It's nice to see episodes of Dangerous Assignment with Brian Donlevy on UA-cam in addition to its showing on cable TV. Interesting spy chasing series, similar to Herbert Marshall's The Man Called X, capitalizing on post war foreign intrigue.
Oh, I didn't know Michael Rennie did a regular TV series, let alone one. based on the Orson Welles-Joseph Cotten film that I have on video. I'll take a peek soon.. I do remember Rennie doing guest stints on numerous programs years ago.
I loved this series when I was a child in 1952 at age 6 to its end. I also loved Radio shows & wondered why they never brought "The Man Called X" to t.v.? I actually saw Herbert Marshall in person when he made an appearance for his movie " Five Weeks in a Balloon" in 1961! Did you know that he lost a leg in WWI? Great actor!
Virginia Christine was a staple both on radio and also later on television. She was very active during the Golden Age of Radio in parts from "Gunsmoke", Suspense to Dangerous Assignment. Many of the radio actors can also be later seen in the early vintage television shows such as Virginia Christine. Virginia Christine is well remembered as Mrs. Olson for the many Folger's Coffer commercials she acted in on television for many years.
Please please continue to put these videos on I love them so much . I enjoy these so much I have not really watched any show s on cable 😂. I enjoy the clothing the cars and hairstyles
The radio show of "Dangerous Assignment" is just as good (if not better) than its' Television counterpart. The Theater of the Mind can bring about more surprises than one may realize. Brian Donlevy played both parts to perfection. He never disappointed as a very competent Actor well suited to both radio and television which was not always the case with radio Actors.
"Just skip it!".........a popular phrase used by Brian Donlevy as Steve Mitchell in many of the episodes of "Dangerous Assignment", especially when on radio.
Philip Van Zandt was a prolific actor, with over 200 acting parts. Sadly, he committed suicide by overdose of sleeping pills due to depression over his lagging career. He was in Citizen Kane.
After watching a few of the episodes in the series including ones from the early production to the last season offered. I find it sort of comical that it appears the gubment actually went out and hired "Joe Blow" off the street and sent him on "assignments" without any training, qualifications, common sense, or wherewithal. I firmly believe by the end of the series Donlevy has developed a thick callous encasing his skull from all times he's taken by surprise and conked on the head. At least every show and sometimes twice. Looking at the way writers envisioned the world through this obvious attempt to make America look like the "oh so goood guys" defending democracy, capitalism, and the right to run amok all over the world promoting the American way. But using an incapable, untrained, partially educated moron? No wonder we're going down the Trumpty Turd Train track straight to Moskva and the loving arms of Vlad, The Czombee Czar of All the Russias!
thanks. Great tv show, as all yours are.

My hero...again.(ls)
A very good episode of "Dangerous Assignment." However, several long commercials interfered with the enjoyment of this series.
Yeah these commercials 🤦♀️ but look these are great shows😃
I miss the opening sequence with Herb Butterfield from the radio show. It always set the stage for the story when this series was earlier on radio.
a talented actor
Philip Van Zandt was a prolific actor, with over 200 acting parts. Sadly, he committed suicide by overdose of sleeping pills due to depression over his lagging career. He was in Citizen Kane.
And a zillion episodes of The Three Stooges!
He was born in Holland.

Dolores Moran was a pin-up girl in 1943 and in 1944 she was cast along side Bacall and Bogart in To Have And Have Not.
