- The best locations to explore in Virginia if you are looking for something fun to do, see, or eat! Virginia is one of the most beautiful states we have seen thus far. If you haven't been, you have to experience it for yourself to fully appreciate it. Virginia truly is for lovers.
We explored George Washington's home, Mount Vernon. Thomas Jefferson's home, Monticello. We had tickets to go experience Colonial Williamsburg, the Jamestown Settlement, and Yorktown, but had something come up so we didn't make it there. I have been before and it is a really cool experience of early American History.
We made a stop by Joel Salatins farm, Polyface Farm in Swoope, VA. It is open to the public so you can come anytime and check out their, traditional, modern, organic farming. Joel is definitely the person to learn from if you want to learn more about farming.
And last but not least my friends, we drove up to Mountain Lake Lodge, but all my girlies know it as Kellerman's from the movie Dirty Dancing. The lodge, which you can stay at, is where they filmed most of the scenes from the movie. It is quite the experience to be there in person. Please don't miss it!

This is awesome. One of my favorite places is Colonial Williamsburg. I've never been to the others, but now they're on my list!
I went to Colonial Williamsburg a few years ago and loved it. Sad we had to miss it this time. But we had so much fun seeing the rest of Virginia.
