Wow, after all this time, I had no idea Sunset Beach had a completely different theme song originally. I grew up with the second theme song which I love. Very interesting.
The first intro was later the closing theme... although the viewership was slightly better in the UK it did not fare well in the US. There has been a longstanding policy for affiliates of all three major commercial television networks to air news programs at noon since the 1980s. As a result the soap was fed to NBC affiliates at either noon eastern or 3:00 pm eastern, the latter being a more stable timeslot since it was around the time teenagers would come home from school.
I always thought it was pretty cool that Vanessa and Michael were two of the most famous alumna from this show. Cole #2 pretty much was starting on the Third Watch the same time as Sunset which is why he left and came back for the finale but I kind of knew he was going to be famous for something....got my answer.
Its funny how back in the days new soap operas were still being made...how things change in 20 years! It was exciting to be engrossed in all the new storylines and characters...
They updated the titles (adding tess/benji etc)I think maybe in the last year and she had left by that point or was only in a few episodes so she wasn’t in them.
These intros were the 1999 ones that were split into two separate openings when Tess, Benjy, Carmen, and Jude were added. Dominique Jennings appeared in the mid-97-early 99 version that is missing here.
Damian Latimer - Dominique Jennings did appear in the second intro, which debuted sometime in July of 1997. The first intro that was shown with the actors’ names on the tiles aired from the time show began airing on Monday, January 6, 1997 until July 1997. Unfortunately, Dominique didn’t appear in the first intro, and I hated that the first intro was scrapped.
Salut Anthony ; savais tu que la 2e version telle que tu la proposes là, n'a jamais été diffusée nulle part dans le monde sur aucune chaine de TV ? En fait elle n'a jamais existé telle quelle officiellement
@@anthonyhiggins7409 I promise it is just impossible, because I created it myself in 1999 ; I took the 2 parts when this new 2-parts opening was aired on NBC and used Adobe Premiere to paste the 2 parts together with a fading in the middle, I made the same with the music, and I adapted the duration of the video to the duration of the music. Honestly I hoped that international channels would air it that way, it would have been better than those 2 longer slowed down sequences ! Unfortunately they didn't. Please remember this : Channel-5, as the other international channels, aired the opening with a different duration than NBC (and different music instruments) : longer, 1'06 instead of 0'35, until the last one-part opening. When the 2-parts opening was released, they aired it as 2 different parts in turn, this time with a duration of 1'15 ! and still this music different of the original one... At the end I couldn't bare it anymore !
Sunset Beach was such a good show.
The opening song was the best for me ❤️
Hard same. Sophisticated visuals and music.
I adore Sherrie Saum and I love seeing her do that walk at the end.

The first theme opening was FAR SUPERIOR in my eyes.
The best!

Alan S I agree
The First Theme is like The Young & The Restless but the Second sounds more like BEverly Hills & Pacific Blue.
I like the first theme better.
Bonsoir j’aime ce générique depuis longtemps. Prenez soin de vous. Bonne soirée. À bientôt. Claire Luce (66)
Love it. Rommania ❤❤❤

I liked the first version of the intro and music
Many of the actors from here went on to join B&B.
Leslie Anne Down, Adrienne Frantz, Sarah Buxton. Who else ?
@@geneRICs9 Sean Kanan, Dax Griffin, and Jack Wagner if his guest appearance on SB counts.
From mind of Aaron Spelling, one his best shows
After the public television.

She wasn't in the show anymore when the 2-parts opening was released
I remember when it came on in it's regular time slot and then late at night on NBC here in Ohio

No. Pretty certain it did. I remember the 2nd version being on channel 5 in the UK.
