These are pretty easy to tune up😊, My 1999 ZXR400 has dynoed 74hp and it's really pretty mild tuning. I have had many bikes, 1000/1200/1300cc honda's , Yamaha's and Kawa's and Ducati but only bike i still have fron new is my ZXR400 .just so fun bike, light,nimble and goes like hell.(for it's engine size)
@@Gio-mhh just seek "zxr400 restrictor kit".... It's about 60-80€ here in EU area. Look for company called kickstart engineering, they used to have kit for ZXR400.
@@Gio-mhh yo, there is a German company called alpha Technik that makes these plates that go after the carburettors that restrict airflow. You need to install them and then show the papers and pictures (if you do it yourself, take pictures, a shop will put a stamp on the papers from the kit to assure the inspector that the plates have been installed) to TÜV and they‘ll enter it into the papers as 48HP. Once you pass TÜV, you can remove them as they absolutely ruin the bike down in low and high RPM‘s and you can‘t adjust the carbs for the restrictors without putting the jets. Do this at your own responsibility as it can cost you your driver‘s license.

I have a 1992 ZXR400 too since this week, they all pretty much hover around 60-65hp but the ZXR400R squeezed out another 5hp over the normal ones. Really fun bikes, just a little cramped if you’re a tall rider (6’ or 1.85 meters or more).

I had a motorcycle like this 20 years ago, so my memory is very old.But my motorcycle and another ZXR400 from my friend drove 240km / h (original gear ratio). With 6 teeth more (transmission ratio) my motorcycle drove about 215km/h. My motorcycle accelerated better than yours. Are you sure that it has 64 hp? With 34PS the motorcycle drives about 180km/h and there was a throttling with 48PS. I would check the engine (carburetor, false air, etc.).
@@13500rpm I agree. My cbr400 was much quicker. The zxr400 was meant to be the quickest of all the 400cc. Not the case in this video. It seemed lazy on acceleration
💩 bull = this engine is in perfect condition 👌🏻 240 from 60 hp yea dream longer 🫣👎🏻 105-167 tacho in 6,5 sec is like sv 650 ,thers plenty factor impact on acceleration and vmax especially if you look at tacho like tahco error , wind , incline driver weight position suit 👌🏻
speedometer dose not works as it sued... when passing t5 dokka at 200km/h the t5 sued have at least 170km/h for that low passing... at 220 on the gadge he has max 170 in real time!

nice bike, I managed to get my ZXR 400 with 48HP (German A2 license) up to 230 on the clock. Full tuck and a slight downhill will get it to 230.

yo how did you manage do get it down to 48hp? i wanted to get one (i have a2) but i thought it wasn’t possible to lower its power

Normal thing. Every sport bike has clunky gearbox. No worry about climate. You should only change engine oil with different density/properties.
