    It's crazy to see how much you improved in only 31 days...
    I'm currently building it up towards 5 minutes (I've half way to go, cause I'm currently 2'35). I can already see improvements in my hip mobility and agility in general, definitely a great tool to implement in a practice !
    Great job, keep moving !

    • @TheTaoWay
      @TheTaoWay  4 роки тому +5

      Keep going, with good consistency you will get to that 5 minute mark.

    • @N_L12
      @N_L12 4 роки тому

      In fact, after having posted it, I remember he obtained the 5 min 1-2 years ago...
      But also, I'm currently at 3'25... So I improved by 1 minute in less than 2 weeks.
      Is there a gap / plateau since you get to a certain duration ?

    • @N_L12

      @@arindamadhikary1844 Nice xD I only intend to reach 5 min ^^ and maintain it, i use it as a sort of meditation, besides all the benefits it provides 😅. But it's fine, I'll tell you when I reach 5 minutes !
      And Back in the day, I was doing sets of hundreds bodyweight squats, after a basketball training session to create endurance in my legs ! But my knees didn't like those !

    • @N_L12
      @N_L12 4 роки тому

      @@arindamadhikary1844 thanks you for this advice ! But don't worry, I managed to bulletproof my knees since then.
      I'm currently practicing the horse stance 6 times per week, each morning, and I manage to increase by 5 seconds each day, in order for my body to adapt better in the long run rather than increasing too much the holding volume.

    • @N_L12
      @N_L12 4 роки тому

      @@arindamadhikary1844 Well... The first thing has been Squatting down.
      Then, I started Locomotion work (at a very low level though), which, combined with different bodyweight squat variations, and later weighted leg strength training, gave me nive knees. And then I started to horse stance, parkour, and everything skyrocketted. But nothing with excess of course, I'm still weak to do certain things I guess.
      But the most important thing has been to have a varied movement practice: not necessarily with a process which focus specifically on it, but I guess, even though it wasn't the goal, it came naturally.

    Was 15 seconds away from 5 mins. Going up in ten second increments. Then had a big fall. Broke my back shattered my talas and dislocated my shoulder 9 months later I’m back to 4.45 seconds ready to go to five mins. 15 seconds added every week works for me. I’m sixty one. I love this exercise. So painful so good for the mind and body. Awesome job. Incredible in such a short time. Respect 😮

    Inspiring dude! Horse stance is a main stay in my practice. For the last four months I have been approaching it with a VOLUME mentality. So for month number one, I accumulated 5 minutes of horse stance throughout the day. Second month I accumulated 7.5 minutes throughout the day. Third month I accumulated 10 minutes throughout the day. Im in the middle of my forth month, 12.5 minutes every day. My goal is to build up to an accumulation of 30 minutes a day.
    However when I practice my sets are always 30-90 seconds. I am amazed you increased 10 seconds every day for a month. That is beastly dude.

      What are the benefits of a horce stance?

    • @pielova305
      @pielova305 Рік тому

      @@dekik.979 The benefits are insane, especially once you start getting to higher times. A lot of eastern practices in general focus on cultivating your internal energy
      and energy originates from your Lower Dantian according to chinese medicine, or in yogic traditions that's where kundalini energy originates from, from your lowest. root chakra.
      Needless to say, those practices are known to increase a persons lifespan and health span since they focus on cultivating the energy within your body
      And Horse stance is a brute force way to activate and engage with that energy, especially if you want to take it a step further and incorporate movements or variations in positions for your hand. The only way for you to reach longer times, youll have to reach a high/adept level in breathing which can only be obtained through practice, which is why breathing practices are so common in those traditions. Horse Stance combined with a healthy diet (lots of plants, not overeating and/or fasting) will make your energy on a day to day basis skyrocket and life will be less painful. You'll find yourself having more energy throughout your day to do the things you want or need to do in your life.
      Definitely take advantage of the fact that you know of this powerful technique that only takes a few minutes out of your day!
      Or like an hour if you just want to like experience that level of energy in your life. One of those things you have to just experience to truly understand.

      The trick to building up the horse stance is not just training it once a day, train it at half or 3/4 of your max three or four times a day then go for max once or twice a week. So you would do 1 min for breakfast, lunch, and dinner then on Wednesday and Saturday do max of 90 seconds for 3 weeks. Then you start adding max in daily.

    So what else are you doing I wonder? Anything for recovery? Any other forms of exercise? Do you bike to work? Gym? Yoga? Stretching?

    I could probably push it to 90 seconds if i wanted to, but i dont want to risk injury.

      This was done years ago so my ability to remember accurately will be affected but what I do remember is that my posterior chain did not fatigue much. It was more the anterior aspect of the legs. After about day 10 - 15 I stopped getting sore/fatigued and it was a much bigger mental battle. The body adapted at a certain point and the legs felt recovered each day even with my normal practice on top of this challenge.

    Do you still train the horse stance every day? How long do you do it for now?

    • @TheTaoWay
      @TheTaoWay  Рік тому +2

      No, the horse stance is a good tool but not to be seen as 'THE' exercise as there is not any 'ONE' exercise. People tend to either get attached to one thing forever or people change from one new thing to the other in the pursuit of novelty and never getting bored. Neither of these will bring you to a higher practice. Things should be worked intently for a period of time but not held onto forever as 1. It is impossible to do so and 2. it will end up holding you back.

    for example in the day which you failed to fullfill your goal ,what will you do.....i.e you tergated 150 sec but you stopped at 145 sec ...then you repeat it again or stand for 30 sec extra for that

      As I said in this video, I do not recommend this method to increase your horse stance. This was just a challenge. There are far better ways that I have given in other videos on this topic. We want to be working at an intensity that is consistent. If you are failing often at a certain time then it hints that the time is too high for you.

    Hello I really like your video My questions
    1.would this method be better than squats (maybe a replacement) ?
    2. How many times a day should I do this? 😊

      Hello, please watch my video on the horse stance here: ua-cam.com/video/PAFsSwVx864/v-deo.html
      This video was just a 30 day challenge. It is not sustainable long term nor is it advisable for those that have not worked the horse stance intensely previously. In the above video, I give recommendations for starting and a goal to reach for.

    whats your pre horse stance stretching/warmup?

    • @rohanofelvenpower5566
      @rohanofelvenpower5566 Рік тому

      Just back supporting exercises like bridge. You want to be fresh for hirse stance. Also its a stance, no need muscles pulled, no need for stretching/warmup.
      Maybe warm uo your'willpower' before it, you will need it 😂
      You can do bridge before and after. Like 1 minute or whatever you can hold.

    Be careful you have a swift hip( too much on your left). U should work on it to avoid imbalances and later injuries. You could look at squat university's videos.
    Hope it helps

      蹲馬步 Dūn mǎ bù 。 It simply means, " to do the horse stance" or "to squat down into the horse stance position"

  • @ИвайлоСтефанов-в9г

    What kind of horse stance is that. I am asking, because the type I am doing is different. The inner part of the of both feet part is parallel, while in the stance from that clip the feet make approximately 70-80 degrees angle.

      Every discipline and school will teach this slightly differently. I learned from the Wudang style while I was in China. Shaolin will be different, as will karate, as will taekwondo, etc.
