  • Note the " :) " No blood and gore, sorry. Just a couple of brave little horses approaching a moose. We did not know he was there when we let them out. Also note: Some have suggested keeping our horses in the barn or fencing out the wildlife. Even if that were possible, we neither want to coop our horses up or disturb the natural roaming habits of our local wildlife. Like a couple hundred thousand other horses in Montana, ours seem to get along just fine with their local friends, but thank you for your concern.

    I like how the horses trot out all happy like "time to start the day!" then the second they see the moose their just like "what the fuck is that?"

      Horses, very social animals that consider harem/bands important. They replicate a teamwork approach to defense.

    there was no problem between the moose and the horses, just curiousity. It was a good video, beautiful horses enjoying their life and the moose enjoying his, all is well.

      This is a young elk, but in fact, elks are not directly much taller than horses, especially rather high breeds, they are rather longer, wider, heavier and stronger.

    Really would be better without the dramatic music especially when nothing in particular seemed to happen. But was a beautiful setting.

    I was riding my Arab Chance down this trail at dusk, heading back to camp after a long day hunting, he was a fast walker so I was always out front and at this real bushy part of the trail Chance leaped sideways nearly dumped me, I looked up and there was a Huge moose, well huge for Shira's moose which are more elk size, I think all Horses naturally respect the moose, after all its a big animal that has been shown to be unpredictable

      Sometimes they travel as a family but I've never seen them in herds like elk.

    Why would you put your horses in Danger like that? Moose should not be taken lightly. I've seen a bull moose get hit by a truck, get up and roll the truck over with its antlers.

    The are actually common chestnuts not Arabian. Arabians are externally slender and very small they have a bowl shape head and big eyes along with an upward facing tail mutation. They’re also extremely expensive and not even hybrids are available in that area for cheap. Not to mention they don’t do well in the cold.

      @@EnduranceHorseMT it’s a term we use for the most common horse the first species that all started from. Much like red jungle fowl. All other breeds are descendants of the common chestnut new breeds came to existence due to either selective breeding or natural selection.

    Those Arabians were very lucky the Moose was disinterested. They cannot match sure-footing in the snowy ice against a Moose, and they were slipping just walking.

      They are brothers from another mother :) Same sire different moms. Grandsons of Europejczyk, sons of Euro's Fire, mom's are MWF Aleja and MWF Palisada

      palomino 1/2 Arab true palomino which is no longer exist (True palomino) 16.1 hands tall beauty.
      I was watching the foot work of your horses thanking there was a mouse on the ground 👀 if I really watch the video the horses head would’ve told where the threat was

      The fastest horses are faster than a moose on dry land, but these horses are short! They can go 50-100 miles in a day in an endurance ride but would lose to moose and other horses in a short speed race :) We try to stay away from moose.
