Being type 2 diabetic makes it easy to gain visceral fat. The new class of diabetic and weight loss drug appears to help people lose this dangerous fat. A low carb diet that cuts out sugar and toxic seed oil also helps. Seed oils are being indicated as a driver of visceral fat and obesity.

I & every female cousin have a little rounded "tummy" except for the vegetarians.
I garden a massive garden, I have sizable muscles frin hauling dirt, mulch, compost, straw & weeding. I eat a lot of my own veggies, BUT I have a bit of a tummy & llarge chest.
I had a C cup in high school despite swimming 3-4 K meter 6 days a week. Despite being the fastest at 500, medley ), backstroke & butterfly. I was 130+ then & always hungry (neglected childhood).

NATURALLY....meaning diet and exercise to lose weight, not liposuctioning the subcutaneous fat that is directly under the skin. The deeper vis etal fat is most dangerous because it wraps around and within the organs and muscles, causing fatty liver disease, etc..

He said that it’s likely which doesn’t mean you will absolutely gain weight where your mother or father does. It’s not uncommon to carry fat in similar places that one parent or the other does, but nowhere does he say that it will absolutely be the case. Also he does tell you how to combat it. You have to lose it naturally, meaning eat right, exercise, get adequate sleep, and keep your stress levels low to avoid high cortisol levels. These are the things we are told time and time again. Of course everyone is a little different and it is important to consult your primary physician to discuss you as an individual, especially if you have health conditions, but what he said is good and valid information that you don’t have to take with a big grain of salt. Just know this is general advice and your primary care physician should be consulted if you have more questions about yourself and if this could be an issue.

WHAT?! ARE YOU SERIOUS?! I started gaining weight when I was 48 due to some complications in my mobility and I look like I am nine months pregnant. I never struggled with my weight or figure before and now at 53 I am carrying 50 extra pounds. Are you really saying I will never get rid of this stomach?! This is the most depressing thing I’ve heard in 2024.

Why does no one talk about subcutaneous BELLY fat? Round bellies are not always visceral fat. You can tell when it is easily pinched with the skin. And there is no information out there on the risk of this type of fat.

Research a realistic eating plan and schedule that works for you and sleep at least 7 hours a night, no smoking, no alcohol, no added sugar, no sodas, no processed meat and processed foods, minimize portion size, healthy fats in moderation, no fried foods not even air fried. Exercise. Especially resistance training/weight lifting. Mindful eating.
Grapefruit is a good fat burner. Drink only water and hot teas. Limit coffee.

      @mikebrookens4439 2 місяці тому +6

Alecthenutbucket33 was correct. The other three comments at the time that I posted this one are not incorrect, but they don't explain why. Your weight is determined entirely by physics. The only thing that matters for the purpose of weight loss is the ratio of the calories you input versus the calories you output. If you input more than you output, then you will gain weight. The opposite is true for losing weight.
Eating an intentional calorie deficit will work very effectively. The hardest part is that you feel hungry if you're used to overeating. It is difficult. I know because I have lost significant weight, regained it during the covid era, and I'm finally working on losing it again. It sucks, but it works.
Exercise works but not because it burns huge quantities of calories. Intentional exercise doesn't actually burn very many. Like if you were to jog for like an hour, that would be a very small quantity of calories. The exact amount would vary based on how much you weigh of course. The vast majority of calories you are going to burn in the day or just from your body maintaining its tissues. All kinds of work needs to be done to replace damaged cells, keep existing ones alive, and all the other work your body does. For example, I have a base metabolic rate of around 2400 calories. If I was to lay in bed without moving for an entire day, my body would burn around that many calories just by existing. Intentionally exercising on a treadmill for an hour wood burn a few hundred calories. Exercise works more because you build up muscle mass than because you are burning calories. Muscle requires energy for your body to maintain. You literally raise your base metabolic rate if you have more body mass of any kind including muscle or even fat. Your body has to expend energy to keep that tissue alive.
So to recap basically, the only thing that is important is your ratio of calorie input to calorie output. You can raise your calorie output through activity or increasing your muscle mass. You can lower your calorie input by just not eating as much. It is vastly easier to simply lower your calorie input. Exercising will make you hungry which will make you want to eat more. That being said, consistent exercise over a long period of time will significantly increase your base metabolic rate, giving you way more calorie output to work with.
There are other intricacies and such, but they have to do with things like exploiting how your body works to make you not feel hungry as often. You can simply brute force it by manually calculating the calories you are eating and simply choosing to stop eating when you have reached your limit. This is not easy to do because hunger is an incredibly powerful driver. This is even harder to do if you have a health condition that can make you really sick if you don't eat. Diabetes for example.

No! Absolutely not. I’ve lost about 10 pounds in visceral fat since Feb 2024, I’ve lost fat in other places too buy that’s not the point.
      1. I’ve been consistently going to the gym and moving my body. If you don’t wanna do the gym-that’s ok, but start walking or do UA-cam workout.
      2. Change how you eat, typically more protein and less of everything else. Google how to calculate the perfect protein amount for your body.
      3. Change what you eat. If you eat less but still eating garbage, you’re gonna struggle. Look into thermodynamic foods-they raise your body temperature to burn more calories.
      4. Don’t give up, you can do it ❤️❤️❤️
