I had an Irish wolfhound named Whiskey. He was beautiful and loyal. He lived to the ripe old age of 14. My daughter could climb on his back when she was a toddler and he would cart her around the yard. Best dog ever

I have never seen most of these animals before. It was so awesome learning of them. I have learned something new today.
It's heartbreaking that so many species are endangered and going into extinction. I hate to think of all the amazing things that are going to be lost! Humans really are selfish on a whole but, for the few of us who do care; it is possible to turn things around and try to save what we can. Even if it is so future generations can learn the beauty of nature and how much the world benefits from natural diversity.
My grandfather had an Irish Wolfhound named Mercy, given to him by his employer as a pup. Damn she was one towering dog!
Sadly most of the animals in this video are going extinct because of human intervention. 😢 we take their habitat for our own and don't think about the consequences it has on the wildlife.

Actually the Irish wolfhound had been extinct when Augustus started RECREATING the breed, he used several other dogs to make the "right appearance"
We had a man with 2 Irish Wolfhounds strolling around my town for years. They are indeed frightenly big to not be an attractive dog breed for most areas where people live I suppose. If I had the space I'd gladly own a few however!!

My cousin once saw a soft-shelled turtle roaming at a very narrow canal in our subdivision and we live in a city. He tried to give it back to the owner but the owner said he/she intentionally set it free there. Poor turtle. That's years ago, I think elementary or highschool. From Philippines btw.
Golden Tigers are my favorite animals (i love tigers but specifically them (coat coloring)) its sad that they are almost extinct- i mean i know why, their coat is so beautiful plus other reasons- but its sad, sad all these animals are almost extinct-

Lol golden tiger isn't a seperat species it's just a colouration😂 we don't even need to specifically save them cause they will naturally appear once the normal bengal tiger numbers grows every 1 in 10000 bengals carry these genes and there is actually a natural born one the wild right now! Unlike these inbred ones in captivity
i know they arent a separate species- im not an idiot- when i said “its sad they are almost extinct” i was also referring to all tigers, which are endangered species- these coat colorings are beautiful, so yes, in the wild they would be poached along with their more common colored fellow tigers, never said they were separate species

Greenland sharks, clams of various kinds, etc., unless we're just talking about mammals, all live longer

22:56 Soft Shell Turtle is also called Leatherback. The Irwins from Australia conduct lots of Sea Rescue to an enclosed habitat, before the Crocodile Hunter got killed by a stingray. They still conduct Saltwater Rescues.
Only one title is called a leatherback and it's the biggest turtle in the world

I think you're confusing that with the Leatherback Sea Turtle. This is why we should all call their land cousins Tortoises. Tortoises have toes. Turtles have flippers.
I caught a grey soft shelled turtle in the late 70’s in Brownsville, Tx. There were many in the lake. It’s shell was only a couple of inches long. Had the long neck and snout like in the video. Solid grey, not speckled.

I noticed how Irish Wolfhounds have missed some dog shows in the US more than they used to.
The cute dandy terrier reminds me of yorkies. Sweet and sassy. I'd like to know more about them.

Be amazed here's another suggestion for the food lottery! Once when I was young I was opening up Oreo icream packets (my fav ice cream till this day) and then when I open one up the WHOLE surface was covered with the Oreo crumbles And it was the last one! That happened when I was 7 and it has been 10 years so yeah plus I forgot to photo it
There was the tequila fish that was thought to be extinct but Chester zoo had some and gave them to a Mexican university (I think) and a few years later they released like 160 back into their natural habit
We need to perserve these species

Hopefully the kakapo becomes super abundant once again, they would make perfect companions just look at how friendly they are keep them protected even when they are abundant but then you could breed some in captivity to have as pets they can’t fly either so they would be tough to become invasive

There were actually a pair of Irish Wolfhounds in my lil town. The owner said they were pretty rare and super expensive. I think he only has 1 left now, the other one had died :( But they're super big! O_O Whenever I saw the owner walk them I was like how in the world can you hold them lol. ps: Soooo the penguin isn't the only bird species in the world that can't fly! pps: 18:48 Ohhwww what a flippin adorable lil thing!
I co own a reptile shelter, we have over 17 of em from being seized from trade, they aren't easy to take care of, I'll tell Ya that. they will also rip your fingers off without a second thought.

Otter hunting was stopped in 1978, and the reason is that 1st stopped is because the hunters noticed a decline in the number of otters, and it was not to do with the hunting of them in England.
So instead of hunting otters, they hunted the American Mink, which, of course, are not native to the UK and cause a lot of wildlife damage, and they still do too this day.

The original Irish Wolfhound did go extinct, the dog that Augustus Graham bred is not the original. It much bigger than the original Irish Wolfhound was. So Augustus Graham didn't save it from extinction, he just bred a dog type with characteristics of it, called it an Irish Wolfhound. A little more research wouldn't have been that hard. In fact there's a few videos on this platform that have already done it themselves. So you could have gotten it from them. Just saying it's not that hard to do nowadays.

The mentions of dog remind me of my little Swedish Vallhund. His breed also almost went extinct around the 1920’s or so, but was rescued….. sadly even now the breed is really rare, even in their own native country.

Golden Tigers always fascinated me and so did the Sabertooth Tigers. I just love to learn in general and when I was younger, I've always watched "Animal Planet" and the best narrator of all time in the animal kingdom, David Attenboro. He is so good and I recommend him for all ages.

They are literally at zero risk as long as the bengal tiger population is at rise
Also all the ones in captivity are impure they are inbred for that colour! There is only one natural born and living in the wild in the entire world

I loved all the cats the most! My favorite is the golden tiger. So beautiful! They look like feline royalty. Also just wanted to say that my patronus in the world of Harry Potter is the Irish wolfhound. I really enjoy learning more about them even though I’m a cat person!
9:47 I know those! I have seen them once and I tried bacon made from them. Treir meet is really low-fat so a lot healthier than normal pigs meat but it's kinda hard to chew trough.
