    Jordyn understood she made mistakes but never gave up and fought hard after bars. What I'm so impressed about is her respect for the sport and other competitors. When Komova finished her floor routine, Jordyn was the first to tell her "good job" probably believing she (Jordyn) was getting the silver. Congratulations on winning this title, Jordyn!

      I love Gabby but I really wished it would've been Aly and Jordyn. Aly was always my favorite and Jordyn was always my best friend's, so we were upset when Jordyn didn't get her chance along with Aly.

      +GrangerDangerx You sound ridiculously selfish....Gabby won her AA gold fair and square....It is not Gabby's fault Jordyn couldn't hit when it mattered.....So there is no reason to feel sorry for her.

      Hazel Amarie there shouldn’t be a 2 per country rule. it’s such bs. it kept jordyn out of aa’s when she probably would have medaled AND qualified 4th. same w gabby, and she qualified THIRD!!!! it’s ridiculous that the 3rd and 4th qualifier can’t get into aa’s because they come from a dominant country.

    Seeing Jordyn Weiber cry was very heartfelt! She always has a focus, and determined look on her face, which is important in this sport. Mental is almost just as important, But you forget that these girls are just young girls! She's 16 years old and has a presence like a 30 year old. Just seeing her show the emotion that has be brewing and is so beautiful! Hard work and natural talent is paying off! :)

    And i wish Komova all the best! It's truly a testament to how good you are if you can have 3 scores in the 14's and lose the gold medal by only .033!! That's actually pretty impressive.

    holy crap, that beam routine was so impressive!!! why would they upgrade that?!? if anything, they should've rearranged her bars so it could've been more consistent, they just ended up making her beam inconsistent. Anyway, what an amazing performance on beam here!!

    But guys you have to realize that getting second can be dissapointing i mean they have worked so hard thier entire career and to not be at the top of the podium can be very sad. She isn't a sore loser she just felt dissapointed that she didnt get what she hoped for, but she may not have appreciated the place or the medal at the time being but trust me later in life she will look back and think how great that was to be the 2nd best gymnast in the WORLD and will appreciate it greatly! Luv u vika!

    • @wiscovirgo
      @wiscovirgo 6 років тому +6

      Yvette Ellis jordyn said that the cry was mostly out of pure shock because she knew she made a few mistakes so she said she was actually sure she was gonna get silver that she was mentally preparing herself to accept that so when she saw she won gold, she of course was happy and grateful but she always said it was mostly shock, because she was initially certain that she was gonna take silver.

  • @iviolin10

    I admire Mckayla's attitude a lot.. She set a high expectation for herself, worked her butt off to achieve it, and didn't at the last moment. Her reaction is of course natural and she is constantly thinking on what she did wrong and needs to improve. Self-contemplation is the key to become champions and Mckayla clearly never showed an attitude of a sore loser..
    I also truly admire Jordyn winner for the grace and dignity she showed even when facing disappointment of the highest level. However

    Jordyn always seemed to remind of shawn johnson not from looks but the fact that they were so powerful. Both didnt win gold in the olympic all around (jordyn even compete because of the 2 per country rule) both world champions in team and all around year before their olympics. They are the only two that i have seen do a standing backflip with a full twist. Both great gymnasts hope jordyn has it as great as shawn when she retires.

      Russian gymnasts have a habit of being cocky. This is why the americans sneak up on them because they assume nothing.

    • @chuuu4610
      @chuuu4610 5 років тому +10

      Well she did excellent on bars, decently well in vault and beam, and okay in floor. No major mistakes plus she had the confidence from qualifying first place when neither of them had huge errors.
      It’s not that arrogant of her in this specific case to assume that she had it considering Jordyn had a big mistake and she had a pretty clean day.
      I’m not sure it’s exactly fair to generalize Russian people are a whole.

      Umm lol no.
      1) She qualified 1st.
      2) She's better (or at least at the same level) on beam as well.
      3) She was only LESS than 0.05 short to win the gold medal.
      She knew she's capable of winning the gold that's why she's sad when she didn't win.

    • @DeepSeas..
      @DeepSeas.. 4 роки тому

      @@MultiChantal22 Oops, just saw this. I'm talking about how she and everyone else thought she'd won after her floor routine. It didn't have the highest difficulty and was filled with errors (most notably the fall out of the Memmel turn and the very low landing on her double pike). She should've won, but her performances on that day were lackluster compared to what she's capable of.

    At 24, Jordyn is the youngest head coach in women's collegiate gymnastics. What she learned at UCLA she has already instituted at the University of Arkansas home meets, as in student and spectator participation. Once a ghost town, now Barnhill arena is actually full of Arkansas Razorback fans for gymnastics.

    In 1980, President Carter was upset about troops in afghanistan. He told if the Soviets didnt remove them, he wouldnt send any athlete to the olympics games in Moscow. like wise, 65 nations participated in the boycott. in gymnastics, Canada, China, Japan, South Korea, and West Germany didnt send any gymnast. Likewise in 1984, the Soveit Union, along with Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, North Korea, Cuba, Hungary did not send a gymnast to the 1984 olympics in Los Angeles.

  • @fishdude77
    @fishdude77 12 років тому +20

    what really drives me bonkers is the way that komova acted after she found out. like at first she was upset and thats fine, but after that she should be a good sport and be happy she won an all around world medal but she stands on that medal podium like shes doing everyone a favor. russians in general i find are not good sports, they think they are entitled to first place.

    • @katiex3715

      fishdude77 yes but think about it, she had all her hopes up that she was going to win the gold medal, but then to find out she won second. You may not know about her situations at home. Her coach may be disappointed too because of all that hard work. Just stop assuming things.

    • @kristinp7021

      I agree, she was being a poor sport and did the same thing when winning silver in London. But the Russians were so accustomed to being dominant until the 2000 games and after, where other countries like Romania, China, and USA were getting most of the medals.
