my voice a bit off key , mine will be no where near as pleasant to the ears as yours .
Can attest, The New Abnormal is a fantastic album and return - a good mix of some recognizable sound but with something new overall that was just so perfect for me in 2020 it was my soundtrack to that shitty fucking year.
