Yes a beautiful country with many problems. The residents are angry about the crime and overcrowding. Unfortunately as most families have 5 children the population is growing at an alarming rate, doubling in the past decade. I believe over half the population is under 20 years old.
The French baguettes are our weakness. Luckily we didn’t find a good bakery for croissants or we would have been there every morning. The cheese selection 👌

I’m not surprised Macron got a frosty welcome. The people of Mayotte have had enough. The population has doubled in the last decade (from illegal immigration, Comorians make up half the population) and most families having 5 children so half the population is under 10. The infrastructure is crumbling. There were water shortages when we were there, lord knows what it’s like since the cyclone.
WHY did you decide to go through the Mozambique Channel? It's got currents, winds, the lot. You could've gone around Madagascar. Not that your family ever shied away from a couple more days/weeks at sea. There is an AMAZING whale sanctuary in the North-East (hopefully they didn't sell it to China yet). You can't go near it on anything with an engine but you can see the newborn whalies trying to jump. It's almost as adorable as Ivan dancing.
I hope you guys are safe if still in Mayotte with the hurricane approaching (again). Have you seen Masai in Mayotte? The new owner arrived a few days after the last devastating typhoon...Happy new year and fair winds, especially for heading to Richard's bay...

Take the reigns and steer us towards the clear, here
It's already been sung, but it can't be said enough
All you need is love
Is this just another phase?
Of earthquakes making waves
Trying to shake the cancer off?
Oh, stupid human beings

Hold me and make it the truth
That when all is lost, there'll be you
'Cause to the universe, I don't mean a thing
And there's just one word I still believe
And it's love
It's an art to live with pain
Mix the light into grey
Lost nine friends we'll never know
Two years ago today
And if our lives became too long
Would it add to our regret?
And the young, they can lose hope
'Cause they can't see beyond today
The wisdom that the old can't give away, hey
Constant recoil
Sometimes life don't leave you alone
Hold me and make it the truth
That when all is lost, there will be you
'Cause to the universe, I don't mean a thing
And there's just one word that I still believe
And it's love, love, love, love, love
Love boat captain, take the reigns
