      @@banty6350 You can take the hypotenuse as any value, lets say 'x'. All lengths will change accordingly but at the end the value of 'x' will get cancelled out on both sides of the formula. Try it. So taking the value as '1' actually simplifies the process.

    The proof is very common in youtube...what is NOT common is to prove why sin(A+B) WORKS FOR OBTUSE ANGLE or CIRCULAR FUNCTIONS (i.e in all quadrants) ? Also, why cos (-theta) = cos(theta) because negative angle is concept adopted by our mathematicians but strangely , it works !!!

      For ease of calculation the hypotenuse is taken as 1. You can take it any value, accordingly the lengths of other sides will vary but their ratio will be same and the final result of the formula will be same.
