- This is my updated video on how to drift with a Logitech Driving Force GT @ 900 degrees.
A lot of comments are still made on message boards and forums stating this wheel is too slow to drift with, and being a G27 drifter I decided to prove that's not the case.

Found this wheel with the pedals for 25 bucks at my local used game shop, glad to hear that it's a good one because I could never put down 300 bucks on the newer logitech wheels. Just wish it had a clutch.

Thanks a lot mate, best drift tutorial on UA-cam for sure. I tried moving up from 300-600-900 and It really helped me a lot. I have subscribed ;)
Did this tips 2 years ago and made me able to drift with a dfgt with 900 degrees full rotation. I drifted with this wheel for 2 years until i got a g29. I wanna say thanks for this mate it really helped me.
Great vid! I have been using dfgt fir over 3 years and started of with ps3 gt 6 and now playing assetto corsa on pc. This wheel is definitely good enough to get hang of it(drifting).
Fantastic video. Thanks for the help and showing some love to the 'ol DFGT🖒
Great demonstration at the end of the day it's all about seat time and patience, i've upgraded this setup so i can use the side shifter for shifting and have a 14€ thrustmaster flight joystick as a hydro handbrake + it acts as a clutch at the same time when i pull it in slight side angle (other axis) i set the engagement % 53-57 for both clutch and handbrake so i dont need to pull it all the way back. I tried to make a paddle shifter extension from a freesbee which i trimmed a bit and cut to half but that joystick has such a realistic hydro feeling almost like the one in my e30 missile. I might inspired someone who can not spend on a better wheel now i can not complain about anything
i moved from my thrustmaster red legend to the DFGT and i found out that drifting was a real thing with the force feedback and that stuff, by practicing i think have improved, gonna try ur setup for drifting.
Just bought this wheel recently and looking forward to learn how to drift with it, thanks for the video!
im going to get one soon but idk wether to get this one or g27 for the clutch
@@konjenix769 I only got this since I was on a tight budget but if you have the money for the g27 I'd get that. This is my first wheel purchase too

Guy, Thank you for that guide!
I just bought a dfgt looking forward to your wheel settings
Logitech Driving Force Th8 shifter and the t3pa pro pedals , and the LGT shifter as handbrake = perfect
Its honestly almost the highest value setup when you think about it
when you talked about the clutch i have solved mine. i bought the h shifter and following an instructional video from amstudio, i got it to work with my pc. by doing so i can put the car in neutral, give it gas and throw it into first

The wheel is amazing, I used it for 3 years. Now I've upgraded to a T300 but the DFGT is more than enough for the starter
Definitely unbeatable in terms of bang for your buck when it comes to a beginner/first wheel.
The T300RS? Is it a big improvement over the driving force gt? I'm thinking about making the same upgrade myself.
@@Mustis1524 did you end up upgrading
Hey king are you still there i just want to thank you because i learned how to drift, how to pick a wheel from you. Now i have driving force gt and i love it so much.
Hey mate, that's great to hear! Hope you're enjoying it :)
omg thankyou this is the one i have and i was worried it had a too slow spin rate for drifting
Great wheel to start off with!
It sure is!
i am using this wheel and 3d-printed clutch and shifter from local company in my country(look up ZShifter in google if you are interested). I can say that this wheel is more than enough to drift and do touge runs just fine, my clutch and shifter are doing OK. The price for that all i've got is approximately $150, which is just $30-$50 lower then used G25-G27 setup. So if you'd want shifter and clutch to use with your DFGT, you should consider saving some money, selling your DF on eBay and buying used g25 of g27 given that custom shifter and clutch with DFGT is almost as expensive as full g-series steering wheel with all that included, superseding more USB slots and less comfortable to use. Anyway, the video is great!
I've got a dfgt with working 3 pedals from g25 and a handbrake from a flight joystick, that's sick
Thank you very much bro!
Nice video as always.
Thanks!
I found this wheel in a shop, i'll be buying it tomorrow or a bit later for 55bucks. It's pretty cheap so i hope it works well and it still has the pedalboard !
I'm having problem thats a complete opposite of what you described, I usually overcorrect and end up in the gravel. I think I just need to do a lot of practice, I have like 400 hours on normal road racing and about 2 in drifting ;)
Anyways, I think I found a solution for missing clutch and H - shifter. Just buy some really cheap wheel with sequential shift (I personally have Momo Racing wheel, beacause it was my first wheel and I am too lazy to sell it :) ) and you Momo's sequantial shifter for handbrake and clutch, for me it works perfectly. And also the additional wheel serves as perfect button box for normal racing ;)
Thanks for reading, and I hope you found this helpful and can maybe help me with my overcorrecting problem :)
Cheers and thanks for these amazing videos!
£30 wheel, absolute bargain! Loving it. Works well with this, project cars 2, forza 7 (to an extent) ets and ats
Got mine second hand for 37e. Should arrive tomorrow. Can't wait to get it!
@@thisusedtobemyrealname7876 good stuff, you won't be disappointed. Especially for that price! All the other wheels at the moment and super expensive, I'm assuming it's due to this pandemic because you could pick a g29 up for like 150 now they're like 200
@@FifaShlong The pandemic definitely drove prices up. I'm interested if there'll be cheap second hand wheels when it's all behind us.

Sup dude! And thanks! I like being back, even though it's not as often as I'd like!
LetsTestDrive you have a lot going on in your life man.... keep up the good work on the video's 😎 they are looking good
Thanks!
Hey, because of your first video of you showing how to drift in assetto corsa, i picked up the Driving force gt for 94 euro, and also bought assetto corsa, and love the game so much, i've got 56 hours on assetto now but i cannot drift without stability control off, i use 50% but when i have it off when i play online, i keep putting too much trottle on and lose the cars balance, i was wondering if you could hop on assetto corsa sometime with me and play together, maybe teach me a few things
Definitely stop using stability control! You'll have to relearn drifting without it, so I'd suggest lowering the wheel's rotation until you're comfortable/capable of drifting, stick to practicing with the same car, and with around 5-10 hours of practice you should be all good.
Oh ok, thank you! :)
Let me know how you go!
I got so much better at drifting, thank you! :) would you like to play sometime? if you still play it, if you'd be okay with it. I'm 17 btw
Yeah sure, just add me on steam: LetsTestDrive
Same settings same wheel and my wheel doesnt even react like theres 0% effects
You got right drivers installed and enabled ffb in the ligitech profiler(not sure of the name) and in the game?
Hey dude, can you please show how would all the settings look in the Content Manager launcher?
I found easier my daily drive (with little drifts) on E36 318Ti than drift in assetto... x"DDD but definetly ill try ur profile/conf tomorrow (thx in advice! :D), im sure the wheel behaviour (real feeedback) was the problem :P anyway look this, i bought GT for 20€ (second hand) total like new, plus logitech racing MOMO (the old one) for another 20€, and Thrusmaster Joystick (random/old one i had at home).. so, i play on GT wheel and pedals +2pedals from MOMO (4 total, just use 3 +footrest x"DD) and the joystick as a handbrake x"DD just pluged all in, and then configure what u want in asseto like gas=press pedal GT // clutch=just press pedal from MOMO... works like a charm, the perfect low cost sim config :D
Why haven't I thought about that before!
I have a second steering wheel with pedals, so I can hook both up and use the 2nd set as a clutch XD
best wheel ever
i use the sequential for shifting and the space bar for handbrake. Sounds ridiculous but when you get used to it, it's not bad
So I'm planning on getting one if I find it. Does the car act weird because of no clutch or?
hello i have problem with my dfgt. I have the same settings as you. When i go slowly and tries to turn the steering wheel it is terribly hard to turn as if I had no support in the car. is this normal??
THX MAAAN
I have the logitech driving force pro (model before the GT) and i can actually drift with it easier than i can on my friends G27.
I bought one last Summer to get into racing. What are you using for gear changes and handbrake?
Hey bro i just found and subbed to your channel bcs of tge good quality content :) I'd like to know how you got that speedometer to look like that? Is it a mod? Is it somewhere ingame that i just haven't looked yet? I really like the look of it so pls halp
While you're on the track, just scroll your mouse over to the right side of the screen, and the speedo/guage app should be selectable. You can move your mouse over the speedo once it's on screen for more options, like relocating it and making it larger/smaller.
which is wheel is faster, g25 or g27? i mean its only cuz g27 has 2 motor and dfgt only 1 or the mechanism helical has something to do with it?
I had the same wheel but tjrottle and brake are not axis opperated if I even touch the peddal it goes 100% pushed. Can you give me suggestion how to fix that. Sorry for bad english
Can you do tutorial how to set it up
Fellow (at least, I think you are lol) Aussie here! Do you think you could give live for speed a shot? Both for drifting and as a review?
The main problems I have is sometimes I catch the wheel at the wrong times (usually too late) when counter steering to extend the drift whilst sideways. It doesn't happen all the time, just need to practice to improve in that aspect, I think.
I've got a DFGT and CSR Elite pedals here, in case anyone was wondering.
I'll definitely give any driving title a shot! Time permitting!
Alright thanks! By the way, it has a free (3 cars and a track, in case you want to try it first) demo with multiplayer!
Definitely deserve more subs, just keep at it!
Are these Logitech and game settings realistic or it just makes drifting easier?
With those settings in the description, changing the logitech game profile to 300 degrees rotation seems to do nothing
Quick question: Why abs?
In which map are you driving ??
There is a posibility to use shifter knoob as a handbrake?
Can u use a g25 pedal set on the gt??
Hi, is ur wheel automatically listed in the presets? Coz my not
when is next video coming out?
+LetsTestDrive , nice video mate! I recently bought assetto corsa and Logitech G29. I'm struggling to reduce the degrees of rotation to anything below 900. I've set it to 300 degrees in game, but it doesn't take effect. Even at 300, my steering wheel rotates 900 in sync with game ... am i missing any other settings?
i also tried to reduce the degree of rotation in profiler setting, but no effect.
Not sure about the G29 as I've heard there are a few issues whenever they update the logitech gaming software. You could try an older version of the software?
LetsTestDrive I'll give that a try. thanks for the advice
You got quite supple hands ;)
You'd like it huh?
Does anyone know if the Thrustmaster T150 has faster ffb than the Driving Force GT and feels noticeably faster in feeling tire grip? I need to look for a new budget wheel and can't seem to find another DFGT, and would like to try one with faster ffb but can't find any info.
Get the T150 or TMX if you are on a budget. For AC, set the gain to 100% and 0 center spring in thrustmaster profiler. In the game app turn of all FFB effects; Slips, road, curb and stuff but set minimum force to 30%. Depending on the mode set the ffb strength % from 50 - 65. (Depends on car packs and mods)
do you know how to assign the shifter on the gt to handbrake?
I cant get it to work
Lucaa Yea I think you go to secondary under controls and set the handbrake from there
What's the settings for the car ? Tyres, suspension...
How are you shifting without using the knob? Are there buttons or paddles on the back???
There are really small paddles on the back of the DFGT.
LetsTestDrive Are they viable/comfortable as shifters all the time (Racing and Drifting) or only just drifting sessions?
Paddles aren't good for drifting because the wheel is constantly spinning and you lose track of where they are when wanting to up/down shift. If you want to drift with this wheel, you need to be using the sequential shifter for gear changes, and using a joystick/some other mechanism/button for the handbrake. If you want more details on the paddle shifters, check out my DFGT vs G27 review.
@@brandflakes1 I know I'm a year late but there are adaptors on ebay to make the paddles bigger if you are still interested.

the wheel is so damn stiff and heavy and shakes my entire desk, how is yours so smooth?
That's it, as a challenge im going to learn to drift on automatic only.
do it with the mouse if you lookinmg for hardocre mode
I have a Driving force pro but it feels to stiff when turning the wheel. In your video you turn it so easily but how? I fcked up some settings ?
I got mine yesterday. Try removing the adapter and then start drifting. The wheel will be buttery smooth (but no feedback, You need to manually turn the wheel to recenter). I guess ''LetsTestDrive'' did the same :D
Awesome drifting btw
You don't mess with Z Yes it works. But no forced feedback
Whats your profiler version? thx ^^
Can you make a review for iracing?
Yes I definitely want to get around to finishing one off!
how do i shift by myself? Because it shifts automaticaly and thats really annoying
Hey ive been having some problems. Im using an old Driving force pro wheel i got for like $20 and im getting kinda better at drifting but for some reason whenever i use my Handbrake i cant throttle anymore to maintain a drift or exit out of one. Is it because i have autoclutch on and i dont have a clutch? do i need to tap it more sparingly? whats the deal? been trying to see what my issue is for a while now
In Assetto Corsa the autoclutch doesn't work when using the handbrake, so the engine will stall when the handbrake is engaged, hence the problem. I do mention that in this video, and the only real solution is to drive around the problem and get used to it. Cars with more instant torque like the BMW in this video make it easier, but the supra with it's huge lag can be hard to drive.
Thanks for the info. I can kinda get around it by lightly tapping the E-Brake instead of holding it down in some parts. Different cars act differently with the E-Brake it seems.
Also hate to bother you again but whenever i launch the game from Logitech Profiler it doesnt apply the settings? it used to but now its not doing it and i dont know why. acs.exe is correct right?
Nevermind i fixed it. Thanks for the tips man. Time to practice my ass off till i can drift initial D style without crashing into a wall every 2 seconds
Hey whatsup again. Im getting a lot better with my drifting but im asking about the FFB settings. Whenever im getting out of a counter steer sometimes the wheel is REALLY REALLY stiff to turn. Should i turn down my FFB?
Another question: What are the best FFB settings for regular racing on a DFP/DFGT? Like F1 racing or just racing around a track and not trying to drift? thanks for your help
BigBossBob u have to hold clutch when pulling the e brake then let of the clutch and gas on it will power through
i just sold my dfgt... like every video before my newest one was made with the dfgt
what is your setting all
I read on gran turismo forum that this wheel is to slow to countersteer so it's not for drifting. Is that true?
dude wtf, he dedicated like 4 mins of the video to that question
could you please add subtitle for this video,I subbed your channel largely for the subtitle ,because without sub it's very hard for us foreigners to understand what you said
My brain can't identified folder named skills...
i can drift on lfs for as long my tires haven't exploded, but in asetto corsa, even on lowers degrees I have issues, I don't know what it is but something feels weird, but I have few years experience in lfs, however, I don't really drift on lfs, mainly racing.
what with clutch?
my wheel goes crazy on this settings, why?
Hey ! Just a question, How do you set the shifter as handbreak? tried and tried but cant get it to work. Have a good day!
go to the "Secondary" in game and just search about handbrake
I found it there, but it wont work anyway :( thanks for answer ! :)
Unbind it from shifters before trying to bind it to handbrake
what i did i found a old controller i cut it in half. hotglued it to the joystick with ruber bands and thats my handbrake lol
what track?
People say it's very loud. Can you give a statement on this, or someone who used it? Because I'm thinking of buying this, because it's relatively cheap at the moment :)
If you have other people in your house and you're going to be playing with this wheel after midnight while other people are trying to sleep, it's probably too loud. But during normal play with the games volume up or your headphones on you won't notice the sound of the wheel. Here's a sound comparison I made ua-cam.com/video/LrQaeNs5XwY/v-deo.htmlm40s
so if i were to get a third party shifter and pedals, this wheel would be very good for drifting?
yeah but the price u pay for the third party ones are just pointless just get a full kit its cheaper and u get a better wheel off it
My game doesnt recognize the wheel and pedals, any solution?
Has podido?
Can I use the same settings for a G29 ?
Can I drift whit a Logitec Driving Force Pro???
Yes
how do you change tires to street when i look up how its just modders changing the mesh look of the tires not the actual type of tire
On the menu it brings up where you start the race there is a button for car settings. In the car settings there is a tab for tires. Under the tires tab you can select which type of tire you’re using from eco/street through semi slicks

try it with stability control 25%, its much easier, better and more realistic. I have an RWD car, i know what im saying, something is not good in this game. Overall setting 107%, in game gain 51% everything else 0, enhanced Under steer: uncheck
haha but isn't Stability control generally bad in this game, making it way easier and if you join multiplayer, people don't use it, so in defacto you'd have to relearn drifting again in the game after removing even the 25% ... I do drifting in real life aswell and guess what - it is WAY easier, even in a 90hp Open differencial miata...
ua-cam.com/video/5nMdQAg9Vtg/v-deo.html that's me.
nice vid mate! I have got an 82' toyota celica, maybe its esier in real life because we feel everything under our butts... :D anyway, i slowly reduced the stability control and its help me to learn faster, than if i reduce the degree of rotation.
Ye, lowering degrees helps but I kept raising it back and lowering it again, it's a mess for me... I guess I'll try the stability control and go from there, lowering it when I feel confident to move on.
P.S - that Celica of urs sounds wicked awesome - those cars are gems, has pop up headlights ?

its verry verrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyy noisy tho
use manual
Man, please come to the point. I'm at 4 minutes now and havent learned anything yet.
It is a great video overall but i see some element i don't really like about it.
First of all it's seem like you pretend to be the drift god or something like that because you are just kinda "trash talking" other people that point out a little inconvenience that can be bothering while using this wheel by basically saying that they are bad (by your words "they don't have the experience") which i feel is pretty funny if you consider that you have, like you said,~ 400h hours drifting overall while other people have like 3000k hours drifting. Im not saying that im better than you because im not but i think it's pretty unwelcomed from somebody that is this "new" if we can say so. Moreover, this problem can just be countered by pressing the brake and let the brake slide the car and accelerate at the corner exit.
Secondly, you complain about he fact that it don't have an h patern shifter and no clutch. For the clutch part, i can't deny that stalling is annoying and it would be really handy to have one but for the upshift and downshift im half okay with that. Im not okay because you use the pedal shifter on the wheel, obviously, you won't be able to up or downshift because the wheel is not straight which is normal but you have a seperate sequential shifter on the right with which you can up or downshift during while the wheel is turned at any degree during the turn and if you manage to use it wisely and down shift or upshift at the perfect moment, you won't stall and keep up drifting. even though you said that using the +/- shifter may solve the problem, you don't use it so you can't just say that the up/downshift problem is important when, if you use the +/- shifter, it won't happen even though it won't prevent you from stalling but in that case it's the clutch pedal issue. The only problem with the +/- shifter is that you can't shift from 5th all the way to 2nd for exemple.
The e92 is not a great car to learn in my opinion. it is just too grippy. Personally, i learned with the Drift Workshop Toyota JZX100 Chaser, the drift setup e30 BMW or the Clutch gang Nissan Skyline R32.
This video is still a really great tutorial on how to drift with a DFGT but you just don't use every ressources that are given by the wheel and your confidence make you sound like a pretensious man even though i doubt that you are, that simply unfortunate.
My guy why write this long ass essay when this video was made 4 years ago, like the guy won't even see your comment.
2nd, he had 300 hour's in drifting 4 years ago. He probably has alot more now.
4mins into the video and you're still just talking and not showing me a How to video... jeez
