You already convinced me to purchase after watching your "How Loud Should You Master Your Music?". Thankfully, Youlean put a link to THIS vid on his page for Loudness Meter, so after I purchased I watched this one straight away. I will be watching this several times over until I really have it. Absolutely fantastic work, and thank you so much for what you do!

I'm getting much more use from this Youlean meter than the much more expensive Izotope Insight plugin I currently use. The Izotope plugin made some of my DAW sessions crash, and the developer can't fix the issue. This Youlean meter was an insta-buy. Thanks for the 20% off. That video you did on saturation was a deep dive and very scientific. When you look up Audio Engineer in a book, your face pops up. Ok I just built a very tall ladder, its time for me to jump off now lol.
I’ve had this on my computer for a while but not used it. After reading up about it recently I inserted it at the last in the chain after my Drawmer S73 compressor and then soloed my group tracks and individually set the output levels to peaks around -18. I went through and did this for all guitars and bass just observing the data from the loudness meter to adjust the faders. When I played the track it came alive and there seemed to be more space for the individual instruments and the bass isn’t boomy. I lastly set the lead guitars riffs levels to sit with the level of everything else Before that everything was being pushed to the limit volume wise and it sounded muddy. Obviously the compressors don’t have to work as hard when you master at a lower level and have the final output level at around 0 Db. Yes this is an essential plug-in and visually tells you more accurately than your ears what’s going on. 👍👍👍
Thank you very much for the video! Super detailed as always :) Though I'm a little confused by Loudness Range vs. Dynamic Range: you mentioned that normally for commercial audios, the ideal Dynamic Range is 8 LU (10:35). While at the end of your example 10:33, you suggested that maybe you could increase the Dynamic Range at 9.1 LU, which is more than 8 LU, while the Loudness Range is 6.7 LU, below 8 LU. So, for many commercial tracks as you mention, should we target Dynamic Range at 8 LU, or Loudness Range at 8 LU?
Wow!! I'm really new at this and have been looking for some way to see the difference between what makes a good backing track for performance vs. a good mix for publishing. This plugin looks like a great way to do it. Thanks for a VERY informative video -- there's a lot going on here, but I think you have done a truly amazing job of showing all the capabilities and demonstrating how to do a lot of things. If I could learn as much in every 15 minutes of my life as I did in the short time I spent watching this video -- wow.... I'm anxious to jump in and try it out. And to think I can get started for free -- unbelievable. THANK YOU!

Found this through you a couple years ago. Would love a “5 years later” video on how this fits into your mixing / mastering process among the various ways loudness is sought out in the current music delivery/listening options 🤙🏽😎🖤🕺
Quite a lot above my head. I can see how useful this is but I am confused by some of the terms, and how to use the alerts in practice. There is a quick example (using the limiter in the Spotify case) but it would be great to see more examples for very different situations. I guess what I need is a good mastering tut first of all; so I am watching your loudness tut next, but I would still love to see another vid on this plugin with more varied examples.
Thank you!! I love this meter and this helped to clear a lot of things up for me as I get used to mastering at home for streaming platforms as well as compact disc.
Just found out about this plugin it's great and i'll be buying the full version soon on your link! :) Quick side note, something to tell your developer friend, he spelled 'success' wrong on the screen after you drag and drop a track :)

Haha I had the exact same question, and someone else posted it
did you figure it out what you should aim for? I am guessing it's dynamic range.

I have been looking for something like this for soo long. thank you in the mix
Found this through you a couple years ago. Would love a “5 years later” video on how this fits into your mixing / mastering process among the various ways loudness is sought out in the current music delivery/listening options 🤙🏽😎🖤🕺
Hey man! awesome video, thanks for taking the time to explain all that!
Is there a CD preset in it?
@@javimetal2507 yes there is, I target around -10 LUFS integrated for CD masters, you can set up custom presets too.
Wow, there're so much in this plugin/video I didn't know about, especially that easter egg!😂🔥
Thanks!
Thanks so much for another great video. You never cease to amaze me!
Thanks
Nice explanation of an excellent tool, I have had it since the BETA releases.
A+ Demo/tutorial of an A+ metering tool. Thanks for laying it all out!
Okay, now I need it ! Thanks for letting us know about that plugin
Thank you for the 20% off! Amazing tutorial and definitely a recommended plugin.
Very good video. I'd watch this a few times before it sinks in. Thank you
Just found out about this plugin it's great and i'll be buying the full version soon on your link! :) Quick side note, something to tell your developer friend, he spelled 'success' wrong on the screen after you drag and drop a track :)
Hahaha, thanks for catching this out! Will fix that in the next update. 🙂
Hi, I'm from Bangladesh, I've seen every video of yours and it has helped me a lot.
Great overview! Used your code and purchased the pro version. The dynamics meter is well worth it.
I've had the freebie version of this for some time. All I do with it is target -17 integrated LUFS. After watching this I'll screw around with it & see what it does.
We use a lot of Shure SM7's around here (national radio network) but be advised to use the 3 kHz bump on the mic. Without it you are sounding muffled and dull. It's really meant to help voice.
Thank you for the advice, I kept it flat until now :)
