In life, so much of what we do is laid out before us. What time we start and finish work, the ways we spend our free time, the activities that our children participate in. Our friends, our neighbors, our entire society builds templates and roadmaps to make sense out of the infinite options that lay before us. As we travel on a sailboat with our baby and our dog, our life is full of excitement, it is constantly teaching us and fascinating us.
But none of the templates or roadmaps that have been passed down to us seem to work. The only structure to our lives is the structure that we create. So we replace daycare with ancient ruins, instead of playing fetch in the backyard, we hike up mountains, and our only schedule is made by the wind and the sea.
At times it feels like we are completely crazy, and honestly we probably are. When it comes down to it, we have no clue what we’re doing, we just know that we’re reaching towards something that is good, that is worth while. So we're making it up as we go, leaning into it and one footstep at a time keeping ourselves from falling.

I hate to sound like a "gamer dude" but in the Assassin's Creed game in Ancient Greece, The places of Paros, Naxos, Chora, Mt. Zas all figure prominently in that game. Even the door to the temple of Apollo was mentioned in it. It's great to see these amazing sights with your spirit of awe and discovery.

Guys, I love the philosophical comments in the start of the video.
The reason that what wisdom that has previously been offered to you, makes no sense and seems unrelatable
In your world now, can be answered in one word ‘youth’!
We all felt we knew best in our youth. I travelled hugely,
Took a different path than the traditional one.
Everything was wonderful, I felt like I was breaking the mould. Yes, this was the way.
But the time passed, I met a man, had a child. Felt we could still travel, but kids get older then you have more.
They become the focus. It’s impossible to keep living an
Alternative life, because kids need roots.
So enjoy the ride as long as it lasts, but alas it comes to
An end. Just remember you will never regret your travels.
Nor will you ever regret having your child.
    Safe life, dear people.☘☘

💕 I can say the best part of being a nomadic parent was watching our son be so unphased by our daily rocking about (RV boondocking so easier than sailing.) When they are still somewhat immobile is a golden time for sure. What is now a huge challenge for us is he is no longer a passive little buoy in our world but is walking, talking and demanding his way through our little 200 square foot "home." He's seen more of the United States in his first 16 months than I did in my first 30 years, but I can say we're docked up near family at the moment enjoying the thought of making this collective support system a permanent thing...
    Sending lots of aloha.

here is a thing that might get you scratching your head. When you have higher wind speeds - usually above F7-F8 ish) the behaviors of humans can change - if you look at animals with strong winds they get flighty and very nervous - humans are pretty much the same - I am not sure if there is a sympathetic frequency in there or whatever. but what I have noticed is that if you put a set of soft ear plugs in your ears it really tends to limit that internalize anxiety. (I used to operate a pretty full on sailing school and that was one of the observations that we found with the newer trainees or sailing newbies as you might call them.) So - if you get one of those blustery set of conditions - where you can sense the anxiety rising (you will recognise that feeling by now) try putting a set of ear plugs. I'd be interested to see if you find a difference - it made a big difference for a significant group of people in our world. ( public commentary on account a lot could get value from this)

I drifted away from watching Atticus videos awhile ago, but after being away for over a year or so I again started watching again and found completely different couple. Motherhood has transfomed Desiree into a woman whom motherhood made even more exceptional than before and Jordan has transformed himself into a far better version of himself. You'll be excellent parents and even better world cruisers with a channel that is a pleasure to follow. Greece now - where next? Turkiye? That is where my Dutch wife and I (an American) have lived for over a decade. We live on the coast near Dalyan if you're ever in the neighborhood.
