I’m fine with free form passing for those looking for more fine control and challenging passing.
BUT classic passing should deliver the passing accuracy of each NFL QB when throwing to an open receiver. Complication for complications sake is BS.

It’s hard bc sometimes I’m still moving with the QB and if I don’t stop & set my feet the direction is so thrown off from the left analog especially trying to step up in the pocket
Passing idea is good but when I got a fast wr 2 to 3 steps in front and can’t throw far enuff w/o getting ball picked that’s a problem

So when I have a guy wide up 99 Mahomes ultimate team, L2 for free form touch pass it and free form and moved my left stick up its in the green and say out of reach when the ball is right infront of my WR that’s how I am Lossing games can u tell me what I doing wrong plz

One question. When you begin to push LT, use left Stick. Directly after you release the WR button on controller or in the last second ?
So a lot of the time I actually hold LT when I snap the ball because I know I’ll be free form passing. But when I’m not doing that I hold LT right when I know who I’m about to pass it to. Then with the left stick i pretty much do it simultaneously. Example: if I want to throw it to a streak down the field and I see that he’s open. I’ll hold LT and move the left stick up as I press the receiver button. So everything should really happen right when u make the decision who ur throwing to. I hope that makes sense

Welcome to the community homie💯 appreciate you…. Also my answer changed slightly over the past couple months. As I’ve gotten better at free form in madden 24. I know just keep my pointer finger on the left trigger (not necessarily holding it down just on top of it) and then within a second or two if throwing the ball that’s when I decide if it needs a free form pass or not, hopefully that makes sense
Have had a terrible time at passing smh a part of is i need to bemore methodical another part is my timing is way off, and i cant user the way i want...
Definitely gotta be more mindful of how i free form wnd this vid will be helpful in that regard
It took me a little bit to get used to passing in madden 24. The more u practice the more it’ll become second nature to u. For me I rarely even make throws holding the left trigger now
Just keep practicing. One thing to help with that is to hit ur short passes. If u get used to free forming short passes the long passes will come naturally as well
They have all these diffrent versions of free form what one do you recommend?

Dumb question but do you free form post routes? Example that flood concept play you were running, the WR on the left side against cover 3 should have a small space between the mlb and safety behind him. How would you angle that FF pass?
No dumb questions here my brotha! So ultimately it depends on where the defense is if i free form. But I would say 60-70% of the time I will have to free for posts away from deep safeties. And what route are u talking about specifically for the second question? Maybe tell me what minute in the video you’re talking about so I know for sure😎 thanks for the question

I'm going to try holding the left stick halfway method, I'm a Giants fan and I can't see myself using another team lol Jones sucks in this game and I'm tired of getting my ass kicked. I used to be so good in this game. Thanks for the advice though bro.

I use it with a rod, burrow, and Heribert the low qbs I just aim the left stick

All left trigger does for me is throw a low ball. Is that not the low ball throwing mechanic?
What do you mean halfway? Like if the slot wr is on a post vs a cover 3. Do I hold the Ls halfway down to get it over the Lb and in front of the safety?
I mean halfway more so to make sure it’s not an overthrow. In the case you are talking about i would probably hold it all the way to make sure you can get the ball away from the defenders.
Basically you have to go an practice your passing an play with the settings to get used to the mechanic. I guess it's to have a skill gap to separate the noob from the pro. I like it. it's just going to take time to figure it out 😂
Do these same tips help for ps4? Kind of rhetorical but never know!
So on ps4 they don’t have free form passing but u can use the concepts I talked about with leading receivers certain ways to avoid defenders and such

I was top 300 in 23 and now have to learn how to pass all over again. We just got use to free form and now they change it again , ish is frustrating. I played 20/20 last year with Brady now 1/1 with Allen

I recommend just picking one and sticking to it. You can change the radius your allowed to move it but other then that it’s all based on practice in my opinion
For sure. I think for most people they should find what they are comfortable with. But for the sake of the video I tried to find a good threshold for people to at least have an idea where to start if that makes sense. I think ur totally right
Maybe I’m losing my mind but I am on Xbox and my Xbox doesn’t show me the pass mechanic under difficulty I just have gameplay helpers.

So all u do is hold L2 and press the icon u want to throw to. U can either bullet pass the ball while holding L2, lob pass, or touch pass it. As long as ur holding L2 when u press the button to throw the free form will be activated

@dubc2922 so all of that happens simultaneously. say u wanted to lead the receiver straight down the field, you would hold L2, press the receiver icon, and hold the left stick up all at the same time. Then when the QB releases the ball there’s no need to hold on to any of those buttons, u usually want to click on to the receiver you’re throwing to

@dubc2922 if u need more help there’s actually a madden tutorial u can go to within the game that explains free form as well. It may be some extra help if u still need it
What do i do if the pass mechanics section is not in my settings?
Are you playing on the current gen consoles or last gen? Cause last gen (Xbox One) doesn't have the extra passing mechanics.

You’re good my homie. It’s tough to say bc each game is different but I was say somewhere between 70% free fork 30% regular. Honestly if a receiver is wide open I’m not free forming but if there’s any defender near I’m prolly free forming
@@RedZoneRocky firstly thanks for the quick reply man and secondly what would you class as wide open because in the video you talk about how free forming can help with better rac catches so wouldn’t free forming open receivers help? Or is that just unnecessary in most Scenarios
@kuba5048 so yeah it definitely helps with rac catching. But if a receiver has like 10+ yards of space I just wanna be sure that we get him the ball, personally that’s just me. Sometimes just bc it happens naturally I’ll free form it anyways even if there’s tons of space. Hopefully that makes sense. Also no problem my man
Someone plz help all my settings are right and online it keeps giving me low passes instead free form not 100% of the time but I ku sometimes and I will throw interceptions for something that idk wtf is going on

What do u mean by low passes? Because on next gen there are no low passes. Do u mean under thrown passes?

No not at all because with lower rated QBs you’ll find that it is a lot harder to make accurate throws with free form. The way throwing is this year sometimes lower rated QBs throw the ball to Taylor swift up in the stands

I ask because I’ve used Pickett and Herbert n I could throw very well with both. Also, have had been sliced with vs AR and Lamar. I didn’t see much of a difference so I was curious.

the left analog stick and only up and down on the
movement?
You can aim it any directions homie. If u need to lead your receiver up and to the left u can aim it that way. Don’t restrict yourself from up and down because then you won’t be able to lead passing other ways. U can lead pass any direction u want. Hope this helps

You can ONLY do it on Current gen. Old gen Xbox One/Ps4 can't do it.

I free form probably 95% of the time. Since passing in madden 24 is inconsistent sometimes if a receiver is WIDE OPEN. I’ll just regularly throw him the ball. But ya most of the time it’s Freeform passes
I tried free form passing with deep balls mine still get picked if the defender is 2 to 3 steps behind me
What are your free form settings? That shouldn’t be happening especially if your lob passing it as well

Hold LT and aim the pass direction with the left stick, while holding then press the receiver button.
I do want to throw more TDs and less interceptions, which is exactly why I play NFL2K5. Coverages make sense, ball trajectory is correct, great QBs play like great QBs. 30 years of Madden and they haven’t figured out the fade route.

Hm weird. Under thrown? Have u changed the settings? And are u making sure to hold the left trigger down? When u throw a deep ball and hold the left stick up u should really have over throws and not any under thrown balls
