Babes, you gotta listen to the whole album. The entire album is A PRODUCTION!!! Also it's funny when certain people react to Rap or R&B and say "I don't know what this means" 😂😂
The song is more of an Allegory. "America Has A Problem" in this context is speaking on the drug problem from the 70s and 80s. The crack epidemic etc. Lyrically, she's saying that "You can't get no higher than this". "Your Ex Dealer dope, but they ain't crack enough". She's basically saying that being with her, is like the euphoric experience of drug use for addicts. America Has a Problem, and bby is ME, essentially lol. I hope that made sense😂
Everyone learns our lingo on their own pace. Renaissance was an insane album. You have to be standing up to hear it's definitely not a sitting down to listen album lol
Okay, I'm not an expert on this song so someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the song samples and references something to do with the drug epidemic of the 80s. So in this song, Beyonce, in a tongue-in-cheek way, is saying that she's the drug that her man (& America) is obsessed with. Most people probably did think this would be a very political song about American issues, given that the majority of her music from 2016-2021 was heavily political. My theory is that she deliberately named the song 'America Has A Problem' to maybe surprise her fans who'd been wanting her to kinda step away from that for a moment. I think that was the intention of her last album, to create fun music to allow everyone to escape from reality after the intensity of the last few years. I'm glad she had fun with the album. In terms of recommendations of songs of her just singing without too many bells and whistles, I'd recommend 'Plastic of the Sofa' and 'Virgo's Groove' from her last album. It is a dance album so those elements are still kinda present in those songs to a limit. For a live performance, you should watch her performance of 'Resentment'. It's exactly what you asked for.
The song samples a song called "(Cocaine) America Has a Problem" which is about the crack epidemic in the 80s. She flipped it to say she is the drug that America is obsessed with lol.
America has a problem is a clever way of talking about Americas drug problem. Hence why the single cover is a bunch of little pills in an American flag. But as she said live “America has a problem. It’s me, I’m the mf problem” but she equated herself to a drug basically. It’s just a fun song lol
Beyoncé has TONS of songs where she is SINGING! She’s an artist FIRST, so she isn’t going to just SING a song. You have to really dive into Beyoncé’s history and see that she does EVERY genre. Some music isn’t for everyone.
Kendrick's stuff is worth a try. He has been very vocal on issues in America for a while. His last album also touches on a long of personal and mental issues he has been struggling with.
@@oldladybangers the song makes more sense in the context of the whole album - her last album was very soul-bearing and intimate, so this album is all about letting go and having fun and feeling joy. I personally don't think Kendrick added anything to the song either.
So a lot of Beyoncés songs off of her album, renaissance, actually blend into each. You should try to listen to the whole album start to finish. What I got from America has a problem is that we the fans are america and we have an obsession(which is seen as a problem) with her, I could be very wrong but that was my takeaway from it.

Well most people just want to hear Beyoncé SING instead of this style of music. Plus a lot of people don’t see rap as music. I know I don’t.
I definitely see rap as music, it's just not the kind of music that I really like. And that's OK, not everything is made for me!
It's good for me to be reminded sometimes that you can live right next to someone and have a completely different life experience.
@@TerrellAmariif you dont see rap as music youre just close-minded and uncult
@@TerrellAmariwell most people should look elsewhere because Beyoncé is a diverse artist who does it all!
this is a remix. if you really want a good introduction to this album you have to hear Plastic off the sofa, virgos groove and summer renaissance.

Yeah, i can get behind the whole "no drug can get you higher than me" idea.

I like that "standing up to hear" making you pay attention. That's a great way of thinking about it!

Perfect comment! Plastic off the sofa /Virgo's groove are my fav! Reeeact! Up!
Makes sense!

And if you wanna hear her just sitting singing, watch her Renaissance tour opening songs. Just standing or sitting on a piano singing. You’ll love it.
love the succession reference!
I love this song, but I'm not sure this is the best intro to her Renaissance album haha (which is a masterpiece), especially not this remix
Yeah, I was confused.

this is a remix version you should def listen to the regular version and maybe listen to the whole Renaissance album it gives a better explanation
Yeah, I think out of context, it doesn't mean a lot.
@@oldladybangers yeah
@@oldladybangers its not as much as a statement/meaning like the lemonade album its still a amazing album tho

Also for plastic off the sofa, it means about taking the plastic off and just being yourself. Take off your shell and be yourself.
The original version is much better for me
Yeah, I might have to check that one out.
its almost the same just without Kendrick's part 😂
Also, to understand the meaning of the lyrics maybe go to Genius lyrics and it’ll tell you the meaning of the verses.
I suggest that you might consider listen to virgos groove or maybe even react to some clips from her renaissance world tour.
🔥❤️
Pls listen to the hole Renaissance album I really want to see what you think
Can you do Kylie minougue new video
she's an epidemic
