have heard it too and the subwoofer is tuned so good, no bass in song no bass but when the bass hits hard you can hear and feel it but its not overpowering, its so perfectly balanced
I’m excited to checkout living with this system, I have been very much to Sony and Vibe aftermarket products for in car audio in all my cars until my last one. I have a Vauxhall Insignia with a Bose install and love it. I do although miss the bass lines I used to get from my twin 12” Vibe Space subs but grateful to get storage space back in the boot. But will definitely see if the Sonos system is any good. I’d like to know if there is a way to make the lower notes better.
I've had HK systems in previous cars but had to plump for the Audi sound system (180 w) in my current car. When paired with a decent source (Sony 5 ii or 1 ii) then it is more than adequate and sounds great. I always thought I mis managed the many settings on the HK systems (I always did a "smile" when setting the EQ up) and thought 500 w plus well more than needed. So will be interested in my next Audi which comes with Sonos system (note - takes 20 hrs plus to run the sound systems in! Just checking but had the speakers used in this demo been "run in" - makes a massive difference. When new, they will sound tinny and bass is compromised)
the Sonos system is a disappointment and no where close to HK systems. However all is not lost - use a quality sound source and the Sonos system audio improves significantly. Those with iPhone will be disappointed with the system. Those few who enjoy audio enough to use a Sony Xperia phone esp the 1 IV will get the most out of the system. Going up from the Sony Xperia 5 II to 1 IV resulted in a quantum leap in sound quality of the system and now I am content with the audio quality (finally!)
Sweet 👍. No one touches on the audio in new cars. Seems a dead topic. Pity that the internals doesn't really meet requirement. For the cost an 8 inch subwoofer wouldn't go amiss.
The Sonos system would sound better than the stock Enyaq to be honest, but neither are that impressive, namely the Audi for the price. Hopefully that helps?
Maybe with upcoming OTA there is room for a alot of improving, especially as the foundations are there for configuration. Sonos/Audi needs to come correct!
The SONOS system here didn't quite impress me over the basic Audi system in my previous car. Maybe slightly more clarity in the mid-high ranges. Mostly subjective and dependent on the music type. But for most potential buyers, don't waste your budget upgrading the system on the basis of this review.
the only reason those speakers wont play a full range is because of mounting locations, it may sound better than before with new drivers and what not, but you cant argue with physics
sounds like shite compared to the B&O kitted in my 2017 S5. Also, I'm assuming there's no CD availability in the Q4 e-tron but is there Sirius/satellite available? Surely either would sound superior to the compressed garbage coming out of Apple Music or Spotify?
I have tested q4 e-tron sonos during my 55 e-tron service. I think it sounds really bad - sorry q4. I regret not having bang olufsen in my 55 e-tron but my stock system is much better than sonos q4. at least in my opinion.
Thanks! We have now Xc60 R-design my19 with Harman/Kardon and we are thinking about Q4. Well, maybe we'll get used to worse sound :-D Fortunately we don't have Bowers & Wilkins now otherwise we wouldn't even think about Sonos big downgrade :-D looking forward for our test drive with Q4.
The price for the Sonos Audi system is way under what you pay for the Arc, sub(s), and Sonos fives. I would think Sonos/Audi would aim for that level of sound quality for a vehicle in that price range.

Finally someone who did a review to the Sonos Sound System, and it's a professional review as well! Great job, thanks!
Pleasure, glad you liked the video!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
We had a Q3 with B&O system but just changed to a new car with Sonos. The sub was too much with the B&O. Sonos is way better controlled
@@chinatype you can hear and feel the sub, but it isnt overwhelming. Yu get a sense that it is present.
Interesting that you found the recessed Sonos system less bassy! Couldn't you EQ the B&O?
@@TotallyEV i just left the system as it was tuned, no tuning with highs and lows. Still sounded rich and full. Sub isnt overpowering at all.

Maybe a subwoofer add-on/upgrade.
Let us know how you get on!
As for your question, you'd need to go to an audio aftermarket specialist.
hello, could someone tell me why audi is switching from b&o to sonos? I didn't find anything on the internet about it.
Probably due to monetary incentives?
I was told by car dealer that Sonos sound is "more" compatible with apps such as Apple Car play and Android than B&O for cars sold in America.
That's absolute nonsense! What's the sound system got to do with compatibility of those two mobile operating systems?!
Audi will use Sonos in low end cars Q4, Q3, Q2, A3, A2, A1, and B&O in Q5, A4 and above.
Oh no...!

Great review. How much better is the Sonos over the Audi A4 basic stereo?
Thank you! Not tried the A4 audio system, so can't comment, sorry!
I currently have a 2017 A6 saloon with standard system and it's fantastic. Any idea how this compares?
Hard to compare to this, but we did review the B&O system within the A7 and found it superior: totallyev.net/audi-a7-audio-review-bang-olufsen-system/
I’m sure B&O will knock your socks off 😂
Hey Chris, which one sounds better Audi Q4 or Skoda Enyaq ?
The Sonos system would sound better than the stock Enyaq to be honest, but neither are that impressive, namely the Audi for the price. Hopefully that helps?
Sweet sound ♥️

top end sounds a bit sharp, and how can anyone really tell what this sounds like via youtube ?
They can't, that's why there's a breakdown of the frequency range, as mentioned in the video.
the only reason those speakers wont play a full range is because of mounting locations, it may sound better than before with new drivers and what not, but you cant argue with physics

Indeed, it's not as good. As for CD quality, that would help it to a certain degree but many new vehicles don't have a CD changer nor input.
What does “shite” sound like please?

Indeed, the B&O system is superior in previous Audi versions, although, yet again not spectacular given the additional price difference.

Matt from Carwow reviewed this exact car. Same plate 😏
Haha, that explains a few things...😂
