I'm not an acrobat or gymnast but I am a martial artist. I thought I might learn some new methods to improve mobility watching this video. I'm not disappointed or complaining that I didn't actually learn much of anything new but instead I'm pleased to see confirmation that I've been on the right track as I've already implemented most everything you've recommended here that can be done at home which is where I do the majority of my training. You're recommendations are all on point, for me I never focus on strength/weight training, I focus on speed, agility & mobility. Powerful strikes are not generated by big strong muscles they are generated by the kinetic chain. What it all boils down to IMHO is this: What good is power if you aren't fast enough to be the one to connect first? Focus on developing speed, balance & proper form and power will come as a biproduct of this, you never need to "muscle" a strike and doing so will only hold back your potential. For years now I have only used bodyweight, kettlebell & lighter weighted dumbbell exercises where I focus on moving through the entire range of motion possible to develop power in positions you normally wouldn't if you were focused on heavier weights in a strict range of motion and would also damage your joints if the weight was too heavy (basically just taking some fixed weight dumbbells and swinging them around like a madman, twisting my wrists, extending to different lengths etc. increase weight as you are able but only to a point). I'm 46 years old and hitting harder and faster than I ever have since implementing a lot of these strategies over the years. Good video, great recommendations I can attest to that! Gymnasts & acrobats in general are the most functionally strong people on the planet, there's a reason for that!
It's just physical and mental training. Power = work / time.
Lee's material is really convincing....
Could you go into detail of some of the workouts you do (body weight specifically) to add speed and power to your body ? Much appreciated
i was a martial artist and am a coach now! you said it better than i would! and mr Weiland decompose it and made it accessible to both beginners and confirmed athletes!
Thanks
calisthenics athletes are the strongest imo
The shoulder dowl stretches are really nice. My 81 year old aikido sensi introduced me. Fantastic for upper body mobility. We used full staffs though, a nice long closet rod is pretty perfect.
I learned these when i began karate 10 years ago. They are really helpful and makes me feel alive. Thank you for sending me back down memory lane bro.😊
Thank you very much, Coach Lee 🙂👍
Thank u YT analytics found this channel for me perfect as I get older and still wanted to compete with the youth! 🙌🏽👏🏽
You move like a human tiger! May you continue to be prosperous and healthy.
This is just what I need and been looking for. Excellent content.
Love the change of pace in this video, thank you
Yes, that's what I came here to say! I enjoyed the conversational, interview style approach, it was good.
Totally agree!
Especially move nr 5, Hanging, is a very underrated one!!
One of your best video so far, love the fact that you demonstrate all the exercises 👍🏻
Don't mistake it for instruction.
Just found this video and I'm inspired!! I do monthly challenges in my gym and I'm adding your five stretches to my daily mobility routine to increase strength and work up to some of those amazing tricks you were doing!
Thank you Lee. My knees have gotten stronger and no more inflammation. ❤❤❤❤❤
What helped your knees the most you’d say?
This is awesome! Pumped! Thank you for inspiring me
Thanks so much, I do feel inspired. I'm 70 years old and have been so stiff for decades. I don't want to join the wheelchair, cane parade. I will try to do basic squats and simple MOVE. Thanks so much.
Incredible channel
That was so genuine and kind of you to share your great knowledge about the art of acrobatics. Thank you, I sincerely appreciate.
Thanks for being here
Thank you Mr Lee! I promise when i am able to i will defined become your student i am hoping to be one!
Best vid so far 👍
Awesome thanks!!
Excellent, very useful!
I like this editing better than other videos of yours that look like late night TV infomercials despite having useful high quality information.
Drats. TV commercials with low quality is what we were going for.
@@LeeWeiland😅❤
i like how when you show the workout/stretch, you go to some video footage nice touch to your videos 🙏

I really appreciate this video. I've started doing this every day and can tell a noticeable difference.
Cool but don't mistake these videos for instruction
I noticed when I did squat variations,I decided to go into the frog and I felt way more balanced, thanks for the knowledge,,I am gonna start using all this for my warmups like you said.
Don't mistake this for instruction
Some of your best content yet. I usually have to fast forward to the instructional parts. This was all 🔥
There's no instruction in any of my videos. You are making all the worst mistakes.
@@LeeWeilandhey hello mr. Lee. Ok I understand what you mean, but where do we get those correct instructions then. Do you provide online, so I can train in the comfort of my home, or can I find a class here in Belgium too ? And how this is called this type of sports ? Is it okay for a 56 years old lady too or just a joke ? I am in good shape, I mean lean, not very flexible, and a bit of a health freak 😊
But strenght and flexability is what I would like to build up in a responsible way. I thought about yoga, but there are such many types of yoga disciplines, but not so much good classes here, and I do not want to waist my time. Could you suggest ?
Anyway thank you for the videos, they are encouraging and that's a start 😉🤗
Comfort of your home? Get out of your comfort zone. All your questions are answered in the videos people fast forward through.
Love your work. Thanks!
Thanks for being here
This is the kind of video I've been hoping you would do; thanks man!

Thanks for being here
Really enjoyed this style of your videos!! To the point and performance examples during!! 😎🙏🏻💪🏻💯
Don't mistake it for actual instruction
@@LeeWeiland What do you mean? You give literal instruction on these exercises in the video. Am I missing something?
No I do not. I share what WE do. If you want literal instruction then get a literal instructor...not videos.
Outstanding video and great shape. My hat is off to you Sir.
Thanks for being here
Id love to go to his gym with this guy teaching.
So empowering , healing , motivating…. Beautiful mission and content Lee ! Thanks for all !
I am fortunate to be able to equip about a 2500 square foot functional space , where can I get a list of the flooring / boxes / bars , best functional devices to perform your functional activities?
These seem like a good thing to do !
Interesting information
Great video, makes a lot of sense, going to give it a try, see how far I can progress👍
Cool...just don't mistake videos for instruction
Beast mode. I love this shit.
I will be using this to see if this improves my mobility in basketball and in life....... much appreciated 👍
Don't mistake videos for instruction
Awesome video, really enjoyed how you were demoing and explaining. Going to look to incorporate these daily rather than occasionally as I have been, seems like that frequency might be what I need.
Don't mistake videos for instruction

First time watching and immediately left a sub! Your energy is amazing and it motivates me to get these exercises in every day from now on - and hopefully see some progress in the next 6-12 months 🤙

@@LeeWeilandwhat sort of coaching should I be looking at to improve in these areas? My strength is good but man I am tight. Adult gymnastics? Circus coaches? What’s the skill set of the teacher?
we hire doctorate physical therapists and train them in our methods that i've crafted over the past 30 years...nothing else is remotely close, just saying
My favorite!!!
Awesome!!!

Windmills? (Flares) amazing! 🔥
I go in for knee surgery on the 16th to have my ACL rebuilt. They say with confidence that I'll have 100% use of it by this time next year, I look forward to incorporating all of this as I heal and restart my martial arts and bodybuilding journey
Good luck to you!
@@ezekielhadad1407 Thanks, I think I'll need it
@lootom2673 I made sure the Dr knew my intentions, and he's got 33yrs of experience.
@lootom2673when i tore mine it was all about range of motion. The hardest thing is sitting on the floor and getting your leg all the way straight. The Navy was considered aggressive at the time we were doing physical therapy the day after surgery with heel slides. Now it's way more aggressive, we've seen NFL players back on the field in 6 months! 😮 they told me no running for 6 months.
Attack your PT and stretch on your own. No explosive movements. Get your range of motion back and you'll be fine. The stronger your leg muscles are before you get surgery, the better you'll come out of it
I’m on it.
You givevus gold Nuggets for free. God give You health and Power for the next 40 years.
Thank you
🥷💪
I just did my first bridge ever, age 55, six months after shoulder surgery, after watching to 7:50!
WOW, congrats!!!!

Thank yo😘😘u lee, NOw I can leap tall buildings in a single bound, and not burn dinner while i do it!!!!!1
thank you. really want to work on my wrist and hands. I do bridges from PT and squats. need hip strength
Thx
🔥🔥🔥
Would be interesting to see how those who are less able can do these moves.
My shoulders can’t do that! Wild!
Thanks for this excellent video! I was wondering how to recovery from a tendon or muscle injury cause by doing the strentching / big split? Any tip on that? Thank you in advance
Your body will heal by itself if you let it
Hello Lee. I really enjoy watching your videos and would love to be able to even have a fraction of the strength and mobility of the people I see you working with. I’m just not sure that I am able to do much of any of even the basics you recommend, due to past injuries and limitations. I have bad shoulders from years of construction work. (Small tears of the labrum and a grade 2 collar bone separation) I also have had a major L5,S1 disc failure, which led to a fusion and S.I. joint damage. I do engage in light strength training, some stretching and keep active with mountain biking and my job, in which I put on a mile or so daily. Even with all that, it seems I will be limited in abilities and having to do pain management for the rest of my days
Have you worked with many people with these types of injuries
If you look at their website, there is a gentleman (Matt) in his late forties that had a broken back and multiple other back injuries that has been through their program, so I'm guessing that they do! I have no experience with them, to add, I was just looking into it!
Yep
Comment continued - …I know the body is an amazing machine and capable of healing beyond what modern medicine says is possible. I’ve fired doctors and sought out alternative medicine which has gotten me this far. If I had listened to conventional wisdom, I would be on permanent disability and heavy duty pain meds right now. While I have come a long way, it seems I have reached my rehab limits and am still doing some daily pain management and chiropractic for continuing issues. The doctors I have kept working with have warned me against putting any more strain on my back hips, shoulders. And if I hadn’t mentioned it, I am 53.
Is there any hope of me being able to do some of these activities and moving beyond my current state?
Yes
Very inspiring Lee cheers from France you’re great
Thanks for being here
i get the daily part, but were sets/reps covered?
Where near to London can I find a coach like yourself? Desperately need to become more flexible across my whole body 🙏🏼
Online
Hey Lee, like it bro but I have my doubts regarding the possibilities of me being able to complete a number of these. I’m 56, train a fair bit but don’t stretch ever and am paying the price. Is it to late to gain flexibility? I would love to be able to complete some of these strength moves.
Not too late
wow, I've been doing these instinctively already. I must be some sort of unrevealed prodigy or smth!
🥷💪
I can do the bridge easily. I’m 49. I didn’t know what the progression was or to do it every day.
This is really a different look at fitness. Somewhat interesting. What puzzles me is how he just casually acts as though someone should easily be able to jump right into this. Where is this being done?
I cannot believe all the aches and pains that have left my body as I approach 60.
Great
@LeeWeiland Is the dowel stretch ok to do when you've had rotator cuff surgery on both shoulders?
Get a coach
Lee, where's your gym? I'm leaving the Caribbean and coming to train with you.
I think he's in Alaska
Somewhere out here
❤🙏
i do that full squat every day drywall finishing, I don't kneel...kneeling ruined my knee which now bumps/snaps when ever i come up from a deep squat.... joint is very loose which isnt a problem except if i sit on that lower leg then fibia and partially dislocate which is uncomfortable lol
Do what works
I've recently had a CT scan and it revealed that I have mild degenerative spondylosis; I lift weights, and am not very mobile. Would learning to bridge be a good or a bad idea for my back?
Depends. Msg our team.
Flexibility Running jumping lifting swimming and combat 💪
Yep
These 5 seem really basic and achievable, thanks for the list. (Edit: typo)
Don't mistake this for instruction
How do I spend a week at your gym?
How much does it cost to get your training videos to get to your level?
Private 1:1 coaching with my team only. No training videos.
How do broken collar bones affect dowl stretch?
Could one use resistance bands in place of dowels? Or alternatively mixing the dowels and bands?
Whatever you want
Two years ago I was doing about 35 pull ups per set. Then I heard about doing hangs but after a month of doing hangs I started getting really bad elbow pain to the point where I couldn't do any pull ups for months. It ultimately took about a year before I was able to start training pull ups again. There must be something I was doing wrong but just grabbing on and handing causes me a lot of pain.
So many other factors...or it exposed a weak link...eithet way that's why we always say get objective eyes
I just did a bridge against the wall is that acceptable?
How many reps and sets Sir?
