City of Hollywood Moves to Purchase 45 Acres of Open Green Space

The largest land acquisition in more than 30 years for the City of Hollywood has taken place. On Wednesday, October 21, 2020, Mayor Levy signed the closing documents to purchase 45 acre of open green space, formally known as the Sunset Golf Course. The $12 million purchase of the property, located between Johnson Street and Arthur Street along I-95 in Hollywood, Florida, was made possible through funding from the voter-approved General Obligation Bond. This historic purchase for Hollywood residents adds a significant parcel of open green space for all to enjoy for many generations to come.
